I have to say Eide va did a phenomenal job voicing acting the character definitely deserves a raise👏 And I love how we truly see the horrors of the curse of immortality
I just realized the reason Eide didn't receive an answer from the god of wisdom was because Rukadevata was rip and Nahida had the intelligence of a child/in jail, so there was no one to give power to the medicine (I don't think they wouldn't help him), and the medicine was blessed by the Sinner instead. If only nahida/ruka helped Eide at that time then we would have a completely different story :'< (no abyss I guess) PS. english isn't my native language and i'm a slow thinker
Also, the time where this happened, was when Rukkhadevata was corrupted (at this point of time, Rukkhadevata still exist in people's minds). The mushroom closely mimics Rukkhashava mushroom, which is closely related to Rukkhadevata herself. And it being tainted blood red might be a manifestation of early corruption/withering of the Irminsul Tree.
@@s3a.w It's Dainsleif.. We saw him waking us up when we first open up our eyes after Paimon sent us to sleep.. Of course we won't find Paimon after that since the Twin travels with Dainsleif instead of her in the past..
@@justacat5069 not just any human. Pretty sure it's his wife. How he talks about it in the quest, how desperate he is, the fact that he's buried next to her in the field etc etc
When you think about it, Rukadevata being gone was because of protecting Irminsul from the same cataclysm cause by Them, it makes this more tragic because it feels like Eide was receiving the karma that was not his to bear
41:46 Doesn't matter if Kaeya is pure blooded or not. He was born waaaay after the Cataclysm and he's aging normally since he and Diluc grew up together. He isn't cursed. If he was born during the Cataclysm then chances are he would turn to a hilichurl as well.
What if he was a hilichurl and they did find a complete cure around the time Keaya was found by Crepus. ((Bc Dain said that his „father“ lived 100 more years and then turned completely insane and vanished. Not died. So even if the skeleton next to the female one is him, he could have died much later. So he could have found a cure for Keaya in that time. Or Keaya magically did it himself idk.)) Anyways, so Keaya turned back into a human, but since he was a child when he was turned, he was a child once again and then started aging normally. He forgot everything that happened before and during the time he was a hilichurl. That could also be the reason why his father brought him to Mondstadt. Bc either, since he lost all his memories, he had no more worth/ was far more work than worth or his father actually just wanted him to have a good, normal life. And since his mother (of course only if this is correct) is from Mondstadt, he brought him there. Maybe that‘s why he wears the eyepatch. Maybe some very small part couldn‘t be turned back. This game makes me insane..
Caribert was a baby during cataclysm. So obviously he do not have memory on it. I believe when caribert was about to abysmal burst on the archon quest he revert himself back into a child/baby. Hence why eide was so happy on the outcome because of the miracle that caribert can start anew. And her mother was a mondstater hence why they decide to raised him there. Also from one of the voiceline of mona since version 1.0 about kaeya quote "Kaeya Alberich? He's a Pavo Ocellus. Destined for greatness and grandeur... and to hide ugly realities behind a layer of charm and elegance. He believes he has made a clean break with his past, but one day fate will catch up with him. When it does, he will have a major decision to make."
Hey Bran! You should read Mona's voiceline about Kaeya. It's been there since 1.0 Kaeya Alberich? He's a Pavo Ocellus. Destined for greatness and grandeur... and to hide ugly realities behind a layer of charm and elegance. He believes he has made a clean break with his past, but one day fate will catch up with him. When it does, he will have a major decision to make.
I realized something watching it now after completing the quest. Akademiya Sages are responsible for Abyss Order getting created. They imprisoned Nahida in Sanctuary of Surasthana, so she couldn't bless the medicine (if she would do that is completely different matter tho), which led to Eide getting blessing from "Sinner" instead. Which then lead to creation of Abyss Order.
