This is one of the best webinars I've ever watched and one of the only ones I've re-watched and felt the need to take detailed notes because it's so dense with sophisticated strategy and information.
Yea the old advice and even still today is that low boards "smash the bb range" but of course he has whiffed a ton aswell. Also the old "charge the flush draws" thing, make sense in theory but no-one ever folds a flush draw in reality! I love Afflecks strategy videos and they go against the commonly held mantras in poker
Great video. What's the strategy on a paired low board? Like 844r or 663r? Does anything change or do you still follow the bet low/check more with flush draws and bet big on rainbow non connecting boards?
I would say employ a 50% check and 50% bet 33% pot strategy. Bets including the pairs trips bdfd. Although I bet closer to 65% of the time in microstakes, because opponents tend to fold more often. 2tone or rainbow doesn't differ that much I think
I don't know exactly what the correct answer is, but based on my own tournament experience I would bet %75 against most villains on 844r because you have less draws that will calll you on that board and neither of you have very many 4s. If you bet small you'll encourage a lot of hands like J-Q suited with a backdoor flush draw to call. Those hands should call anyways, but in most tournaments under $1200 you will find those sorts of bets are truth serum, especially when you are sub 40 bb and you'll figure out quickly if you're up against a hand against most players because they will fold out almost everything that hasn't improved and isn't a pocket pair. If called you can be one and done or you can decide whether or not you want to barrel.
Thanks for the video. Maybe I missed it. But what is the stack size and is this tournament or cash (because BB range is way different due to raise size, rake and ante). Wait is see the BB range. Its tournamant :)
On 874, Why are all KQ, almost all AKs checking, and most AKo betting? I get why KQ are checking (separate from the AK), but I don't understand why some AK are treated the same and others different.
KQ and AK is checking to keep in the weaker As, Ks, and Qs. The AK of spades is betting more so than the other AK suited because of the board texture (8c, 7d, 4h) and no back door possibilities thus less potential to gain equity ott.
On the one hand, the information in this vid is top-notch. Obviously, Affleck knows what he's talking about. But the Power Point looks like a nine-year-old made it. Incredibly unprofessional.
Are you able to make a living of playing poker ??? Obviously you think that there is more money to be made on RUclips Otherwise you wouldn't waste your time making videos If someone with as much knowledge about poker as you prefer to try it with RUclips rather than poker make me questioning myself if I'm doing the right thing Maybe I have better chances making money by filming kittens and puppies
Do you ever find spots to use a large bet on the flop? 😄
Grazie per i sottotitoli in italiano

Definitely gonna be watching this one multiple times, excellent video
Thanks!
32:56 what position are we in here? Not sure about other parts too if it's just a general thing, or if in/out of position matters.
Thank you so much ! I realized I was doing the exact opposite of what I was supposed to do… the boards were so counter intuitive for me
