I think the only reason origin is considered alt universe because there was some material old manga/some guide etc that had some info for this period and the mobile suit have bit different model names and designs.
@@Raktus so once you get into the White Base sections of The Origin manga there begins to be massive contradictions to original series and recap films, certain events happening entirely different some characters that survive 0079 getting killed, that doesn't include that it's Mobile Suit development history is entirely changed the Federation developing Mobile Suits significantly earlier into the war. It's safe to say the vast majority of what happens before the Attack on Side 7 is canon but nothing afterwards.
1:20 Just wait and see. There's already something that mismatches with the 1979 Gundam in this episode but I don't think I can talk about it yet. Maybe months later. 14:53 *insert a teasing grin here* Looking forward to the next 6+ years watching Universal Century with you guys. By the way, when new Universal Century movies or series come out, are you guys going to add them to your watch list?
Origin as the very first thing to watch of UC is definitely an *interesting* choice, lets see how that plays out for you. You get to be the gundam equivalent of people who's first star wars is Phantom Menace
The original gundam timeline is very down to earth with the sciences such as how mobile suits are affected by g forces, in gravity, zero gravity. The politics of are also down to earth.
Kycilia Zabi was supposed to take the Deikun Family to their side from Ramba Ral but she give an excuse to Sasro Zabi because she doesn’t want to squabble with Ramba Ral over them. Sasro Zabi was actually killed by a bomb set up by Kycilia Zabi she did not a use artillery piece. When Kycilia Zabi went to Ral’s home to discuss with Casval she threatened him that if he doesn’t come with them there will be a retaliation for Sasro Zabi’s death she said that they’ll live in a mansion prepared by the Zabi it isn’t their actual home and that mansion seems to belong to Roselucia Deikun she’s Deikun’s first wife Ever since Deikun was a mere street activist, Roselucia has sympathized with his ideas and given him both material and moral support, becoming a fanatical follower of his ideals. Shortly after Deikun took center stage in Munzo's government, she withdrew from the front lines due to illness, which also left her unable to bear children. Despite Deikun finding love in another woman, a bar singer named Astraia, she remained fanatically loyal to him, remaining quiet as Astraia became publically recognized as Deikun's wife and the one to bear his children. After Deikun's untimely death, there was nothing left holding back Roselucia's spite towards Astraia, whom Deikun seemingly loved more than her despite the singer's lack of investment in his ideology. Roselucia used her position as Deikun's legal wife to place her under house arrest, where she would be separated from her children and left to spend the rest of her days alone.
The Origin is considered an alternate timeline because the actual manga is a retelling of the original Mobile Suit Gundam anime that tweaks it in places and adds new material and scenes. These movies cover all the "new" material that was created specifically for The Origin. All this backstory was never animated before and only told through text side story and extra materials. As far as The Origin manga goes, this stuff was actually dropped in the MIDDLE of the story, and the manga itself started as a retelling of the original anime.
To be honest, I'd say the animated series is pretty much canonised by bandai now as in stuff like UC engage it is included and shown as part of the UC timeline progressive story years.
Well to be fair for those that said it is a prequel they’re not entirely wrong because it is still somewhat following the path to the original mobile suit Gundam show it does give you ideas about the characters that would appear in the later show in this Origins 1 had one that should not have existed and it does makes you think in the main UC timeline did things escalated like that in the Origins 1 so far it is somewhat considered as semi canon

We will just treat any info given from this as canon, until contradicted by some future show that is considered 'more canon'. :-)
@@Raktus yeah no show that I know of will have any info that can contradict any from this just old extra universe materials do it.

Oh yeah! Just like every other Gundam series, we are in it till it's done. Including any new releases!

I was hoping more for a Rogue One scenario ;-)

Has to establish itself as the real robot alternative to all the super robot anime :-)
Oh dear. It begins.

I think you'll appreciate the footwork we put in over the next few episodes to figure things out based on what is presented to us.

Yeah, we got told that rather consistently before we started. That's why we addressed it up front before we started. :-)

So are you going to watch the OG MSG 79 after this?
Yup, listed on our newest posted schedule.
