wickydkewl My timing today is perf. Ok, so I JUST watch Teen Vogue's video and saw u taking pics, and i was like, "Hey, look, it's Davey!" Minutes later, this.
I'm not saying that straight boys need to ask gay boys to prom, but this is how you ally. You support your friends, and show them that regardless of their gender/sexuality/whatever that you're there for them. This story makes me so happy.
We gay dudes have been going to dances with our straight girl friends for decades. We may as well go with our straight guy friends. What's the difference? Friendship is friendship. Love is love. 👬💝👭
I am a str8 man that had a brother whom was and is gay. I saw this and it brought tears to my eye's as I knew My Brother Chuck would be seeing this from Heaven,And that he too would be so happy to find that our World just might be changing for the better.I am so proud of these Two Hero's for doing what is right.Thank you for making a man's dreams come true.Wickydkewl your also my Hero for showing the World what is right. For God's sake Love Is Love wake up people.Peace Begets Peace and Love Begets Love.
DAAAAAAMNNN this is so cute!!! makes me so happy seeing the dynamic of their friendship. also WOW can we talk about how stylish they looked during prom???????? A+++++
I can't get enough of these two guys! Jacob and Anthony, you're inspiring and you just fill me with joy! I'm so happy for the both of you that you've got each other as friends, there's nothing better than having a best friend like that. :)
Times are certainly changing! When we were in high school, we would've been afraid to start our boyfriend YT channel, let alone take each other to prom! It's people like Jacob and Anthony that are forwarding progress by being brave and being themselves. Such a sweet, inspiring story!
the bells jon But let's face it, like yaoi, most of the gay fanfics about any male pairings out there are written by girls who wouldn't recognize reality if it crapped on their shoe... which explains how and why the interactions between male characters are so contrived most of the time and why one of the two guys HAS TO behave like a woman would when it comes to sex and feelings and stuff, because half of the gays are just women with penises and an ass for vagina, right? I mean, it's not like gays are like men at all, right? I mean , they love guys so they must be women, right? And an unrealistic man is much more attractive anyway, because reality is so over rated, ya know... And yes, there must be a pairing name too, just to take the edge off... Just to think of it, I'm gagging... never realized how sad fanfics made me... that's because they are the saddest thing there is... after war, poverty and famine... so yeah 4th place on the sad-o-meter..
FangBanger I am Alexander and have been together with my lifepartner/husband Manfred for 14 years now. I am a co-founder of an antidiscrimination association. Let me give you some thoughts to reflect on: 1. thought: Judge about a person/ about their situation only if you have went 1000 miles in their moccasins. 2. thought: How many gay couples do you know yourself personally? 3. thought: How many close gay friends do you have personally? 4. thought: Can it be you rely on stereotypes made by the ruling and oppressing hetero-class? 5. thought: Can it be you rely on a binary image of gender? Only allowing a stereotyped female role and a stereotyped male role in a couple - no matter if same sex or not? 6. thought: how much do you know about the development of the brain? About gender identity, about love orientation? 7. thought: Can it be a type of discrimination that one of the oppressing hetero-class just degrades reports on gay couples down to fanfiction if these reports don't fit to his heterosexual stereotyped image of same sex couples? 8. Can it be it is a type of discrimination focussing on sexual practices when talking about character issues of gay people? 9. There is a glimmer for hope in humankind. Nice to see people who truly value their friends and people for what they're worth, something sadly scarce in this world. This was literally the sweetest story I've seen in a while. So refreshing too, after all the terrible, harrowing news we're bombarded with every day.
naokohunter P.S. It's also nice to see that the majority of people have responded positively in the comments below. Goes to show most people are really not ignorants. As for homophobes in the 21st century... Really?! Hating people just because they're gay is as unbelievable as hating people for being of a different ethnic race or culture. But, as that died down as civilization progressed... I'm sure the unbased hate towards the LGBT community will also... Hopefully 50 years from now (or sooner) people will look back and say: "I can't believe people hated other people just because they were gay, etc."