Yea the thought crossed my mind before but I thought perhaps children survived the curse hence why a descendants like Kaeya exist But then this quest happened and now I don't even want to touch them anymore during commissions knowing that many of them could be children
I think the surprise for the community in general was less about Kaenriah and Abyss having close relations (bc I do think it’s obvious at this point) and more about Kaeya being perhaps a direct descendant of its founder. I think it’s the first time we hear about that
Limited ads even with censoring for this one, absolutely loved the quest, sorry it's late, been running in circles trying to get youtube to give me a reason why this is limited to fix it and nothing Hopefully it doesn't restrict the views too!
KAEYA IS SO SUS. notice how he said "I'll be just as delighted to hunt down the Abyss Order tomorrow as I have always been" ? but we dont KNOW for sure that he's ever taken any delight in that. at the very end of the domain where we get him, we see him about to confront an abyss mage before Diluc swoops in and takes care of it - we dont know for sure that Kaeya would have tried to take it out. there was also the time at the very end of the Mondstadt archon quest where the knights had the bridge all barricaded because there was apparently an abyss order assault while we were dealing with Stormterror, and we find out that Kaeya conveniently avoided this battle with the pretext of remaining in the city in case the assault was just a distraction from some other infiltration. we never got any concrete evidence Kaeya is against the abyss order. the way he worded things here would make you think sor, but it's such a specific phrasing that he wouldn't be lying to us either if he hadn't in fact been their adversary this whole time - and that would mean he still remains on their side, or at least neutral. he is such a silver tongue it's insane. remember Diluc's voiceline about him ? you can only trust about half of what Kaeya says.
@@amira_856 I doubt she is the Unknown God Paimon didn't remember Balladeer or Greater Lord Rukkhadevata, which means she is from Teyvat, and if I'm not mistaken, The Heavenly Principles aren't from Teyvat I hope they don't kill Paimon though :( She's a good friend to the Traveler
To be honest, we have had confirmation that the old place Kaeya is from was tied to the abyss since I think second time we saw Dain. He literally told us that the monsters of the abyss order were literally the people of the K place (I can't spell it lmao)
The surprise on Kaeya was, Kaeya being "the Descendant of the Abyss Order's Founder", not "Kaeya is a descendant of the Abyss Order and Khaenriah" Cuz like you said, that latter part was already basically common knowledge That was also a surprise for me when I played it
The biggest lore drop was definitely the fact that your sibling is the Prince/Princess of Khaenri'ah. It further solidifies what Nahida previously said that your sibling belongs to this world. It also clarifies what Scaramouch said about The Jester living with your sibling for a time considering he was a royal mage of the court. The thing I'm now mostly curious about is WHY we ( The Traveler ) have this idea that Aeather/Lumine is our sibling while signs are given that this might not be the case. Is The Traveler a being so old that erosion has wiped away most of our memories?
I thought it was more of a respecting title, than a confirmation of some bloodline. Our twin came to Kaenriah and promised help, they give a title. Then it all happened, according to Eide-Clothar's blamings.
Nahida said our twin first appeared in khanri'ah. I don't think he was always there. I believe when the heavenly principles took him she put him into the timeline there or something like that. Made him "canon" to teyvat
I think the Sinner removed the cursed from Eide. He said that he was "finally at peace" after receiving the purple stuff from the crystal. Just like what Dain said when we were on the upsidedown fountain during the Chasm AQ. Since his cursed was removed, Eide must've died from old age and was buried together with his wife by our abyss twin
Maybe, I got the impression the incident with the crystal is what led to him founding the order. So what length of time had to pass for him to perish of old age.
