To be fair, if you look at exactly how Rex was shot in the head, it was in front of the left temple and came out just barely to the right side of his forehead. Almost all of the brain tissue that would have been damaged would be the prefrontal cortex, which while still significant and debilitating, has been survived in the modern day in worse happenings, like the case of Phineas Gage who took a railspike through his skull, taking out a not insignificant chunk of his prefrontal cortex in 1848 and it deeply affected him, but he lived for another 12 years. not really. in fact he's such a minor character, they apparently though it didn't matter that they changed him from a man to a woman in the series. as far as i remember, the only sort of character development he gets before being eaten by the big lizard guy, is kind of being pissed of about getting cheated out of "finally getting my chance to shine" during the fight with the villain at 9:06, when, thanks due to his shrinking powers, he manages to sneak through the crowd of mind controlled civilians and almost takes down the guy, only to be overshadowed last second by invincible dropping stones from the sky outside the guy's mind controlling range and knocking the guy unconscious just as ray is preparing to jump him.
No Other than the moment mentioned not really. I await the crying when same thing happens. Though oddly I don't recall seeing him chew so a full swallow has always confused me in why didn'tt just grow back to normal size as was in the throat. Unless Ray's powers didn't allow it.
@Kevin Green Just because I said one character is terrible doesn't mean I think they are more terrible than other hated characters. I hate Amber with my guts ad much as I hate Robot.

I’ve been worried that it’s going to get harder with the new characters they are adding to the show. I keep thinking that some are going to drop off and disappear but I think after what happened to Donald I’m ok with that cuz no one gets an easy life in this universe.
I think we'll see Donald again in the show.
@@artyom-ovsepyan he easily took my fav spot being just guy trying to do the world right with super hero’s
Yeah Donalds be back. A little different but back.
Rex's childhood reminds me of the Spartan 2 program. The way they trained since children to be weapons, and had their bodies genetically and surgically augmented for superhuman agility and strength.
Rex gets the most badass line in the entire comic.
what is it
@@freestylewrapz141 when the evil Mark is holding him by the neck and asks what he's got left to explode, and he answers "My skeleton" and vaporizes both of them.
And considering Cecil has access to beyond-Space-Age tech, Rex would most likely recover with little to no damage whatsoever.
This just made me like Rex Splode even more. I thought he was just the annoying one of the show, but damn. I had NO IDEA about this. Thank you so much!!!
The fact is voice actor is that guy Jay from that show with those hormone monsters makes it all more hilarious.
And the professor guy from Close enough. I love that guy and his voice personality
Hes the crazy guy from Brooklyn 99
He is a lot of people lol
He was "Pam" from "Dirty Grandpa".
It's very interesting how they changed the sexes and races of some characters for the show.
You say interesting....I saw woke and uneccesary. This isn't the first show to do this.
That said they haven't done anything that would make me not wanna watch yet.
@@ThatGuy-en2nn gotta agree. its not even positive representation so it seems weird. selling ur kid into slavery?
Yes, but I think I prefer Rex's new design, I think It suits his character better
@@sgolps9750 same, but i still think it was unnecessary. They even change the story to some degree, in the show Immortal didn't join the group before Robot cloned himself.
@@ThatGuy-en2nn
I honestly thought it was fine, not forced.
I hadn’t read the comic before watching but all the characters seemed relatively normal and their actions made sense which is what matters to me.
0:54 duuuude, he charged his teeth and threw them at monster girl
Threw*
@@sohype6827 Oh yeah, you're right
Bro had a good run
Damn I’m addicted to this show 💪🏾💪🏾
His kamikaze attack to kill that Mark couldn’t be undone without many others dying in his stead.
Id love to see a comedy spinoff of rex splode's own show , same way suicide squads peacemaker went and got his own side show and is so far successful, which i think rex splode's fan base would also make it popular enough, so theres definitely a big potential
Rex mellows out later in the series, love that he made a friendship with mark.
I mean in the comics he never have any problem against Mark, he even said he consider him a friend when his "battle" with Monster Girl happen, and he was the first to run against Cercil when he was attacking Mark, at least for me it never feel mutual tho, Mark says to him that he would prefer they werent friends bc he cheat on Eve after he save him from Monster Girl, and even after he died, Mark was never show any kind of sadness, he even make out with Eve on his funeral, after she was crying for Rex (that was kinda funny to me XD)
I gotta say
Rex’s sacrifice in the comic sounds really powerful and emotional
Interestingly enough I was just watching the scene in Stranger Things where Billy sacrificed himself
I honestly don’t think I’m ready to see Rex dying animated ;-;
@@s0x591 like Mike from attack on titan
This is why Rex will always be my favorite character in Invincible
Kate gets a funeral, yet is still alive.
NOTHING for my main man, Shrinking Ray
Wait, dupliKate and Shrinking Ray die!?!
@@antonissa8345 dupliKate doesn't die.
At least Rae is alive now in the animated universe. Maybe she'll get a funeral or something...
