- After testing multiple different leveling methods in MoP Remix, I've finally settled on a strategy that allows me to consistently get characters to level 70 in only 2-3 hours. This may not be the most traditional way to level up alts, but its speed can not be denied, and it's extremely easy for anyone to set up for themselves.

While Level 20 Boosting is currently the fastest method, I've done multiple test runs with some alternative routes. I'm really glad you posted this, I made my 20 Holy Priest last weekend and levelled a Druid 10-70 in just under 3.5 hours. I think I could easily get under 3 hours now the twink is many times more powerful now thanks to the daily quests, and I'm not focussing on using /follow and looting trash on the levelling character. Gonna watch your second video now to see if there are ways to improve my setup - using the Chi-Ji meta seems to be a big time saver already.
Edit: Managed to do it in 2h50m on my run today!

@@gruuzol6280 Not so much AFK, but you can accept the queue and stand at the doorway, yes. Since my twink was weak early on, I needed a second body to heal off of to proc Searing Light. The twink is over 100% on all secondaries now with capped movement speed, so using SL isn't needed.
Can you even do lfg at 20 on a starter account? Doesn't seem to be available.
@@bigtdawg2626 LFG? Yeah, of course, there are 5 dungeons in the rotation at 20. You can't do LFR at 20 though, if that's what you mean; you'll need to drop the 20 from the group to sign up to LFR.
Do you have the best gems in every slot? Ive not started it yet cause my gems are all blues and purps..prolly need to mindlessly grind dungs for a 3-4 hours to upgrade lol.
Just a caveat about getting banned: you shouldn't get banned and you probably won't. But Blizzard do all kinds of dumb stuff. If you trigger some kind of speed/grinding/farming limit they have then the possibility of a ban is non-zero. There are NUMEROUS cases where players have simply been banned for grinding too fast without using any exploits.
It's unfortunate but yea, you're right. Realistically I doubt this would be an issue for 99% of people but I know it's always a risk with Blizz, especially considering how bad their support is these days.
For some reason I'm unable to invite my trial account to a group to q with. They're both alliance, any ideas?
I have the same issue. “Player not found” it says.
There's also another way without having to build a twink yourself you can ask ppl in your guild if they are running a twink or ask trade chat and then ask to run with them. I've leveled 2 toons this way and never had to make a twink of my own.

@@gijsgrootelaar8728 It seems the characters have to be on the same realm. Make sure the trial account character is created on the same realm as the character that you want to boost

I just wonder ... As you queue for the random heroic dung...obviously your alt is just gonna shit there at the beginning. Has anyone had the rest of the group try to boot your toon getting boosted? Thanks.
I don't think remix players care, also your main will end up blitzing the dungeon too fast to notice
I made an arcane mage after running into one in a random hc dungeon. 10k+ threads later my biggest problem (not counting longer queues because dps spec) is accidentally oneshotting Wise Mari every now and then because when I do that the door behind him doesn't open and I have to reroute through the library which is annoying. Every trash mob except that one SM mob with an absorb shield dies to arcane explosion and bosses die in one or two arcane blasts.
I'm new to retail wow and don't understand this completely. The character becomes capped at lvl 20 right? Once you upgrade the account or when the event ends, will all the "unallocated" xp (because you are capped at 20) be allocated and then boom, lvl 70?
No. You're using the level 20 to carry characters from 10-70 on your main account. You're playing both accounts at once.

Wow amazing video. I subbed and will watch the 2nd video. My question is if you are brand new and starting out without achievements on your main account will it take a lot longer to set up the twink?
Depends on which achievements you're referring to. I would not recommend creating a Level 20 twink until you've unlocked "Infinite Power XII" on your main account, as that gives you a bunch of starting threads for the starter edition character. This just requires you to level a single character up to 70, you usually complete the achievement around the time you hit max level.
As for other achievements for dungeons/raids/scenarios to unlock the jewelry, it's entirely optional. It helps a little bit, but as I explain in the second channel videos you can very easily boost without any jewelry.