@@rian9552 lol nope. That's like saying people don't hate African Americans. And most people know their sexuality at a young age just like heterosexuals.
I love the fact our generation is finally accepting gays and lesbians especially in high school. I remember I went with a bunch of friends to prom and my friend had to go with his (girl)friend while his bf had to go with another (girl)friend and they couldn't just go together because at the time they were literally the only gay couple in the whole class and my friend didn't come out yet so they never got to actually be together taking prom pictures and so far. I felt so bad for them and wish I could've done something but now like Anthony & Jacob, they are changing the ways and creating a better experience for people who are gay to actually make high school memories instead of bad memories. Keep this up so future generations will never have to be scared to enjoy prom with their partner!
This is so great because it sheds light on the fact that we should never be ashamed of who we are, or who our friends are. i love how the straight guy happily went to prom with his best friend, having no desire most people have to be like NO HOMO, but he was comfortable enough and supportive enough of this cause to go proudly saying, hey if other people think I'm gay, so what? it's nothing to be ashamed of.
Daveywavy, I am SOOO happy that you have done this story, people have criticized you saying that you don't seem to care about the real stories anymore, that your stuff has become too shallow! In ONE fell stroke you have blasted all that to hell!!!!!! Thank you for this, our cause isn't won yet, its on the upswing, but we can't sit back and expect it to fix itself! This was AWESOME! And I'm so proud and happy for those two to have had the strength and nerve to have done what they did! Love ya, Davey!
This is so sweet and pure. Bros are bros. My best friend in high school was a straight guy and I’m a gay guy. He never cared at all I was gay. We both brought such awesome, different perspectives to our friendship. More this!
These guys have great smiles. After listening to their parents, you can tell these kids have a great set of values. Even the fact that this whole thing got out if hand, went viral, they never lost touch in what it was all about. The friendship demonstrated between the two is inspirational. How Jacob pulled it off was fascinating. When Anthony found out it was for him was truly a joy. It's just so cool. For all those idiots out their who pan today's generation, this is a light that should shine brightly and give us hope. Many of today's kids are truly awesome!
I love the fact that Jacob had set the standard for a lot of men, especially for the man that will be in Anthony's life, come on guys! Straight men are coming up the ranks. 😊
Thank you for sharing that. Those two guys are super cool and super brave I hope they stay best friends for the rest of their lives! by the way Davy, I too didn't go to my prom
This is so inspiring! He didn't care about what people would say to him once he did it. He only wants to fulfill his friend's wish and make him happy, that's all. I think it's really sweet and nice of him to do that. It's difficult to find a friend like him. Their friendship is pure and genuine :)
What awesome friends! Straight boy Jacob is my hero, a young man who isn’t afraid to ask his gay best friend Anthony to the prom. Jacob exudes kindness, compassion and confidence. He has wisdom beyond his years. There’s still a ton of bullying in high school especially of LGBT kids and those who defend or befriend them. Jacob’s eagerness to stand up for what’s right is admirable.
these 2 are the definnition of what real friendship is...i hope this inspires more people to be fearless in friendships, love unconditionally and be their AUTHENTIC SELVES,not who peer pressure, society or predjudice and stereotypes tell them they should be...hate is learned...we are not born to be hateful.....
These two guys became such an inspiration, I think they taught a good lesson of acceptance but mostly friendship and courage. Jacob taking a stand for his best friend, regardless of what others might think, is amazing! Many adults should take those two as an example ...
Both of these young men are very eloquent talkers and are very smart!! These two will be life long friends and all the better for having this experience!!
_THIS_ , wickydkewl, is they type of thing that you should be doing from your platform. Not the dirty, tasteless, or gross out humor you've come to be known for, but inspiring things that show the good in all of us. In my opinion this also feels much more authentic to the real you. Please keep up the good work.
Their friendship is just amazing hope some ppl could get something from this story and realize that there's nothing better than being so open about this kind of things, just care each other's and respect other ppl no matter their sexuality
That is truly such an inspirational story in so many ways. In a world full of hate , we see two young people showing the world how easy and wonderful it is to respect one another. I feel like this could be a turning point for so many people.
