      dude14377 If you follow Kyle's channel BitWit,(formerly Awesomesauce Network) you will understand the reference.
      Awesomesauce Network was a far better name compared to BitWit.
      In fact BitWit sounds more like Nitwit or Dimwit.

    • @taiiat0

      frankly 'Awesomesauce Network' sounded like a shitty Buzzwords meme Channel.

    • @JethroRose
      @JethroRose 8 лет назад +1

      socket 2011 boards are $$$. totally and utterly overkill for most non-business use though - and totally and utterly overkill unless you're running SLI for gaming or have some other niche use case requirement. I've been looking at socket 2011 for a while now (because of 32 GB RAM limit on socket 1150 and prior) - but with DDR4 i can fit 64 GB of RAM in socket 1151 - for the VM stuff i play with (e.g. running a cluster inside of VMware workstation) 32 GB in my current haswell socket 1150 is a limiting. attempting to simulate a multi-node VM cluster on a single box is awesome for testing stuff, but very memory hungry.

      I project this current build around 11k USD (with tax). I wouldn't care if I were Jay, Skunkworks is an investment for the betterment of the channel, and as such it is dirt cheap. Jay's recording gear probably costs more.

      I've been using MSI X99S Gaming 7 motherboard for over a year now with little to no problems. Only problems I had was when I first received the rig. They set the RAM voltages too low to boot for more than 1 stick of DDR4 2666Mhz. I had to manually raise the RAM voltages from BIOS and to boot with all sticks installed. I think this has been fixed since with BIOS updates.

    • @Jayztwocents

      My old home was definitely more dusty than my new home. The old home was drafty and leaky with regards to outside wind and dirt/dust. The new house is filtered so there is a LOT less dust. The dust you saw in the basement area when I removed the panels was 9 months worth. Not bad at all.

    This is my favorite version of Skunkworks yet, I love the green & black look.
    I also really enjoyed just having music music playing for most of the video for a change.

    Excellent build, it reminds me of enjoying my x99 build this year but at the same time makes me regret so many things about the build. Since you mentioned that you read your comment's I'll ramble my story/fiasco. 5 month's ago as a coping mechanism to major stuff in my life I basically emptied my savings and went to micro center, first mistake. While I wasn't up to speed in the hobby, I had only been watching you paul linus etc for entertainment, I figured they would have the knowledge to make it easier. Well no...... attempted crossfire r9 380 nitro and had blocks in the mail, returned the newest card for an r9 fury nitro and ordered a block for it (told the guy several times I would be water cooling it), told the guy I'd like better ram when I looked at my budget he said no you want this (corsair lpx 2400 16g) so I got a second kit, the asrock mobo I got would take 2min to load the OS, went back and got an Asus sabertooth x99 then when I went to return my r9 fury because it wasn't a reference card the female manager was a total bitch about it and couldn't take it back (only a couple day's outside of return guidelines) because she didn't have that card as a sku and a second employee said he was buisy with real customers and could leave a message. That was all micro center. After that I got a 1070FE to find power limit the problem not temps so I need to power mod, I unfortunately used small hard line, the 140mm rad on the back barely keeps the cover from going on, the cheap plexi window is scratched up and I just wanted a damned glass window on my nzxt noctis. Argh. But anyways I am to blame for an impulse purchase, not doing research and trusting micro center to not blow ass. I did follow your video's for the water cooling bit and that was hella fun short of hating the small tubing. Aquatuning is a great site and I got a larger percentage of alphacool product's. I have to say that most water cooling sites have a huge down side as sending a product back for rma cost's at least 2x the value of the product. So now I have 3 gpu water block's that I can't sell for the life of me. Yar, a $3.3k mistake in one box. Anyways, once I've got the time I'll work on it some more and make it glorious if not flawed.

    The green color scheme is much more preferable to the original orange-red. It would be great to hear any updates as to why the earlier colors changed so much, and if it was caused by the chemicals or the watercooling blocks themselves. Awesome video.
