Good on you Al for calling people out on assigning gender roles in 2018. Men can be just as nurturing as women. Really depends on the individual person, not their gender. And in the beginning, I think he's talking about that girl who was cursed by a witch who died because Jack couldn't save her at first, till he figured out how the spell worked and proceeded to break it and brought her back. But when she died Jack took it pretty hard. I read in an interview of Alex that he lost a friend last year or something like that. Maybe he was talking about bringing that baggage from his personal life in his performance when he shot that scene? Must have been really hard on him, poor guy. But he seems to be really strong, considering he kept his head up the whole time filming and doing conventions regularly throughout last year, staying in good spirits.
