Nice, I’m back in this hobby after 20+ years cause my boys are into it. Your channel has been a ton of help for various reasons. Quick question unrelated to this vid, what shock weight are you guys running in the Maax? We mostly bash at the local skate park, definitely want to go heavier than the stock fluid. We are running 50 weight in the GTR shocks on the rustlers with the stiffest rated springs. Also, what’s up with the Slash Maax?!? Looks legit, probably our next purchase, thanks for the help! You guys rock!
I was the same way, got back into the hobby near 30 years later. For heavy jumps with the Maxx, 90-100 weight is great. The Rustler we use 60 weight but it still chassis slaps on pavement so beware. The MAXX Slash looks very nice, the chassis is longer than the MAXX but looks the same. I bet it handles amazing on the track.
The slash ultimate is 3500 KV (rtr) motor but the maxx is only 2400 KV (rtr) motor I wonder why they did it like that? I assume to get more acceleration because it's a short course track truck versus a basher . You think the ultimate slash and the max are similar in speed?
@@brodybrase3927 Maybe too late but you can upgrade your electronics with Traxxas for a discounted price through the Power Up program, send in your current stuff and pick from the 3S Velineon to the 6S VXL. Look it up in the book for your model, it's on the last few pages.
This is not supose to have an insane top speed, it comes with really slow gearing, and the motor KW is definitely not high, still ok for a 2s, not for a 2s brushless, but this speed would be fine if it was brushed, but for a brushless it is preety slow.
Cool Video!👍💯

Higher the KV the more top end, the lower the KV the more lower end.
Slash is sucha fun short track car. When you guys gonna enter races?
Definitely soon, very soon 😉
what battery were you running?
We were running on 2S
@@redbanditracing you think a 3s 5000mah would fry the esc with the car stock? and also how much would a vxl system cost start to finish
@@brodybrase3927 Id say possibly, its not rated for 3s but you never know

What pinion gear/spur gear combo are they coming with the stock out of the box car?
13/54, under parts in the support page
@@redbanditracing Thank You, I appreciate you

We know. We converted the slash into a Slash 4x4 VXL which is normal.
