Even if they do lease it out during the off season it financially doesn’t make sense. But when you have unlimited money, it doesn’t matter because it has benefits that standard charters cannot give.
It costs over 4 million per year to rent planes for the nfl vs 15k per trip and minimal maintenance with such low flight miles. They started saving money by year 3

they are currently operated by Eastern Airlines LLC. Travel team can choose operator contracts but Eastern currently has them, so their dispatchers take care of team charters. Would know since I work there
