Just need a wool jacket and collect some of those prickles and rub them in along the front and instant Velco wool jacket that could be made at any point in history.

Can confirm. I've been doing left side archery (notice how left is literally the opposite of "right", as in, the opposite of "correct", by the way) for years and you won't really start noticing the injuries until they have been building up for a while. After I did it for exactly 3 years, 127 days and 3 and a half hours, my left forearm was sliced open by the string, my back developed hernias in 4 different discs and my left bollock (notice how it wasn't the right one) burst into flames. They're literally teaching people to harm themselves. This madness must come to an end.

Mr. Brooks has not taken into account that he is shooting his bow on the southern hemisphere. This means shooting on the right side works. On the other hand, when in Europe, on the norther hemisphere, you have to shoot on the left side.
In medieval times, before the poles reversed, Europe was in the southern hemisphere and that's why it worked for them, the medieval artwork proves it categorically. The art depicting arrows on the left are obviously from post medieval pole reversed Europe.

I know that here in America, artists are always confusing which side of the car to put the Driver on when they include cars in their paintings or sketches. I mean, they themselves aren't driving experts, and mainly just see other people drive, so little things like whether the cars have the steering wheel on the right or the left, or which side of the road people drive on get past them on a regular basis.....

I'm so glad I saw this. I was training my dog to fire a bow, and he kept trying to use the wrong side. This may have saved his life and kept my dog insurance premiums manageable. He still insists on painting archers inaccurately, he just claims "artistic license" and keeps doing it though. Guess we can't win them all.

What makes it even worse is that I genuinely enjoyed and learned some things from a lot of his past content. He's just stumbled onto war archery, though, and doesn't even seem to have read anything about technique beyond different ways to grip the string, much less looked at the biomechanics of a proper draw in depth...yet all of his video titles on the subject read like the unholy offspring of clickbait and the Dunning-Kruger Effect. Perfect logic Shad 10/10. And as someone who as basically never shot with a bow it looks so much more comfortable and so much easier to shoot on the right side.
I was at a Renaissance faire a while back and there was an archery booth/range. It was a slow time of day for them and I was the only one shooting. They almost gave me no instruction on how to shoot, so I took the opportunity to try a pinch grip and instinctive shooting from the hip. After a four shots, one of them noticed and told me to use the three finger grip, because it was dangerous to do anything even a tiny bit different from the orthodox style. I had the last arrow on the bow as they told me they needed me to shoot a certain way for insurance purposes. I looked at them dumbfounded for a second, before simply loosing my arrow at the target the way I wanted to and walking away

I think the whole debate is getting out of hand. Everyone knows real medieval war bows had holes drilled in the middle of the bow shaft to allow the arrow to be shot right down the middle. And of course the medieval artists didn’t know anything about archery to depict the arrow hole...they did pictures with arrow on either side like some kind of moron...like they hadn’t seen a bow in real life, and just looked up bad examples on google images.

Took me a while to get it, but I don't know the story behind the creation of this video. I was like "why is he so triggered? Do I need to go look at my bow? " then the bit about the art came and then I realized. He definitely did sarcasm right.
lebanc571 the context behind this video is that Shad has made some videos about historically archery and that they shot the bow on the right side. After he made these he got so much backlash from the archery community and they where making the exact arguments portrayed in this video. He is just visualizing the stupidity of these people.

The point is that shooting on the left or the right have both been done for hundreds of years, and both have the same chance of injury, so it should not be used to dismiss Shads archery.

I'm so glad I saw this. I was training my dog to fire a bow, and he kept trying to use the wrong side. This may have saved his life and kept my dog insurance premiums manageable.

Are you seeing the problem yet? Shad has failed to demonstrate correct posture, even though the correct posture is shown in his very own pieces of evidence, using his draw technique. Instead, he leans backwards, which puts the shoulder, elbow, and wrist joints in improper alignment. And like lifting heavy weights with your back rather than your knees, it's likely to cause injury in the long term, even if you think you can get away with it right now. His final source:

What makes it even worse is that I genuinely enjoyed and learned some things from a lot of his past content. He's just stumbled onto war archery, though, and doesn't even seem to have read anything about technique beyond different ways to grip the string, much less looked at the biomechanics of a proper draw in depth...yet all of his video titles on the subject read like the unholy offspring of clickbait and the Dunning-Kruger Effect. Perfect logic Shad 10/10. And as someone who as basically never shot with a bow it looks so much more comfortable and so much easier to shoot on the right side.
I was at a Renaissance faire a while back and there was an archery booth/range. It was a slow time of day for them and I was the only one shooting. They almost gave me no instruction on how to shoot, so I took the opportunity to try a pinch grip and instinctive shooting from the hip. After a four shots, one of them noticed and told me to use the three finger grip, because it was dangerous to do anything even a tiny bit different from the orthodox style. I had the last arrow on the bow as they told me they needed me to shoot a certain way for insurance purposes. I looked at them dumbfounded for a second, before simply loosing my arrow at the target the way I wanted to and walking away

I think the whole debate is getting out of hand. Everyone knows real medieval war bows had holes drilled in the middle of the bow shaft to allow the arrow to be shot right down the middle. And of course the medieval artists didn’t know anything about archery to depict the arrow hole...they did pictures with arrow on either side like some kind of moron...like they hadn’t seen a bow in real life, and just looked up bad examples on google images.
This just doesn't even sound like satire because it's too accurate.

Took me a while to get it, but I don't know the story behind the creation of this video. I was like "why is he so triggered? Do I need to go look at my bow? " then the bit about the art came and then I realized. He definitely did sarcasm right.
lebanc571 the context behind this video is that Shad has made some videos about historically archery and that they shot the bow on the right side. After he made these he got so much backlash from the archery community and they where making the exact arguments portrayed in this video. He is just visualizing the stupidity of these people.
The injury argument is the one that really grinds my gears.

The point is that shooting on the left or the right have both been done for hundreds of years, and both have the same chance of injury, so it should not be used to dismiss Shads archery.

I had no idea that this was controversial in the archery community before I saw Shad's videos on this. This argument is just as, if not more, ridiculous that the AR vs AK or Modern vs Historical arguments in the firearms community.