Morbid fact: After traveller wakes up from the abyss twin memories in the present day, him and Dain uncover two skeletons in the field by the house. The two skeletons are male and female. The male skeleton has a scarf, so we can assume it is Eide. But….the other one is likely Edie’s wife, and Caribert’s mother. THIS MEANS THAT…. The “strange mushrooms” that were grown in the field in the past were….grown on top of the place where Caribert’s mother is buried. The strange appearance, red color, and reaction from Eide to not ask about where he got the mushrooms, we can assume that the reason the mushrooms look so strange and red is due to being grown in soil that contains a corpse. In fact, the fact that the mushrooms grew from the dead body of Caribert’s mother might be the entire reason it was used in the medicine for Caribert
After what the gods responsible for putting the curse upon the innocent Khaenrians had done,I can't blame Tsaritsa for rebelling against the heaven. She was the god of love after all.I can't imagine how traumatized this event must've been for her.
Lumine as the Princess of Khaenri'ah made me so happy. That just makes hers and Dain's relationships seem so much more interesting. That Dain is most likelythe closest to Lumine among all the Khaenri'ahns and that only strengthened once they journeyed together.
lets go, now im just waiting for dehya’s story quest, so glad both the new quests were god tier this patch im glad im rewatching it now since ill be able to see the subtle hints of traveller being the abyss traveller and how even the environment is slightly changed these years ago
I already watched this live, it was amazing. I recommend playing the Faruzan hangout too. It's wholesome, sad and was as good as a story quest Nice thumbnail btw
@@nhatnamo4645 oh, good that I haven't played Dehya's story quest yet, more to play later, but Faruzan's hangout, while it had a couple of mid endings, definitely was one of my favourite hangouts yet (I also really like Heizou's and Beidou's hangouts). And the Windblume quest was so funny and wholesome too (at least the first part)
@@atriyakoller136 the second part of the Windblume Quest was amazing (I really appreciated that they changed focus on the different characters, like they did during the final act of Sumeru AQ), especially the enigmatic last scene. I suspect we are in a situation similar to that of the Golden Apple Archipelago 2.8, where we were introduced to Nahida in a sneaky way...
@@UberWraith totally agreed but (spoilers ahead for those who haven't done the quest yet). . . . . . . . . . Who knows, Sandrone, maybe? The hair colour is similar...
@@atriyakoller136 I was actually thinking of (spoiler) the Tsaritsa herself. We still don't know anything about her but that was obviously a Snezhnayan dress.
One of the best quests we had in game so far! I'm a bit sad Dain only appeard for a few minutes but the lore we got makes up for it. Also Eide's VA did an fantastic job! One thing I don't fully understand is what exactly happened to Chlothar's wife. I assume he killed her and burried her corpse at the field? But since she's from Mondstadt shouldn't she have turned into a monster? Or did he kill her before she transformend into one? ...but if thats the case... does that mean he dragged her corpse all the way from Khaenri'ah to that field in Sumeru? 😬
She problably was already dead agter giving birth to an ilegitimate son of a royal, maybe she would starve to give food to caribert or she and the son were imprisoned or simply shunned, we cant know for sure since clothar doesnt talk about it, but yeah the thought of him dragging the corpse of the woman he loved and his son transformed into a hilichurl to that place is dark, hella dark (9_9)
@@b-trixangel198 the worse thing of this is now you understand why the book was banned because for make the medicine you must use a corpse for growing the strange mushroom is also the motive why he not talked how he was able to cultivate them
I have a feeling that Chtolthar killed her and buried in that field to cultivate those red mushrooms, cuz firstly, he didn’t wanna tell us exactly how he grows them, and secondly, he was sus when talking about how they were “separated.” Also, I feel like that recipe could be banned because it required someone’s corpse, possibly a relative’s one? Just wanted to share my theory, i know it’s very dark, but we do move in a darker direction with genshins story :D
Now we got two voices who seem to be not limited in Teyvat's laws, first that Lady in Wanderer's Archon Quest who suspected to be Istaroth, and now this entity who call himself "Sinner", I don't think the Tsaritsa is the only one playing the chess game here now LOL, more extremely powerful beings, beyond the archons' level are joining the game.

