My father rode Morgans in the US Army in the 30’s when we still had a Calvary. I later helped my daughter acquire 2 Morgan mares. They were incredible & so sweet. They can do anything & will be your best friend.

You missed the most incredible fact.
    They weren't bred.
    The Morgan was an accident.
The farmer was smart enough early on to realize he had an incredible horse, and when he discovered it bred "true" then it could be a breed ... and he could charge a lot for breeding!

Bought a Morgan for my daughter to take to fair 4H etc. We tried other breeds first. We found the Morgan horse is such a willing horse. I would never buy any horse that wasn’t a registered Morgan. Even if it costs a little more. The Morgan is the way to go.

I am now 66 years old. My mother, born in 1923, had a much loved Morgan mare named Hazel during her high school years. Unfortunately during her freshman year in college her beloved horse was kicked by a fully shod horse and died from 8nternal injuries. Mom said that was the most painful loss in her young life. I saw a couple of old pictures of Hazel. She was a beautiful lady, indeed.

We have an 8 year old Morgan mare. We bought her when she was a 4 month old filly. She's a total joy but she can be a bit quirky sometimes. She doesn't like rain nor does she like going into water, but she does like splashing in puddles.

I had the privilege as a child to be chosen by my very first Morgan. His name was Wilde Jester. He was 13.3 hands of willingness and sassiness. I did large pony hunter with him, evented through training level and received my B rating in Pony Club. My next Morgan was a character named Justawee Jo Benfield. Affectionately named Brat! I showed him in Children’s Hunter and did Third Level Dressage with him. He was our family member until he was 30 years old. I had the honor of being with him at the end. These horses have so much talent and versatility- they also have a wonderful and quirky sense of humor!

I own one of the very last copies of the original book printed in 1955! Although I do not have a Morgan horse, it is a beautifully written book, and I do love horses altogether. Though I have had pleasure in meeting a Morgan and broken bow Oklahoma a beautiful animal that had an accident he got wrapped up in barbed wire fence. I read the book when I was just a youngster and have loved the book of that particular horse since then.❤😊

Read the book, watched the movie. I love the Lippett Morgan and Friesians the most. They have the most presence of all the horse breeds, to my mind. When I was looking for my current horse there just happened to be a Moriesian mare for sale. I bought her and she is a great combination of both breeds and they are currently a breed of their own. She is the kindest, most willing soul I have ever met.

I have had Morgan's most of my life Bounty named after the man I bought him from he stood 14.3 he was the spitting image of Justin Morgan this was back in the 70's he was known as the old type Morgan the most reliable trail horse you could ask for. I bought a mare Whimsical that was bred to Merry Mel's Joker from Utah. Producing MSF Brandy he was written up in the Morgan Horse magazine when he won the Travis Cup endurance ride in the 1980's There is an old saying Morgan's can do it all

I found a Morgan mare yesterday. She is 16 years old. She is black. 🖤💙 My favorite color. She is Kids safe and family friendly.
She looks very promising for me.
They mentioned in the ad description that she is good for beginners, since I am a beginner. And the price is right for me. I want to provide a suitable place for her, air-conditioned, shaded, and trusted horseman to look after her when I'm away.
BUT!!! despite this, I am afraid that she will not stand the heat, especially since she is black.
So my question is: Can she tolerate this severe heat and live in the regions of the Middle East ??
Is buying and bringing her at this time of year okay?
She will be my first horse, God willing.
I will provide her, God willing, with everything she needs, but I need advice. I still consult many people to make sure that I do not cause her unintended harm.

i played red dead redemption 2 about the period in american life round 1882 to the ending of wild west society when law began to reduce outlaw gangs by hunting them...the morgan horse was just a less than common horse , seems like poor man's choice to ride on a morgan...with the most highest as best horse the arabians , the turkoman's , missouri fox trotter, mustan, nokota's, hungarian halfbred, thoroughbred, Tenessee walker, apaloosa, painted horse, kentucky saddler, and so on : thus the morgan is last in this list...thought they were bad horses...the mule as last choice...after this vid i change my mind about Morgans, they are great horses too.

Both my mom and I love Appaloosas! She used to have a leopard Appaloosa, but she sold it because she started having kids (apparently it was pregnant even though the vet told her it wasn’t and my mom didn’t even get the foal!) She still has another Appaloosa and she’s in her 20’s so we just let her chill because she has a bad back. She’s super sweet though!