Such a nice video, Davey! Everyone, gay or straight, needs to see this. You are right - we have come a long way. But not according to most people involved in organized religion. I don't know if we will ever overcome THAT obstacle. What do you think?
MrMusiclover41 I like how you want people to have an open mind for your beliefs and accept people. But when other people believe in their religion you can’t have an open mind to accepting that ppl choose to have a religion and think it’s a problem that people choose to believe in a religion just because it goes against your beliefs and opinions. I totally understand and accept that homosexuals are choosing to live their life the way they want to and good luck to them. It doesn’t mean I have to agree with it. Especially when my religion says they will suffer in hell, why would I want someone to suffer in eternal fire?
Wow! I'm impressed and proud to watch this. Our world is changing one sequin at a time. Everyone needs to bow down to Jacob for this inspiring act of love.
Who cares? Like, really. If we really believe in the normality of homosexual relations and inclusion, this should be completely normal and unworthy of huge amounts of attention. Good for them, but I don't really care. But yes, I see the irony on me writing about not caring, which shows that I kind of care.
Luis Matos We may believe that it is normal, but the fact is that it's still considered a social abnormality. Yes, we may want this to be something that is considered "normal" but the fact of the matter is things like this don't happen everyday. And that's because social standards still haven't evolved to consider homosexuality as being "normal" in our society. If it was completely normal we wouldn't be surprised that a straight guy asked a gay guy to be his dates to prom. The truth is a lot of guys aren't comfortable enough to do what Jacob did whether it be because they aren't completely in tune with their sexuality, they feel like their friends might think their gay, they're homophobic, etc. If being gay was considered normal people wouldn't over react (both positively or negatively) when someone comes out. If it was considered normal people's rights wouldn't be infringed upon. If it was considered normal we wouldn't have laws that prohibit gay and bisexual men to donate blood or prohibit same sex marriage. If it was normal people wouldn't have such a problem with it but people obviously do. There are so many people that still have a problem with homosexuality and use their religion and opinions and hate to deny lgbt people like me the same rights everyone else receives. Making us not normal. We are the ones that don't get the same rights that everyone else gets, and in that sense we are abnormal. Not to mention the people that try to make us feel abnormal by spewing religious crap at us. Because the Leviticus quote is oh so original and we've never heard that one before. So in that aspect we're not normal. Because society doesn't make it so we can feel like we are 100% normal, we will always have people quoting religious books and calling us fags and dykes. And until every state allows us to marry who we choose we will never feel like we are normal, we will never feel like we have a normal family, we won't feel like we are like everyone else that get's these rights that everyone else gets. Because you know what? It's all fun and gay 'til someone loses their rights.
***** I'm gay but I think there should be less attention drawn to us and encouragement. It however could negatively affect LGBT youth, but what I mean is that things like "OMG you're gay? I always wanted a gay best friend" shouldn't be said. Or like when other gays say "YAAASSS BITCH" to me because I wore something nice, or shut someone up, it makes me uncomfortable. Mostly because, it brings to much attention to my obvious orientation, but people don't pay much attention to it, till something like that goes down. Then I'm worried that someone is going to want to jump me or something.
Wow, this is the first and only time I've ever seen a Latino guy in one of your videos Davy. It looks like your racist heart is changing with the times.
I think I remember seeing this story a few years ago and it is still a very touching story between two friends. Absolutely a great video that you have created. It's great to see even today how it's more acceptable than how it was when I was younger. Like the saying on a pack of Virginia Slims.. "you've come a long way baby."
Kudos on getting an interview with this now famous duo! They are so cute, and this really gives me hope for the next generation. Amazing how what was a simple thing to them has inspired thousands of people.
I genuinely don't understand why this is such a big deal? A girl at my school went to prom with her friend who is a lesbian. Girls go together as friends all the time??? I really really just don't get it???