What do you mean by leave it at the door? I see they have a full group, but they are soloing? Doesn’t it make sense for everyone to just run through the dungeon?
@@Waevform You're playing on two accounts. The character on your main account, aka the one you're leveling, aka your boosted character, sits at the entrance. Your level 20 is what you're actually playing, and you use it to solo clear the dungeon. Your AFK main account character gets experience from this.

There are weakauras which tell you when it's safe to open your mailbox, right now it should be around level 40.

Hi, how do i get the starter account character in a group with the character I want to boost? Do I just go into queue at the same time and pray? Is there a better way?

@@Harldan1 Well, I figured it out after some time. I can send invite to the twink in other servers (same faction) by typing in chat: /invite characterName-RealmName. I struggled because the find player feature didn't worked but this does the trick.
My record to 70 is just shy of 3 hours.
Make a healer, heal heroics, dont loot xp items.
Do the raids on normal when you hit minimum required level.
At 40 do TOES then open all mail and you're 70.
And you don't need a 2nd account. I'm going to try and bring it below 2 and a half hours next run by teaming up a tank and healer and one dps for even faster queues and a guaranteed group with 3 non 70s getting tne scaling to work for us.
The slow down was mainly a few waits in a queue and the groups where I ended up with a bunch of fresh 70s.
I assume the answer is no, but are you planning on releasing any guide for an efficient questing path in MoP remix? I've mostly been hopping around doing campaigns and side quests up until I come across one with too much RP, but it would be nice to know if there's a better path to follow.

Yes! I'll actually be testing that during tomorrow's stream. I'm not sure if I'll end up making a "guide" for it, but I certainly plan on testing pure questing a bit more so people who enjoy that have a viable alternative.

hey, update on this. this worked for only 1 of my alts, who was getting all of the mails. now when I try to level another alt which I created, it gets nothing in the mailbox. empty. nada. I don't know what broke, but it just won't work anymore and my priest is just sort of doing dungeons for no reason now, and all the xp loots go to that one alt I got to 70. wtf :(

Not sure what you mean, you can't mail in Remix at all and you can't trade to Starter Accounts. Which part are you confused about?
Right so the drops im not looting on my twink are not going to my main accounts mailbox which has game time. Does that make more sense?

What? No? You only need the bare minimum Infinite Power 12 achievement, which you get just by leveling a single character to level 70.
I’ve been 20 and running heroics on my holy priest for awhile now and I still definitely don’t feel super powerful. I had already completed the achievements for Jade Forest etc on my main so I’m not getting any large thread additions. Not sure if this method works very well unless the 20 twink is your first to get those achievements. Or I’m just doing it wrong.
You can unlock achievements multiple times, so you don't need to get it on your twink first.
Also, "super powerful" is relative. Can you solo Heroic dungeons already? (Hint: you should be able to immediately at 20 as an Hpriest or you're doing something wrong). If you can, you're already able to boost at a comfortable pace. The more you boost, the stronger you get, and before long you'll be one shotting bosses.
@@Harldan1 You can unlock the LFG achievements multiple times? Are you sure? When I’m on my priest it just shows it as already unlocked. I’ll have to fulfill the conditions for one and see if it unlocks.
I can’t solo heroic dungeons. I tried pulling the last boss of ToJS and it ended up resetting because some people were locked out and the group tried to vote kick me “for pulling”. Thankfully my character getting boosted was there to help me vote no.
I must be playing wrong. I’m using Chastise when it’s up (on bosses), Holy Fire on cooldown (mostly on bosses), spamming Holy Nova, and using Shadow Word: Death. Tinkers are Searing Light, Slay, Windwalking, and Victory Fire.