Oh it does have sense. After all Chlothar was the name of the father of king charibert in our world, while Eide means "oath" in german My baby jaeya finally appears in the story agaaaain im so happy 🥰
Ive seen this theory from other sources before about this quest but gonna say it anyways.. so the theory is that, from this quest the sages of sumeru "indirectly" cause the abyss order to be found (?). because if you think about it, remember that this quest takes place after the cataclysm and the twin & dainsleif starts to travel around teyvat. which means nahida at that time is currently being held in surasthana, thats the reason why clothars wish arent being heard by her, because she cant even grant anything if her powers are locked away also the fact that shes relatively still a newborn archon so she doesnt have a full knowledge of being an archon (just like a todler) from this we can assume if clothars wish had been fulfilled by nahida, clothar wouldnt be given a bliss from the abyss crystal thingy and the abyss order wouldnt be created by him, buuuut as you know it... those sages are the real asshats 😂
I havent seen people talk about this but- the way Eide starts slashing out on the former Archon or Nahida, when both of them has never been part of the war lol
i never thought i will be this disturbed, emotional, and surprised this much on Genshin Impact. Bravo Hoyoverse, mind you this is just the beginning... who knows what kind of plan they gonna do for Fontaine - Snezhnaya

I think it's more likely that Enkanomiya's and the Chasm civilization were linked to the unified civilization, given that Eide has "never seen anything like this before". Both civilizations seemed to be heavily linked to abyssal shenanigans, so maybe the unfied civilization worshipped the abyss?
I don't know for the people of the chasm but enka worshipped phanes and orobashi but its also true that in artifact description celestia used the "nail of retribution" for eliminate them who seek the abyss or the master of the four shades aka phanes

