The Black man is Leroy Daniels. You also see him on Sanford and son programs has Big boy Leroy.

Don't forget Ernest "Skillet" Mayhand. He and Daniels were a "Chitlin Circuit", comedic duo decades before Sanford and Son.

How can you not love this. Fred may be older here but this one of his absolute best numbers. Having Vincente Minnelli for your director doesn't hurt :)

Excuse my delay in answering, the acceleration of the video is on purpose, since fred is as if he wanted to imply it in the original.

@@PettyYou007 Thanks for your reply! I was specifically referring to the section where the sound is very garbled, beginning here: ruclips.net/video/4AwQb4rbaTg/видео.html

@@EdwardMorykwas _Yes, it is that by accelerating the image, the sound is accelerated, but in the original video, at that moment the lyrics of the song, do not say anything important, look at other videos, greetings.

I've not listened, but it appears this clip was trashed. Too bad. The talented African-American fellow is Ernest Mayhand, probably best remembered as one of Fred's "pool room character" friends, "Skillet" on "Sanford and Son". Ernest often often appeared on the show with his longtime comedy partner, Leroy Daniels.

@KerisCreations Did Fred pay for the shoeshine? Yes, he did, at the end of the dance. Did you not watch the scene? I don't like that the film speeds through the dance, though.