Funny that they did a throwback to Bulletproof's outfit by having Mark wear it in the show
In the comic when marks costume is being made bulletproof comes in for his costume and wanted marks costume but settled for his yellow orange costume
@@TheDragon97king I guess trying to push unsold merchandise worked out for Art after all
Means we might see Bulletproof in season 2
@@ace0135 he's got to be in in he plays some big parts later on though shame they didn't bring him in season 1since he was in the fight against mafia and thokk in that
You guys should do Allen the Alien next. He's incredibly interesting
I hope you never run out of characters for this series
I love how you avoid semantics. You get strait to the point and give us the main facts. Great videos dood.
rex in the comics: cannot charge cellular matter
rex in the show: uses his own fucking teeth as a weapon
Teeth aren't cellular afaik
@@tibo6749 yeah they are. they're bone and bone is made of cells like the rest of our bodies
And your bones aren't made up of cells entirely either. They're mineralised connective tissue, meaning it's a mixture of solid minerals and cells. Rex can technically charge bones
Does Shrinking Ray much of a character in the comics? She seems pretty minor from what I've seen so far, but she still seems kinda cool.
not really. in fact he's such a minor character, they apparently though it didn't matter that they changed him from a man to a woman in the series. as far as i remember, the only sort of character development he gets before being eaten by the big lizard guy, is kind of being pissed of about getting cheated out of "finally getting my chance to shine" during the fight with the villain at 9:06, when, thanks due to his shrinking powers, he manages to sneak through the crowd of mind controlled civilians and almost takes down the guy, only to be overshadowed last second by invincible dropping stones from the sky outside the guy's mind controlling range and knocking the guy unconscious just as ray is preparing to jump him.
No
Other than the moment mentioned not really. I await the crying when same thing happens. Though oddly I don't recall seeing him chew so a full swallow has always confused me in why didn'tt just grow back to normal size as was in the throat. Unless Ray's powers didn't allow it.
I can't wait for you to do the Mauler Twins.
The moment Robot admitted to cloning Rex because monster girl was interested in him proves that Robot is a terrible character.
he's just not good with that kind of stuff but logically that's the correct thing to do, like from a pure robotic standpoint it makes sense
@Kevin Green Just because I said one character is terrible doesn't mean I think they are more terrible than other hated characters. I hate Amber with my guts ad much as I hate Robot.
“Remember to do all the crap that RUclipsr’s tell you to do, like and subscribe blah blah blah.”
*That actually makes me want to do it lol*
does this mean that Rudolph can get all of Rex's powers( super strength, speed, endurance etc), including the gambit powers with the implants?
It’s never explicitly stated. Robot never exhibits any enhanced speed or strength in his cloned body, and outside of the flaxan dimension I can’t think of a time when he ever fights anyone outside of a drone he is piloting
He does not have Rex's implants.
@@darylchua2168 I know, that's why I said that he CAN get the gambit powers if he uses those implants, because the genes are the same.
@@rohithpotana356 I mean he could but why would he?
@@Pillowcars additional powers doesn't sound bad, and it would be better for Robot to hold all the cards that he can. What if he looses all his drones? He'd be helpless, having Rex's powers atleast gives him a chance for survival.
I just bought the Comics cause of these videos
Please do Cecil Stedman you do the best origin stories ever I swear, they're the absolute best to watch whenever I want to watch RUclips
Its already on the channel
This series is making me want to get into comics!
DEW IT!!!
What the guy above me said
Your soothing voice makes this so much better.
due to his family he probably has abandonment issues so when eve started talking to mark he probably assumed she would leave him like his family did which drove him to cheat. (not excusing his actions it was still a shitty thing to do i’m just giving my thoughts on why he did it)
Rex: *touches something
*explodes
.... It that a JOJO reference?!
Rex is one of my favorite characters he’s awesome
I honestly never made the Gambit comparison and I feel dumb. Gambit has even blown himself up against big bads.
Also these are great! I love them. Keep up the great vids.
Love how you change the moto every video it kinda funny lol
I'm just waiting for somebody explain me why is Spawn in the invencible war.
Invincible is set in the universe as Spawn.
They’re technically in the same universe if that makes sense
Rex plode figured out that the guardians of the globe have needed him since the beginning and they begin to explain that the reason that he is needed was because he said that his childhood sucked and they learn to appreciate them. IT is scary being able to find something so real within the contexyt of invincible and the meaning of truth.
Do cecil next! Than cover the invincible war!
@@kayrannkanal2026 was that really necessary dude seriously....
I hope at some point in the amazon series spawn shows up and meets invincible.that'd be badass.
ryan ottley should have done the character art design for this show
True that
There should be another preview episode of Rex, it would make his redemption arc that much more satisfying
You can tell Rex has been tanning a lot, but not nearly as much as Amber
I love multiverse arcs like at the end of this video. Just the thought of different versions of the same person.
Can we get a Cecil video ?
You know... I hadn't considered making a video on Cecil for some reason... but considering he has some unique history... yeah I think we can make that happen.
Great video. Can we get a Black Samson video? I always wanted to know how he lost his powers.
In my opinion his first suit was better looking.
Edit: the one Eve made
I'm hoping if Shrinking Rae escaped her comic book fate in the show, Rex will as well
He won't. Rae was very minor compared to Rex and his ultimate fate led to Robot's name change as well as something Eve brings up to Levy in his final attempt to stop Invincible.
Damn, Rex got nerfed hard in the anime
I really love these, Can you do a deep dive on the mauler twins next?