Already watched this on twitch, BUT DAMN THAT THUMBNAIL IS INSANE! . Imma just leave a like and this comment.
1:32:35 I think this cutscene should be dissected more by lore theorycrafters. Since this is a rendered cutscene, one may presume that it is free from "visual bugs" that dialogue scenes may experience. Chlothar calls the Traveler "Princess/Prince of Khaenri'ah". However, if you watch the frame right before the Traveler picks up the mirror at 1:32:48 , you can see that the shadow casted is Aether/Lumine (Traveler) despite seeing Lumine/Aether (Traveler's sibling) in the mirror. If the player is just reliving the memory of the sibling through their eyes (Traveler's soul in Sibling's body), then the shadow should have shown the sibling's shadow. This leads me to believe that this could be a dream-state based on the memories from the ley lines, rather than simply watching a memory of the sibling. Hoyoverse is very deliberate with their choices in their storyboard to make this seem like a mere coincidence.
I can finally come back to watch Bran react to the quest after completing it myself yesterday. I'd always come back to watch Bran react to the game after playing thru myself, and Bran always delivers! Great reaction as always!
I thought Inazuma was bad but Sumeru is so fucked bruh. Home of the 2nd Harbinger, terminal disease, withering zone, having their god imprisoned for 500 years, nearest to Khaenri'ah and the place where the Abyss Order was founded. A full string of unfortunate coincidence
I feel Genshin is improving day by day, region by region.... in Mondstadt we defeated Dvalin, which was good really but then the jade chamber cutscenes, osial, Raiden shogun cutscenes, La Signora now we had such an EPICCCCC fight in sumeru and the lore is just WOWWWW..... This Caribert quest is also, I feel underrated, it was so effin awesome!!!!
Eide/Chlothar: GODS ABOVE YOU TOOK EVERYTHING AWAY FROM ME!! The said Gods (The Seven): •Dead and forgotten while the newborn was sealed away. •Forced to slumber and was probably poisoned by a huge ass dragon •Erosion and whatever happened with Zhongli •Dead and depressed with coping mechanism being shitty and is now creating puppets to rule the nation at her stead •Whatever the fuck happened with the Tsaritsa •Absolutely terrified of Celestia with black and white judgement and believing that she and her ideals are nothing but pure even when we can see that Fontaine is pretty messed up •No info
Kaeya woudn’t happen to be Caribert ??? That would explain why he isn’t cursed and why his father told him he was the « hope » bc he is basically a miracle ! At the same time his father wished for his son to witness the world and be happy, and strangely Kaeya wondered if his father just wanted him to live and be happy ? Moreover Caribert’s mother was from Monstadt ! Where has been left Kaeya ? In Monstadt ! No way all of this is coincidences, I think Kaeya is Caribert, that he was saved by the sinner and that in the end he found his home in Monstadt and decided that even if the abyss saved him he would still be able to tell apart good and evil and that’s why he fights the abyss to protect his new home ! Omg I really think Caribert and Kaeya are the same person !
I also think that, so many coincidences. And also, one of the first quotes of Kaeya with dain is his question about the pure kaehnriahn blood linked with dains eyes. Pretty sus
We've heard Kaeya's father's voice (during the Weinlesefest cutscene), it doesn't sound anything like Clothar. And Dain said Kaeya was a _descendant_, not _son_ which implies there's several generations in between.
Also holy shitttttt i just saw something in your video, the two npcs that you talked to(after you drew water), there are two people, one researcher and one eremite there, outside travellers memories as well(this all is happening in traveller's sibling's memories after all). but there is a difference, the npcs taht you talked to, were named Hajjan and Fateh. But when you go there any other time(other than doing this quest), their name is Hayyan and Futuh. They are not the same people. It was a hint that you arent in real world, but most people missed it simply cuz people dont remember NPC names that arent all that important. And even if they remember the names, they are pretty similar to the quest exclusive versions Hayyan and Hajjan, Fateh and Futuh.
So I kinda have a theory of who the voice inside that stone in chains is. "I know your fate well." ... "And I shall shed a tear at the end of time... as I gaze back upon your life". This operation is called Loom of Fate. There were once three sisters who weaved the thread of fate: Klotho, who weaves it, Lachesis hands out the "life lot" (Google Translator) and Atropos cuts it. I think this voice is one of the fate weavers, especially Atropos with the whole "I know your fate, I will shed a tear as your life ends" thingy. I don't know much about the Philosophy of fate with the sisters and stuff, but this seems awfully like it to me. Also, the sisters are called "Moira" for anyone that wants to google more than me now lol. And the name "Sinner" would also make kind of sense, as Atropos is someone who can just cut off peoples lives as they want, when they want. They know the fate of each and every person (as they have to look at the thread of fate - so the life of this person - to cut it) and can end it at their will. Sorry if this is too confusing tho, not good at writing this stuff xD
Also, what a great video Bran! I always love seeing your reaction to new Genshin stuff! I rarely write any comments, but do know that I love watching your videos, you're doing so great man. Keep it up :)
I did the first few sceans of this quest and then forgot about it, but your video was super helpful for when I came back, so that I could remember what happened before in the quest!
Lol was literally just watching the entire vod on twitch just now but sure, i'll take a shorter video :) If bob made the thumbnail- wow, looks really great!
Looking back, I think Kaeya DEFINITELY knows about the events here that led to the founding of the Abyss. I mean, the founder is literally his ancestor..! To quote him: "Sumeru's spices are famous the world over, and it's long been rumored that this fine establishment *was where a certain very popular spiced cocktail was invented.* "That's why the Knights sent me, their foremost expert in alcoholic beverages, to come and see if it is as good as the rumors say." He was foreshadowing!!! The Abyss, which operates the world over, was founded in Sumeru (specifically, it was here that the Loom of Fate plan was conceived). He probably came here to look into his family's history, and the spice deal was just a convenient alibi
