Yes i take your point in a perfect world you shouldn't but you are weighing up the risk of a minor effect from sweat on your hands with getting the tablets foil wet which makes them crumble and even more inaccurate for later readings. Most people don't have tweezers and they certainly are not supplied as standard. You could wear gloves or you can wash your hands immediately in the pool after adding the tablets.
