The only problem with this “expert’s” theory is that this was a custom made firearm from Italy, which had no inherent flaws with it at the time of the shooting as claimed by defense. This was already verified by several people on set during the HG trial stating that they saw him using it with each position of the hammer cocked at each specified interval without it slipping (i.e., only the pulling of the trigger around 2-3 ft-lb of force) will make it discharge as it was designed. The two firearms experts in this case also said the same thing. The prosecution will dismantle this nonsense in 30s if the defense even goes down this road of fantasy and make believe if they elect to bring in one of their own experts who testifies and makes this absurd claim.

I don't believe that this could reasonably be brushed off as a workplace accident. That really minimizes the seriousness of mishandling guns. A gun is not a toy. It is not a mere tool. It is a deadly weapon. Even guns that are designed and used solely for sports or for movies are serious business, and "not following proper protocols" when handling a real gun is, in fact, criminal negligence. Baldwin should absolutely be held accountable for his actions, and in a way that is befitting the seriousness of his failures.

We still does not have a footage with the gun firing. The one with the so called shooting footage does not have recoil, flash or smoke or any indication that the gun went off.

"I've seen cases..." has nothing to with this case especially since there is an eye witnesses standing a few feet from Baldwin who will testify that he watched Baldwin pull the trigger. How much did Baldwin's lawyers pay this man ( who wasn't there) to give this interview?

The only problem with this “expert’s” theory is that this was a custom made firearm from Italy, which had no inherent flaws with it at the time of the shooting as claimed by defense. This was already verified by several people on set during the HG trial stating that they saw him using it with each position of the hammer cocked at each specified interval without it slipping (i.e., only the pulling of the trigger around 2-3 ft-lb of force) will make it discharge as it was designed. The two firearms experts in this case also said the same thing. The prosecution will dismantle this nonsense in 30s if the defense even goes down this road of fantasy and make believe if they elect to bring in one of their own experts who testifies and makes this absurd claim.

I don't believe that this could reasonably be brushed off as a workplace accident. That really minimizes the seriousness of mishandling guns. A gun is not a toy. It is not a mere tool. It is a deadly weapon. Even guns that are designed and used solely for sports or for movies are serious business, and "not following proper protocols" when handling a real gun is, in fact, criminal negligence. Baldwin should absolutely be held accountable for his actions, and in a way that is befitting the seriousness of his failures.

"without the trigger 'technically' being pulled" i disagree with this characterization. the trigger HAS been pulled, if the trigger cannot engage the sear. that is not optional. just because it doesn't have a sear reset like a self loading firearm doesn't mean it "isn't being pulled". it's the same thing used for hammer fanning and in other guns like the 1897 for slamfiring. it is known, utilized, and often desired. trying to re-goalpost it because he may not have MEANT to pull the trigger is disingenuous.
"my understanding of the scene" is incorrect, he was not supposed to be pulling out the gun, let alone pointing it. that was for a later wider shot. testimony is that he was only supposed to be partly drawing it, but was going further.
Baldwins team seems to be releasing it as a PR move or to chcek how many people will fall for this narrative. Baldwin should have been aware that even dropping a hammer on this gun could make it fire. And he broke one of the simplest rules: he aimed this gun at people. So what if he didn't "pull the trigger"? It is a distinction without a difference. If he pulled the hammer back enough that when it dropped the firearm discharged then he has some responsibility. He also had to be pointing the firearm at the persons injured. No one failure caused this death and injury.

Second, I know people are bashing this guy, but I think his "swiss cheese" analogy is right - there were obviously many failures in procedure on that set, and not keeping to established safety rules is what allowed them to happen, which is definitely the production's fault. Plus, if what those other western competitor shooters said about the ability of that gun to fire without pulling the trigger is right, then it is a possibility that the gun went off without Baldwin causing it. I bet that ultimately, the trial verdict is going to come down to what the various experts have to say about that.