This really shows the open and supportive society we live in, thank God this opened so many people's minds and really showed real love and respect for people like this out there, hopefully one day we'll not see this as something weird to talk about, and we would have a better tomorrow without any sort of discrimination.
all you so called "Christians" who think it's OK to spread hate and bigotry, you should be ashamed. Not agreeing is one thing but being a jerk about it is different.
The fact that Jacob (the straight guy) said Anthony (the gay guy) was the guy that was always there for him makes we grin ear to ear. I am amazed at how awesome this friendship is and how great it is that they get so much support.
Sorry I don't speak that much, I am studying and attending a German course in my homeland, Vietnam, I understand but cannot answer you in German, maybe next few months when I finish my course, we will talk a little bit in German
They didnt use to be...the liberal fairy stuff has really caused men to lose masculinity over the past 20 years or so, and anyone who gets mad and tries saying its not true KNOWS im right. We didnt have this shit in the 80's.
+davidca96 Uhhh half of the population was closeted in the 80's because of social stigmas. Would you rather people continue living under the threat of oppression? I dunno about you, but I think a sweeter deal is having the freedom to be gay/bi/trans without people judging you for it.
Honestly, I got sentimental just thinking about how a person is trying to make his best friend happy and he is being judged for what anybody else would not be able to do so easily. I have mad respect for these guys. KEEP IT UP!!!
The guy on the left is definitely gay-curious at least. He's got a bit of gay in his voice. I don't mean this in a negative way. I think he should come out.
hi Listen, there are guys that EVERYONE knows is probably gay. Could be at work, at school anywhere. Guys like this guy ALWAYS come out of the closet later. Nothing wrong with that! I'm just saying, it's obvious and it's not a big deal.
This is the most beautiful story I have ever encounter in my life!! If the world think like you guys we would be in harmony!! Amazing human beings!!! 👌🏼💙💙💗💗👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Now this is wat real friends r,they don't judge u,and 2 c how he speaks of his friends by saying it doesn't matter who he is as a person ,respect everyone, 2 many times we have 2 beat 2 d drum of wat society think we should b,I applaud them both 4 d great friendship they have, and this serves as a good moment 2 show how real straight men aren't afraid of themselves, but d ones who think they r straight r d ones who live in fear of wat others may say.
How cool is Jacob? This is the future, friends. He didn't think it was a big deal, he was just taking a friend to prom. And really it shouldn't be, he is secure enough in himself to do that which is very mature. He knows who he is and doesn't care what those others less certain of themselves may think. This is why I believe in love and that the long arc of history bends towards justice and happiness.
The only thing I loved more than making this video was meeting Jacob and Anthony. Such inspirations!
This video was amazing davey keep it up your a great youtuber!!!
This video is so amazing. It's so inspirational. ❤️💛💚💙💜

THIS IS SO FREAKING COOL! Good for these two! That was a selfless, inspiring, and balsy thing to do. Mad props to both these dudes.
Such a nice video, Davey! Everyone, gay or straight, needs to see this. You are right - we have come a long way. But not according to most people involved in organized religion. I don't know if we will ever overcome THAT obstacle. What do you think?
***** Someday but you'll always have frozen chosen fringes.
Everyone needs to bow down to Jacob for this inspiring act of love.
this is so beautiful!
Yes, this is awesome!. Everyone should have open minded friends like this!.

I really do hope that you're being sarcastic...
Who cares? Like, really. If we really believe in the normality of homosexual relations and inclusion, this should be completely normal and unworthy of huge amounts of attention. Good for them, but I don't really care. But yes, I see the irony on me writing about not caring, which shows that I kind of care.
Blackwinter335 Then humanity is fucked for sure....
EveryDay Please explaine further
75Prelives How so?
When your name is Anthony and you're also gay.
Thanks Davey & Raymond for covering this story. very inspiring. awesome and neat. great story of Jacob & Anthony.
"you've come a long way baby."
what a great friend I wish I had more like that
Kudos on getting an interview with this now famous duo! They are so cute, and this really gives me hope for the next generation. Amazing how what was a simple thing to them has inspired thousands of people.