Are you multiboxing here? I’m trying to get 4 characters ready for war within, but I don’t want to spend too much time on alts. This seems like the way to do it
I am using multiple accounts, yes, but it's not required for the trick to work.
I mean, you have 2 wow programs open same PC. I can’t login to 2 characters at the same time, unless I am allowed to have 2 wow programs open, same rig

what quests that gives 40k
Mast lets you 1 shot bosses harder if you have a level 65+ in the party. Not something to look for bu if you get a lee gem here or there with mast its pretty nice.
Personally I felt stacking crit and haste early on was a bit more reliable, since Searing Light was already blasting even without mastery stacking as long as I had someone to heal. The other stats just make my damage a bit more reliable when I'm alone. That said, you'll eventually reach Crit and Haste cap, so you can swap to Mastery at that point.
The level of others in the party do not matter

You can watch my recent speedrun to see. It's technically faster to do MSV, but the difference isn't that impactful.

You add them as a friend and invite them? I didn't explain it because it's pretty simple and obvious. If you're trying to do cross realm/server that doesn't work.

No, starter edition accounts are capped at level 20.
free-to-play accounts (not subscribed) are locked at 20. There is no way to lock a subscribed account character in Remix.
What do you mean by twink?
a Twink is a character that you lock up to a certain level that is not the maximum level available. Originally, they were used for fun in battlegrounds because those were split between level windows (10-19, 20-29, 30-39, etc...) so you had a level 39 Twink for instance and fully optimized you could wreck the hell outta of anyone in the battleground. Now, on that video's topic, your Free Discovery account literally won't let you max up a character above lvl20 so it's not like you're twinking on purpose, you just use that forced twink to boost your main's account characters.
Ive never heard of this, looks fun! But.. I cannot fully grasp what twinking do, does the lvl 20 twink carry over to the main account and then I proceed to lvl up further?
No, you play both accounts at once. You then use the Level 20 Twink on the Starter Account to easily level up characters on your main account.

when is it optimal to open the mailbox
Entirely depends on how many dungeons/raids you've run and what your bonus experience is at. If you check the pinned messages on my discord, someone has put together a pretty awesome spreadsheet which allows you to calculate it yourself by inputting all of the relevant info (current level, XP on cloak, amount of XP in mailbox, etc).
Arcane Mage is incredibly strong at this as well. I've been running it and got 1h49m45s on my most recent alt.
I suggest people that are interested to use the following steps to ultra min max:
10-25 Heroic Dungeons
25 N Mogu'shan Vaults (make sure you don't loot boss XP)
26-35 Heroic Dungeons
35 N Heart of Fear
36-41 Should be two Heroic Dungeons
41 N ToES
41-70 open mailbox and loot XP.
I could see Arcane Mage being solid, but unless you're boosting a healer your queue times would suffer a bit.
@Harldan1 I'm confused. Why aren't you just gearing up the level 20 with the best gems and then just running heroic dungeons with just your twink and main?

As someone who had good and very bad experiences with twink carrying players in my random groupfinder groups, i want to point out some things: 1. don't suck. if you are slow and other group members die left and right, some "deranged ppl" will try to kick your twink (probably the afk tank for faster queues). 2. if your twink gets kicked, don't leave and act out. you altered their dungeon experience without asking. No matter what reason they had, democracy decided. you are not their messiah for carrying them (involuntarily) and most likely point 1. 3. if you do it right, you save us a lot of time and thats great - thanks!
Two hours and 45 minutes is "In Only 3 Hours" and not "2 Hours".
I referenced a single run (my very first run, when it wasn't even refined) that was 2 hr 45 min. Literally 24 hours after making this video I got a 1 hr 11 min run. Would you like me to change the title to say "In Only 1 Hour"?

This video makes absolutely no sense. So you make a level 20 twink, how does that level "other" characters you have to 70? I'm sure there is a way but you don't describe how to do it. /sigh
This video assumes you understand the common mmo term boosting.
You boost your main account with the trial account described in the video.
You open two instances of the game.
You have your main account character sit at the dungeon entrance.
You complete the dungeon with the trial account. Repeat.