Mona has mentioned that Kaeya will soon make an important decision regarding something big. And while yeah, I do agree that he might play a huge role in the abyss order, considering Kaeya's personality, it's all going to stick in the grey area. He's the type of character who would willingly become a villain in order to achieve something good. Like what he did with Collei in the manga. Idk.. I just see a lot of speculation saying he'll just choose the abyss. And that causes a lot of suspicions over his motivations. It's just so rare to hear people say something about his character trope that's pretty common lol Either way, I'm so glad this quest, at the very least, answered a lot of the questions I had like what made Dainsleif different from a hilichurl when they're both from Khaenri'ah. But it also formed new questions like how did it get to a point where Khaenri'ahns looked up to Lumine and treated her as a princess (or prince if Aether is you abyss twin). Were they treated like gods over there? Is that why it ticked off the other gods? They were seen as like a pagan version of it??? Idk anymore man.. o(-(
Also i know i m commenting like crazyyy, but the reason why Eide got no blessing from the statue, because either nahida was not found yet, or was entrapped by the sages. Rukkhadevata had died, and new born nahida was put in cage or didnt have her powers at this time. She could not help or even respond to his plea.
So many lore drops this archon quest but we ended up getting several millions more questions, can’t wait for the next chapter!!! Thumbnail is amazing btw!
The whole "loom of fate" operation is Just abyss making a body to hold the power of "sinner" Cuz Caribert couldn't. RIP I guess "sinner" Just sucking life from body (Grand Thief for example) and also piercing through the curse Thats Why in the Chasm hilichurls was walking to the old place Where upside down city located (some kind of memory?) Just to die by sucked life lul Also i guess that good energy in ley lines goes to the upper part of the World Tree while bad energy goes to it roots in underworld. "sinner" can be Just a bad energy of Teyvat which is looking for a physical form. Thats Why he knows everything cuz he is a part of the world. (Sorry for my hilichurl english)
Thanks for the video, what a great archon quest sheesh !!! . Always happy to see another fellow genshin player be so excited to see Kaeya and Dain XD Also I think Brandon you are onto something when you said we the traveler are re-living the same story our sibling did .... Mmmm the 7th world samsara we have to break (7 mirror pieces, 7 mmm) ?
Something that seems strange to me is that when they find the sinner, he talks to the traveler as if he were kneeling when in fact he is not. Could it be that Lumine did kneel at that moment?
I haven't seen anyone mentioning the fact that Chlothar called the Abyss twin "Prince/Princess of Khaenri'ah". But the twins didn't know about Khaenri'ah until they got to Teyvat so how can one of them be the prince/princess? I mean the only "royal" title ever given to the Abyss twin is "Abyss princess/prince", not Khaenri'ah's.
How clothar said they wanted her as their guide when khaenri'ah existed because she was unique a world hopper able to travel on other bubble universe and travel on the imaginary tree without consequence so maybe she was fallen at khaenri'ah
Very late comment but I found this video just now :) This is one of those greatly written quests that make more sense after a rewatch. I had no clue that was a memory until minutes in. And the memory started when Dain came to wake us up.
I'll start watching archon quest here after finishing my own quest (I don't do stuff like lores but thanks to you I do get extra knowledge about the main story)
I’d like to mention that the Abyss twin was called the Prince/Princess of Khaenri’ah! That means that had a major role in Khaenri’ah and that why they were probably given the role of Prince/Princess of the Abyss. When Clothar said that the Abyss twin had such a high status and didn’t know “all of us”, he was talking about being royalty and not knowing all of their people. The “Secret Identity” Clothar mentioned was being Khaenri’ahn royalty and not a traveller! Don’t know if that makes sense in the way I explained it but I’m pretty sure that’s what it means!
Last Windblume? When Kaeya randomly wrote in Hillichurl "I triumph over you," or whatever to Venti? Well I suppose with the information we now have, he did in a way. Also, kind of wild with that purple diamond. Voice coming from it clearly had some big knowledge, and King Deshret sacrificing himself in in the archon quest cutscene was shown as a purple diamond sinking into a dark pool. Not saying that was King Deshret. Just saying it's interesting since Deshret also accessed what I thought was forbidden knowledge and the similar imagery at work.
Whenever I do story quests, I always put the traveler (in my case, Lumine) in my team. Always (excluding commissions). Feel like that's a pretty immersive way to experience the story... but that's a me thing :)
Trust me its not only you in fact i choose to play the game with permanent traveller and dendro traveller is pretty useful for hyperbloom and aggravate
@@enju7 i wanted to do that also but unfortunately i discovered the true name of male traveller during we will be reunited so i don't had the opportunity to make that
Sense why you couldn’t read his mind because it was a flashback of your siblings memories RANA THATS WHY SHE LOST HER MEMORY and the son and mother was in the ground bc the father can’t. Bury himself and what Dan meant. About time in space is no obstacle to him is because one minute he teleported in the past to speak to the traveler then teleported back to the present
I saw in the chat that Eide phased out of existence at the beginning of the potion-crafting portion. This happened to me too. Was this a common occurrence? The game also had me repeat that entire segment as well, right up until I had just crafted the first potion. I thought I was in a samsara again and had a whole PTSD flashback sequence. XD
Bruh, I only just got to the quest today and at first I was so disappointed with the ending, just because it left us with so many un answered questions. But after watching this, it really has made me change my mind and this quest is just amazing lore wise. It makes so much sense with some of the things we already knew but man I want to know what the hell happened to Caribert!! One thing that is still odd is that new boss/enemy that was shown in the trailer didn't appear in this quest like I had thought it would, so where the heck is it?!

