Traxxas X-MAXX 8S full teardown/rebuild, and dyeing the ugly away!

  • I tore the X-MAXX apart, cleaned the heck out of if, and I did some experimenting with RIT dye while it was all apart. I’m very pleased with the results. not quite a how-to, but maybe more of a “you can do it too” kind of thing.
    10 minutes boil time per part/section
    5-7 heat worked just fine on my electric stovetop once it was boiling
    RIT Liquid black clothing dye was what I used.

    Looks sick….. I’m going to be attempting some tinting with green over the grey parts to see what I get…… if it looks like shit I’ll just dye black over it

    That’s fire man also what size turbo is in the back in the vid 65 ?

      thank you! and that’s the Garrett GTX3071R that’s now in my Mazdaspeed 6. I actually recorded a video just last night of a much better (some small issues sorted) pull than my other video on 17psi, it’s now on 21psi and E30, she’s pulling pretty good :)