Make sure you get one character to 70 first. Then you can work on the twink.

@@galaxygur For? That's the entire leveling process, you use a starter edition character to spam dungeons. That's the guide, it's very straightforward.

Has this been nerfed? I am not able to make much XP, my twink cleans out the dungeon, but my PLee, gets nearly no XP, and only get an XP drop in my mail from 1 boss.
I think it may have been, seems like you need to get to around level 51 now and do a few more raids

@@Harldan1 Well on two toons today the mailbox aura has had me open everything at level 56 instead of lower to mid 40s and I’ve changed nothing. It’s the same old levels for you?
@@Troklie That has always been the case. You don't open at low-mid 40's unless you ran a ton of raids to get extra XP threads.

good video. I saw your second channel and made my own twink. some things to add: I use the lvl 20 to boost alts through the daily heroic/norm dungeon and scenario for bronze caches. Getting alt to 65 is when they get the legendary cache for daily quest and completion. Also make sure booster and alt are same faction or they can't que easily. Maybe I'm bad but at start of lvl 20 monk boosting I had to play brewmaster until I got right tinker and stats, but after that it is extremely fast. Slightly annoying thing is que'n as monk you usually get tank/heal role then have to swap specs, priest just runs holy. Unless your 70 is geared a 20 twink clears for daily caches and is nice outside of leveling alts. Getting legendary gems are not necessary as they have the same main stat as epic gems just nice to have if need stam, I found out can't trade gems to trial account. Great content!

Are there or is there certain levels that you should retrieve your xp and items from the mailbox? Like should i continously keep opening the mailbox or let it stack?
Open all your XP at the end of the run. Use a weakaura to calculate how much you need.
My level 10 evoker doesnt get exp scrolls dropped my cloak is stuck at 101%xp even tho my main is at like 400% on its cloak by now.

Yes.
The "problem" with this method is that it implies leveling a first character level 70. Managing gems, bying things, maxing the cloak etc... I still prefer leveling in retail, it's simple and straight forward. I wonder if it's time efficient for someone who wants to level 2 or 3 toons.
I mean, sure, but plenty of people will want to engage with this mode to unlock the cosmetics.
You can get to the XII achievement for the cloak without getting to 70. I earned it on my 20.
The cloak can be maxed on the way to 70, and that still only takes a few hours. Escalation for the second trinket takes a few minutes minutes, and you'll unlock the rings as the alt powers up.
@@grodon909 70s are complaining that they can hardly kill anything. Because of scaling, a level 20 with a XII cloak can carry them.

You can’t do this anymore I think they JUST hot fixed it …. There are dungeon cooldowns now …. I got about 35 chars to 70 and 25 chars to level 25… and then now I can’t finish them up …

Yes, they're faster and take significantly less time to setup.
Worth noting.
1) A veteran f2p account (no longer subscribed) are limited to level 20 and will not gain the XP while unsubscribed or gain XP accumulated past 20 while f2p.
2) A new f2p account (never subscribed) tracks the XP after you hit 20, and if you then subscribe, that tracked XP is added to your character. So, your level 20 twink on this type of account could jump in level if you subscribe later.

They need to be on the same server
So, from experience now, a chill way to farm bronze for gear upgrades on a 70 is to have your 70 follow your 20 through the dungeon and loot all the trash/bosses, its definitely slower this way but you easily gain 10k bronze/hour on the 70 going at a relatively relaxed pace, at least until that 70 has strong enough gear to solo the dungeons themselves.
Having that 70 follow makes the encounters really quick even with zero investment due to searing light.
Leaving the 70 at the entrance and going full speed actually results in much less bronze, but much more threads.

The reason you save the XP tokens is because their value scales at higher levels.

