I think that while we can’t support Amerie’s actions it’s important to say that her actions were a result of being gaslighted by Malakai, and don’t get me wrong, i love malakai, but they both are lacking in the communication "departament". I think that people focus more about Amarie’s actions, because we feel the sympathy for Malakai throughout his journey and that sympathy overshadows a bit the fact that he is in fact gaslighting her. He needed to figure himself out and instead of telling that to Amarie and Rowan, he mixed them up in the process.

YES, I was yelling and face palming when Malekai was like 'NOTHING IS WRONG' while there cleary was something wrong!
He needed to talk to her! Whenever Amerie did something I was like 'well, yeah, what else was she supposed to think??'
how is he gaslighting her?? There's a difference between figuring yourself out privately and intentionally hurting someone. He literally said last episode 'not everything is about you, i have my own drama'. That's literally telling her he's just not comfortable talking to her. And he literally DID tell Rowan about Amerie, but he's not out and not comfortable sharing that with Amerie, so he didn't. But they're not dating and no one has the right to know your sexuality. I mean last season Amerie was jumping from Dusty to Malekai, which is fine cause once again, they weren't dating.
@@angietoonz6605it’s more about also being friends and him not communicating he needs space though it’s completely valid to need it while figuring himself out. Also yelling his fine when he clearly isn’t neither of them are in the wrong completely though digging the confessions was wild😭

I disagree with Amerie being a dislikable protagonist. I think she is a good representation of peoples insecurities and the constant need to act on it. Even though we havent done what shes done, we've all been down that road of insecurity and how uncertainty can drive us mad.

Tbh that couldn't have ended any differently cuz Malakai probably wasn't going to clean up the mess. Even last season, after the incident, the threesome, his first response is to act avoidant. He doesn't owe coming out to anyone but he was stringing along Amerie. And she is a bit quick to act on her intrusive thoughts but atleast her heart is in the right place, that's still better than what most characters (not Quinni) on this show do.

I'll be honest i watched the first episode of the second season and just decided i wasnt interested enough to watch the rest. I still wont watch it (yet?). Im just not really in the mood to sit through a teen drama atm... But it does seem way better than i expected. I think its really incredible that its opening up a discussion about kink and fantasy 👍🏼
