Thank you for this episode! I myself am applying in the 2021 cycle and noticed some overlap between myself and the applicant's experiences. You both mentioned that you would give this applicant a green light with the information given. I too think they've put together a pretty good application as well. One thing that I was curious about was LORs. I obviously wouldn't expect good LORs to hurt this applicant but how do you think your perspective would change if the applicant (or an applicant with slightly less competitive stats or experiences) had mediocre or just plain generic LORs? How much value do you put on LORs for an applicant like this vs someone who has less competitive stats or experiences and at what point during the reviewing process would that come into play?
