    Doing the things Dr. Umar Johnson is doing, under the conditions he is doing them; There will be haters. There will be controversy. There will be rumors of Illegitimacy. I salute Dr. Umar for his dedication and perseverance.

      You're right but we don't need to wait on them. There are over 50 million African Americans in this country, if only 10% are willing to donate a small fee to his mission there would be more than enough! Even if he only has a following of 50,000 people and we pool our money together there would be more than enough. No need to wait for or blame our black celebrities because they're doing their own thing.

      If those black celebrities donate to Umar's fund, they'll most likely be denounced in the media as associating with a "conspiracy theorist" or "race-monger" or something like that. For them it would be a PR nightmare. Plus, most black celebrities probably don't even give a shit about the black community so there's that as well.

    • @chriswellz5993
      @chriswellz5993 9 лет назад +11

      +Turn_off_TV I was thinking that too. But you know, there are a few things about that website he has that would make the average person feel fishy about it. the way it's set up and the way it's presented would have the typical person thinking "Is this legit? Or is he just trying to take my money?" Because ministers do it ALL THE TIME. They talk about getting money all the time for a good cause, and then they go buy a jet. Not saying that Umar would do that, but we have to be realistic on why people are like the way they are considering the data of others. There's not so much as a phone number on the website. Not even address. Well there is one, a PO box. So to the average person, they can't help but ask if it's legit. Not that many people even know who Dr. Umar Johnson is. Even I didn't know about him until this year. I've heard his name before, but I didn't research it to know whether he was a genuine man or not. And guess how many others are suffering from that right now?
      So we have to consider this. The internet is a goldmind for scam artists getting money out of people. And even though Umar isn't one of them, it's a shame most people's first impression would be that.
      Hope that sheds some light.

    • @chriswellz5993
      @chriswellz5993 9 лет назад +10

      Also, I'm not even sure I would qualify for the school since I'm half white. And know most of these extremist, people like me are a plague to some. "Not black enough" or some silly shit. Don't know if Umar feels that way though. I hear a lot of things, but hopefully he's one of those black leaders that's actually not prejudice with a following that's actually not prejudice. I just had an extensive conversation with a "Black Hebrew Israelite" the other day and the conversation went no where. In her mind, I'm a disease. I'm not human, I'm this, I'm that. Just kept going on and on about that I'm a lie and she's the truth. I was like "Wow... This bitch is crazy."

    Can we just take a moment to commend the Rock Newman for this quality interviewing..... I'm tired of seeing people get into nonsensical arguments with Umar when he is clearly the more knowledgeable person in the room when it comes to mental health. IT doesn't mean you have to agree with him, but I love how the interviewer lets him finish whole thoughts and build up to points. That's good. If you liked this, definitely go watch the BREAKFAST CLUB interview. That was the best interview I've seen in a long time. It was great watching young people of color talking and engaging about the REAL issues in the community. It wasn't a shouting match, it was pure respect and fun and intellectual prowess. Really good to see.

      Absolutely! Most of the interviews I've seen or heard of Dr.Johnson's have been mostly executed by dusty hotep types who have little to no professionalism, so it's refreshing to view such a well done, thorough presentation by Mr. Newman.

    • @TheDrMinipark
      @TheDrMinipark 7 лет назад +5

      Leon Scott, that is what I am talking about, intelligent conversation. A lot of times people get upset when you dig deep into their minds because they don't want to know the truth on how to solve problems because they have Stockholm Syndrome to the core. I have had people tell me that I was going to hell because I showed them something in the bible that is present in today's world but they still would rather believe the lies of the oppressor. They know that it is true but they don't want to do anything about it because they don't want it to be successful. They have too much fear in their hearts. It is really crazy because people blame all of the problems on single moms when in reality I know many people that married and they have kids that do the same stupid stuff. They get upset with me when I point it out and then they try to blame it on someone else. Not realizing that this their seed and nobody's else's. This is a product of them and they must hold accountability to the fact that they had created a monster.

    I'm an African from Nigeria. I have been living in the USA now for 20 years. I respect Americans (above anything else) for their hospitality.
    Umar Johnson....I don't think I can find the appropriate words to express how I feel about this young man. Johnson makes me feel very proud to be Black. If African leaders are half as smart as this young man, the African Continent would not be in the mess it's in today. Plenty love and respect from Houston Texas.

      PassionFashions I disagree with some points that he wants to emphasize. He wants to teach the kids how bad the white man is. I take offense to that bc I'm white and I'm being lumped into a group of older white men and women who are prejudice towards people of color. Younger white people are going to deal with the renewed prejudice he wants to teach in his school. Why do we need black and white colleges or schools? Can't we all just go to the same goddamn schools based off our GPA and test scores? If you're smart, it really doesn't matter where you grow up, you'll succeed. Poor White people dace MANY of the same challenges poor black folks face on a daily basis.

      This is Dr. Umar dream not Oprah. Please allow other people who want to help the Black community in their vision individually. Oprah was a goal setter in Africa when she open her first black girl school. She had hand pick the teachers and help with the handing picking of the students. She set strict rules in the school including what they eat and there were no junk food at all. This is lesson to everyone and I interesting to watch Dr. Umar making wise decision while he continue with his journey.

    I love Rock Newman and his interviews. He’s such a great interviewer. Dr. Umar is the absolute truth. I truly believe if he had all the money necessary to open the FDMG Academy, it would be running. I love the fact that he does not want to take money from our oppressor to get the school up and running and if I had the money, I’d give it to him. My prayer is that he gets one school up and running before he leaves this earth and I also pray God’s protection for him and his family. ✊🏾👑

    I agree with him on the SAT situation. I went to a poor high school that had lost accreditation but I graduated and made it out with a 3.8 GPA. I did horribly on the sat lol I'm a very smart girl but the language on that test was so difficult for me to understand I literally couldn't comprehend any question that was given to me so I ended up giving up on trying to pass it.

    • @CribNotes
      @CribNotes 8 лет назад +6

      I disagree. Bad high schools are the problem, not the SAT. The SAT just proves that you went to a bad high school. It does not measure intelligence as much as it measures education level. That's why smart students can do badly on the SAT.
      The worst thing you can do to a smart student with a bad education is send them to Harvard or MIT where their deficiencies will be magnified greatly as the curriculum expectations jump up to the next level. It can make them suicidal to know they have the brains but never got the proper training or slacked off on their homework too much to the point where they're too far behind. This is one of the reasons top schools require top SAT scores.

      +CribNotes What about the racial component?? Or was this your attempt to explain it away? #newplaybookplease

    • @CribNotes
      @CribNotes 8 лет назад +2

      Just_Bri The only racial component I see is black children not getting proper schooling and thus reading at lower than average levels. You're bitching about the questions on the SAT test? Yeah, me too when I was taking it!! But I couldn't whine about racism messing with my SAT score cause I'm a white boy!!
      The questions on the English Comp part of the exam are tests unto themselves before you try to choose the multiple choice answer! There were plenty of questions in there I did not understand, but based on my ability to comprehend the English language, I was able to figure out what the question was asking me. Hello? That's why it's called a test!!