Caribert's "my body..what happened to me?!" line sounds uncannily like alphonse elric and i LOVE IT
Lol, you’re right. Love that
41:46 Doesn't matter if Kaeya is pure blooded or not.
Kaeya is a descendant of Caribert for sure
Unless he has the "it" Dain mentioned. Lol idk.
@@moonshine7721 no one said Clothar was Kaeya's father, just his ancestor
Caribert was a baby during cataclysm. So obviously he do not have memory on it. I believe when caribert was about to abysmal burst on the archon quest he revert himself back into a child/baby. Hence why eide was so happy on the outcome because of the miracle that caribert can start anew. And her mother was a mondstater hence why they decide to raised him there. Also from one of the voiceline of mona since version 1.0 about kaeya quote "Kaeya Alberich? He's a Pavo Ocellus. Hey Bran! You should read Mona's voiceline about Kaeya. It's been there since 1.0

Eide's VA is insane. I felt his emotions of being crazy after living that long suffering of thinking of a way to save his kid. Deym
She might have been too young to help anyway
This whole mission hits even harder when you realize that some of the hilichurls you've been killing could've been children at one point

I think the surprise for the community in general was less about Kaenriah and Abyss having close relations (bc I do think it’s obvious at this point) and more about Kaeya being perhaps a direct descendant of its founder. I think it’s the first time we hear about that
Limited ads even with censoring for this one, absolutely loved the quest, sorry it's late, been running in circles trying to get youtube to give me a reason why this is limited to fix it and nothing
Hopefully it doesn't restrict the views too!
I like that these past few updates have been solidifying the bond between Paimon and the traveller.
I'm kinda dreading what they have in store for us. It is kind of a red flag (kinda too many red flags imo) and it's Hoyo we're talking about so...

She's a good friend to the Traveler
To be honest, we have had confirmation that the old place Kaeya is from was tied to the abyss since I think second time we saw Dain. He literally told us that the monsters of the abyss order were literally the people of the K place (I can't spell it lmao)
Khaenri'ah
The thing is all Abyss order members are from Khaenriah, but not all Khaenrians are in the order.
Also Abyss Heralds drop a statuette with a face of the former (pre-Alberich regency) king of Khaenri'ah engraved.
The surprise on Kaeya was, Kaeya being "the Descendant of the Abyss Order's Founder", not "Kaeya is a descendant of the Abyss Order and Khaenriah"
Cuz like you said, that latter part was already basically common knowledge
That was also a surprise for me when I played it
The biggest lore drop was definitely the fact that your sibling is the Prince/Princess of Khaenri'ah.
My question is- who buried him? 😅
@@TangledRivers Who buried Eide? i just said it
Maybe, I got the impression the incident with the crystal is what led to him founding the order. So what length of time had to pass for him to perish of old age.
@@TangledRivers lumine remember this memories is to lumines.
Eide VA so talented , he is doing a phenomenal voice acting and put all his emotions in this story, so thanks to him for this 🥺💜
Morbid fact:
After traveller wakes up from the abyss twin memories in the present day, him and Dain uncover two skeletons in the field by the house.

Ive seen this theory from other sources before about this quest but gonna say it anyways..
so the theory is that, from this quest the sages of sumeru "indirectly" cause the abyss order to be found (?). because if you think about it, remember that this quest takes place after the cataclysm and the twin & dainsleif starts to travel around teyvat.
which means nahida at that time is currently being held in surasthana, thats the reason why clothars wish arent being heard by her, because she cant even grant anything if her powers are locked away
also the fact that shes relatively still a newborn archon so she doesnt have a full knowledge of being an archon (just like a todler)
from this we can assume if clothars wish had been fulfilled by nahida, clothar wouldnt be given a bliss from the abyss crystal thingy and the abyss order wouldnt be created by him, buuuut as you know it... those sages are the real asshats 😂
More than theory is just facts that make you want to kill the sages even more

I think it's more likely that Enkanomiya's and the Chasm civilization were linked to the unified civilization, given that Eide has "never seen anything like this before". Both civilizations seemed to be heavily linked to abyssal shenanigans, so maybe the unfied civilization worshipped the abyss?

Well I'm not randomly killing any Hilichurls no more, even if they attack me...

