I think who ever thought/said Serral was washed, is an absolute twit. Just because he didn't reach absolute peak performance for a couple of games/tournaments, doesn't mean someone is washed.....you cannot be perfect for a decade every single game. Here he is shutting them all up. I am sad because I really thought finally Maru was going to be able to grab a tournament away from him, but alas....Serral is where he is and Maru didn't manage :/

Good to have the man back on top. The difference in this last match was Serral countering the player. Maru is super greedy in most games to secure the dominant lategame. So it was good to see the pressure Serral put on him not allowing him to get away with it
His adaptation is so fast... same as MC7. Maru defeated him in the group stage 2-0, but Serral analyzed, saw that Maru simply went super greedy and adapted. This guy is utterly nuts.

Yea it used to be fun to play zerg but because of serral, it’s not fun anymore to play as someone who’s not serral 😂. The nerf patches should only apply to him and everyone else should get to play preserral nerf patches.
I honestly think at this point Serral ends up in lower brackets by design. Not that it's impossible for him to actually lose, he does that too, but it feels like, because it happens quite often, that he will occasionally almost throw a series against a strong opponent in order to do some research and keep builds hidden so he can blindside everyone on the re-up. The switch up after that series loss to Maru is staggering, especially the dominance against Clem. It just feels like it was a part of his plan all along and he came out as a steam roller when he was ready.
Just made Maru's last win over the goat seem like a dream. Serral adjusted perfectly. Maru only won by extreme greed last series. Everyone has to perform miracles against him whereas all Serral has to do is play well. Serral mixed in aggressive builds and kept the ling run-by's coming. His early game defense was exemplary - a complete turnaround from last series. God I hate zerg. Can someone just beat this guy?!
That 2nd game. I hope people realize what terran is doing. In this situation , terrans hold down the make army key and stay as close to 200/200 as much as possible. This allows the game to drag on and on and on. That lurker move ended it
@28:06 Honestly, I feel like he eventually could've done all that on his own but the question primed him and made him more likely to try and out multitask Maru as soon as possible. Him succeeding at out multitasking Maru is a different question though and I won't spoil it in this reply.

If Zerg so OP why is the Zerg top players slowly dwindling? Compare that to Terran and even more with Protoss who are the VAST majority in every and any tournament and non tournament setting? There would be MORE ZERG if it's so OP.
@marcelbenner993sc2 is about rss gathering speed and volume, you can trade as worse as you can, as long as rss is top notch. And Zerg always able to kick start rss expansion so fast. This is really OP, and very easy to force other races to multiple tasks so hard, with tunnelling and nydus.
@kitzai8144 Then why is no Zerg except Serral winning relevant tourneys since mid 2024? You can find "imba" advantages and "unfair" disadvantages for all races. Overall, balance in terms of win rates at top level, as well as participation in tournaments, Ro8 and Ro4 etc. have been pretty averaged out.