THIS IS AMAZING
Beautiful Friendship Story...Great to see this happening now days..! 2 awesome FRIENDS..!!! 👍👍
So this is a bromance!
These two beautiful souls are inspiring. Great young men who are an example of what friendship really is about.
all you so called "Christians" who think it's OK to spread hate and bigotry, you should be ashamed. Not agreeing is one thing but being a jerk about it is different.
PREACH 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH 😌😌
Just shows how beautiful and caring people can be in this crazy world.
LEAVE SPACE FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT?!?!?! LMAO LMAO
The fact that Jacob (the straight guy) said Anthony (the gay guy) was the guy that was always there for him makes we grin ear to ear. I am amazed at how awesome this friendship is and how great it is that they get so much support.
i want an awesome friend like that so bad!!!
Thành Ngô Choose me, and you'll have. :-) Hugs and kisses Alexander :-)
freiherrzumstein my pleasure! guten morgen aus Vietnam
Thành Ngô Hallo, ich bin Alexander! Es ist toll, dass du Deutsch kannst! Wo hast du es gelernt? :-)
Ganz lieben Gruß Alexander
Sorry I don't speak that much, I am studying and attending a German course in my homeland, Vietnam, I understand but cannot answer you in German, maybe next few months when I finish my course, we will talk a little bit in German
omg. thank you for featuring this.. I've seen this on Tumblr and I've always wonder how it happened. ❤
Ugh 😍😍 yes!! Those are my only words.
Thanks, Davey. I am always so impressed by what you post. But this may be one of the bests.
I dunno. Maybe all boys that age seem somewhat effeminate to me, but......
Don't look at me like that. You were all thinking it!
no, i wasn't bro
Neena Wycye Then you're not older than a teenager, I presume
They didnt use to be...the liberal fairy stuff has really caused men to lose masculinity over the past 20 years or so, and anyone who gets mad and tries saying its not true KNOWS im right. We didnt have this shit in the 80's.
+davidca96 Uhhh half of the population was closeted in the 80's because of social stigmas. Would you rather people continue living under the threat of oppression? I dunno about you, but I think a sweeter deal is having the freedom to be gay/bi/trans without people judging you for it.
Exactly. The guy who posted this video just wanted a story. That kid is not straight lol
Honestly, I got sentimental just thinking about how a person is trying to make his best friend happy and he is being judged for what anybody else would not be able to do so easily. I have mad respect for these guys. KEEP IT UP!!!
Nice :)
"We have to figure out how to dance, we have to leave room for the holy spirit."
😆😆😆
The guy on the left is definitely gay-curious at least. He's got a bit of gay in his voice. I don't mean this in a negative way. I think he should come out.
If he says he's straight then he's straight. I wish everyone would respect that and stop calling him gay and bi and curious...it's wrong
hi Listen, there are guys that EVERYONE knows is probably gay. Could be at work, at school anywhere. Guys like this guy ALWAYS come out of the closet later. Nothing wrong with that! I'm just saying, it's obvious and it's not a big deal.
MrSpeedyAce bullshit. guessing someones sexual orientation by voice, appearance or something like that is just stupid
John THANK YOU!!🙌👍🙏👌👐
John Common man, no truly straight guy would do what this guy did.
This is the most beautiful story I have ever encounter in my life!! If the world think like you guys we would be in harmony!! Amazing human beings!!! 👌🏼💙💙💗💗👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I really admired the straight guy for being an open minded he really accept his best friend no matter who he is..
This story is so lovely and what a beautiful heart!! TWO beautiful hearts
Davey, you are so inspiring to many others. You inspire me!
I love this story so much, that kid is amazing, so inspiring. I'm glad you interviewed them Davey.
I hope there is more people like Jacob in this world.
Omg I nearly cried while watching it. It was so cute and inspirational!
literally cried when they talked about the slow dance in the spotlight omfg asdfgh
I wanted to cry while watching this. These two truly are inspiring.