Hell noooo I missed Kaeya after the talks with the merchant even though I ran around Port Ormos and looked for him 😭😭😭
Also holy shitttttt i just saw something in your video, the two npcs that you talked to(after you drew water), there are two people, one researcher and one eremite there, outside travellers memories as well(this all is happening in traveller's sibling's memories after all).
but there is a difference, the npcs taht you talked to, were named Hajjan and Fateh.
Before even starting the video one thing bran this thumbnail is absolutely insane like wow i was never so impressed
I love ur content and stream ❤️

1:03:51 if my memory serves me right, I remember reading somewhere that Enkanomiya have similar architecture to Khaenri'ah
Looking back, I think Kaeya DEFINITELY knows about the events here that led to the founding of the Abyss. I mean, the founder is literally his ancestor..! To quote him:
"Sumeru's spices are famous the world over, and it's long been rumored that this fine establishment *was where a certain very popular spiced cocktail was invented.*
"That's why the Knights sent me, their foremost expert in alcoholic beverages, to come and see if it is as good as the rumors say."
He was foreshadowing!!! The Abyss, which operates the world over, was founded in Sumeru (specifically, it was here that the Loom of Fate plan was conceived). He probably came here to look into his family's history, and the spice deal was just a convenient alibi
Also can I just say the thumbnail is a work of art, really well composed!
seeing this thumbnail for the second time it looks even better than i thought it did on stream
It's just so rare to hear people say something about his character trope that's pretty common lol
Either way, I'm so glad this quest, at the very least, answered a lot of the questions I had like what made Dainsleif different from a hilichurl when they're both from Khaenri'ah. But it also formed new questions like how did it get to a point where Khaenri'ahns looked up to Lumine and treated her as a princess (or prince if Aether is you abyss twin). Were they treated like gods over there? Is that why it ticked off the other gods? They were seen as like a pagan version of it??? Idk anymore man.. o(-(

For me kaeya was sus from the point we first met him in monstadt he just gave different vibes

The whole "loom of fate" operation is Just abyss making a body to hold the power of "sinner"
Cuz Caribert couldn't. RIP
I guess "sinner" Just sucking life from body (Grand Thief for example) and also piercing through the curse

Also i guess that good energy in ley lines goes to the upper part of the World Tree while bad energy goes to it roots in underworld.
"sinner" can be Just a bad energy of Teyvat which is looking for a physical form.
Thats Why he knows everything cuz he is a part of the world.
(Sorry for my hilichurl english)
the voice acting in this just made this seem even more real. this quest made me think bro
I'm glad traveler is slowly getting his voice back.
I'm not surprised if he'll (Kaeya) be a Weekly Boss in the future (still doubt but possible to happen).
*weekly balls
This story quest is gorgeous! And I love your reactions, I laughed many times. Thanks for video!

the story: very serious and interesting
me: *dances to the music*💃💃
The thumbnail is insane ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for the video, what a great archon quest sheesh !!! . Always happy to see another fellow genshin player be so excited to see Kaeya and Dain XD Also I think Brandon you are onto something when you said we the traveler are re-living the same story our sibling did .... Mmmm the 7th world samsara we have to break (7 mirror pieces, 7 mmm) ?
Something that seems strange to me is that when they find the sinner, he talks to the traveler as if he were kneeling when in fact he is not. Could it be that Lumine did kneel at that moment?
Perhaps.
How clothar said they wanted her as their guide when khaenri'ah existed because she was unique a world hopper able to travel on other bubble universe and travel on the imaginary tree without consequence so maybe she was fallen at khaenri'ah
fucking amazing quest. i love genshin so much
Very late comment but I found this video just now :) This is one of those greatly written quests that make more sense after a rewatch. I had no clue that was a memory until minutes in. And the memory started when Dain came to wake us up.
This quest was amazing
Don’t know if that makes sense in the way I explained it but I’m pretty sure that’s what it means!
the va's on this quest are all veeeryy goood. Traveler, Eide, Caribert, all of them nailed It.
I do not only that but I also keep my nickname as Aether.
@@enju7 i wanted to do that also but unfortunately i discovered the true name of male traveller during we will be reunited so i don't had the opportunity to make that
Same!
@@massimilianoreali4398 You can actually edit your nickname whenever you want in-game!
XD
so it wasnt just me
Bruh, I only just got to the quest today and at first I was so disappointed with the ending, just because it left us with so many un answered questions.
Sir thumbnail is soo good Props to editor
