Hester what a fantastic review and demonstration! I love the fact that you are so aware of little imperfections now that you are restoring tools and can point out an issue immediately!!!! Outstanding!!!!!!!!!!
Depending on what you do, you should like it for pulling things ....like screws out of tires which is not whaat I purchased them for. Originally bought Vampliers with no regrets. But when I saw these I couldn't resist. Almost anything can get a smooth nail out of a tire. But a #14 screw? Was able to twist and pull the screws out of the tires (yes, oddly more than once) with these. Works like a champ for intended use as well. I got the Knipex with a comfort grip which i think helps if you really have to struggle
I really don't get why everyone has trouble saying Knipex. It's said exactly how it's spelled, k n i p e x, no silent letters. Anyway, can't wait to get my pair with the 2 color comfort grips! I've had them ordered for what seems like forever now, gonna be great!
@@scrambler350 Right. I ordered mine from Amazon because it was the cheapest, $34 I think it was. They sent me an update the other day saying sometime in October. Knipex is saying about the same thing. Whenever it is it's too long cause I can't wait to play with them lol.
@@hester781 The only reason I really know for sure how it's said is because I'm a huge fan of their pliers and watch all their youtube vids. They say the company name constantly lol.
Flag of tape would work better than sharpe but you are right about these pliers, they are truly the business. I just order a pair and I can't wait till they get here tomorrow.
Yes, they’re great. Yes, I need (want) them. Yes, I’ve added them to my constantly growing Tool Acquisition List. Tanks fer nuttin’! 😂🔧👍 (Pardon my drool. My tool lust is showing.)
It looks like they are cheaper than the vampliers which I didn't think we're that expensive last time I looked I might get a pair to keep in my bag I wonder about a pocket size I carry the small cobras I may consider switching to these once they make a small one
You read my mind! Myself and a lot of other people are hoping for both a slightly longer version, and more importantly a pocket size! I feel like a 5 inch would be perfect sitting next to my cobra’s in my pocket
I was thinking of getting these but they’re like over $50 on Amazon! Why does my much bigger Cobra’s cost like $30 on Amazon but these are over $50?! My bigger more complicated with comfort grip Knipex “pliers wrench” were like $54, that makes sense, but these are simple pliers. I might as well buy those stout Snap-On pliers with the talon grip for $55. Where are you finding them for around $30?
So I bought mine off a site called the Jersey discount tool company. I bought them on pre-sale for 35, I just looked now and he has them up for 40 but is currently out of stock. I didn’t realize they were getting that much more expensive, that is definitely more than I’d like to spend
Jersey discount tool company or “JDTCO”, he’s an awesome tool dealer that ships free anywhere in the us, and you are 100% correct they are forged, I just get sloppy in my terminology on camera sometimes lol
You did have time to say it right. 3rd time was right, the 'K' is not silent and it's 'i' as in 'in', not as in 'night'. It's spelled by Germans so they decided how to pronounce it. Nice pliers.
I do know the correct pronunciation lol, I actually have a shirt from them with the correct way to say it spelled out on the back! I was just poking fun at the constant controversy on the internet. People get very excited about mispronounced names these days
@@hester781 Yes I know. It was a play on words because the first comment said they were basically Vampliers. People always think Vampliers were the first to use that type of grip. In actual fact the design is much, much older, plumbing pliers had the end grip 50+ years ago.
@@harveysmith100 you are 100% correct there! More than half the techs I meet all think vamplier started the trend, but I have at least 2 other pliers that are at least 50 years old with the same concept. I could be wrong but I think one may be an old plomb or proto
Crazy how much prices have changed! However the guy I bought mine from is still selling them at $45 if you were still looking. Jersey Discount Tool co, they ship anywhere in the us for free!
I’ve had them for a few months and I’m a 40+hr REAL mechanic!! They are OUTSTANDING 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 Very good review Sir
Hester what a fantastic review and demonstration! I love the fact that you are so aware of little imperfections now that you are restoring tools and can point out an issue immediately!!!! Outstanding!!!!!!!!!!
This has to be the best review i've seen on these. All the others with the knipex test boxes seem so fake.
Thank you! I really try to keep the nonsense to a minimum and give a no BS review of things
Beast of a tool! I like your twist test of the carriage bolt, the grip strength is wild!
Can't remember the last time I needed a set of pliers but this review makes me want this one. Good job.

Nice demonstration of these awesome pliers. (love your steel-toed “shop Crocs” BTW! LOL)
😂😂😂 you sir have a good eye for detail
@@hester781 LOL. Accident-prone more like. Those same Crocs on my feet would instantly be an anvil or 6 lb hammer magnet! DAMHIK

Same...ordered the two-component grip version from Chad's Toolbox a while back and still waiting.

I don’t get it either lol, I just knew if I didn’t put in some sort of disclosing statement that I’d be inviting comments on mispronouncing it

I have a pair of those and I love them. When nothing else will work these will.

That’s a great idea! Wish I thought of it at the time lol. I love these things! I use them all the time!
Anxious to get these; they'll work great on those screws at the bottom of breaker and disconnect panels that always rusts and cams-out.
I’ve been using them daily on rusted fasteners with a 95% success rate!
Great pliers. Better that i imagined
Best things I’ve bought in a while! I still use them almost every day!
Where did you hide the mirrors for that bolt twist trick? Seriously, great demo.
Don’t expose my secrets!! 😂😂 thank you 👍🏻
They should make a 6 inch model of these and I would definitely carry them daily with my cobra’s.
I could not agree more! It would be a perfect pocket carry

Where did you get them? Seems they've been backordered forever now.
Oh, and BTW, they're forged; not cast.

The K is silent, well done sir, I salute you
Excellent review 👍
“I don’t have enough time to say it right.” Here is the official pronunciation. This video is 7 seconds. ruclips.net/video/Jg38fvLR6-k/видео.html
Lol my comment was purely satire, I’m well aware of the proper pronunciation. I just don’t care enough about pronouncing it properly

Basically their Vampliers
You are correct, I love the vampliers but the adjustability of the knipex is definitely nice in certain scenarios
Or you could say, basically they are straight Cobra's
@@harveysmith100 you’re basically correct, the only real difference is the cut outs on the tip of the jaws which are just like the vamplier idea.