@kingd1486 accessories don't matter since your cloak has all your stats my 20 has 1523agility/4087stamina/966crit/1001haste/1393mastery/1279versatility those ittybitty stats from the accessories don't count for anything if all your stats are capped at 126% at lvl20
Just by queueing random Heroic dungeons can get you from 10- 70 in sub 3 hours? how , I remember when I leveled my alt it took me 4 dungeons to up 1 level, 1 dungeon takes roughly 3-10 mins depending on the dungeons, so that's a 12 - 40 min for a level.
With a level 20 twink you can reliably clear dungeons in under a minute, and that saves a lot of time. Also, the REALLY slow MoP Dungeons (Nuizao/Shado Pan) aren't available at level 20, so you'll never encounter them with this method.
@@Harldan1 You are right, complete forgot about the dungeon level lock! The Jade serpent, Scarlet Monastery are such a delight to be queued as! Yeah, if you get these two back to back to back, they are indeed about 1-2mins / run, thanks a bunch!

the starters cap at level 20. So, at 20, you just stop gaining xp.
As the other commenter said, it's not a thing you manually do. You'll need to follow the steps in this video to create a starter account, that's the only way to get a level 20 twink.
so if I make a horde twink is there anyway to use it for both horde and alliance? or I need to make 2?

@@TheScantraaxx I think you're a bit confused. The "half a day" comment was about getting the character set up. The actual process of boosting a character took me 2 1/2 hours. Also, since making this video I've managed to build a different Level 20 twink in only 3 hours, and my fastest times for boosting 10-70 are well below the 2 hour mark.
Hi, I hope you will see this cause i really need help please. I create a twink on a trial account like recommanded, except i didn't create it on the same server as the other (since the event is cross servers i didn't think it would matter). Also i create an alliance character but wanted to play with a hord character thinking cross faction would allow that. So how does that thing work ? Do u have to create a twink on the same server and same faction than the Alts i want to level ? Or is there a way to bypass that ? Thanks in advance for the answers.

Is there a general level to leave the heroic spamming and go open the XP tokens in the mail? Getting from 10-50ish really isn’t so bad at all, but after that it drags immensely. Especially 60-70, for me it took hours earlier. And then I ended up running too many and the XP items in the mail were overkill to get from 68-70. Right now I can’t even come close to like 5 hours for 10-70 via heroics, let alone 2 hours. And that’s with the entire party being filled with me and another person so that we have instant queues back to back to back.

@@learnfacts101 yeah that seems about right based on me using a WA last night that told me when to open based on how many tokens I had in my mailbox. Big issue is it somehow took me almost 4 hours despite being 3/5 of the group with instant queues. I don’t know why it’s going so slow.
Is resto shaman just as good? Considering it can has both amazing single and multi target damage with chain lightning and lava burst and it has ghost wolf for mobility, I would assume so
It's not bad, but it is nowhere near as good.
Do you strictly run dungeons or u throw in the raids for the exp boost and then use mail method?
It really depends. The raids are technically faster if you're getting carried, but they can be slower with a bad group.

So, my Hpriest hit 20, I’ve got almost all gems as legendary (crit+Stam atm) curious as to what I’m missing here. I have all gems matching yours. I can definitely do a lot of damage in a group. But in no way could I solo it. It takes me forever to kill some mobs. Was I supposed to level a 70 on my main account first? If so will I have to remake my twink? The only items I don’t have is rings, trinks and neck.
You'll need a maxed out cloak on your main for this to work

Damn I wasted my time as well. Didn’t know the cloak was so key. Figured it would level along the way on my twink and keep growing in power. Probably only want to level two chars so maybe I’ll just level them both as normal.
@@Galabrenyou don’t need to remake your character. Just unequip and re-equip the cloak and the stats will update (once you’ve gotten the achievement on your main).

I'm having issues adding my twink to a party. Is the only way to get another friend to add them both then quit since you cant add friends or use the group finder on trial accounts?
You can add friends. Are you on diff factions/servers?
