  • Sharks, dugongs, moray eels, beautiful corals, dolphins, diver in the water, diving in Egypt, sustainable diving, eco diving - are some of the thinks that first come to my mind when I think of Marsa Shagra Village.
I have tried to make a slightly unusual diving video, where you can see, in addition to all the beautiful life below the surface - the divers, who are a big part of the experience.
In addition, it has also been important for me to show what it like on land.

      Hi Juan
      Thanks for the sweet words.
In my videos, I try to also give the viewers a sense of what is on land if you visit the place. I made the recordings with a Paralenz+ Camera. This included depth and temperature, which settled on the video during recording. It has broken and is unfortunately no longer made. So my future diving videos I will have to do on my new GoPro 11. But it can also make some good footage.

Great video thanks for sharing. Can you please tell me what hotel you stayed at in the village. Also the dive operator as well please. I am trying to go there next year.

Great video! Good to see the dive operation as well as underwater. I am going there in October. Do the zodiac have ladders for boarding? How far of a walk to shore diving once geared up?

      Hey Dan
Thanks for the nice words. I just think that there was a lack of video material that, in addition to all the exciting things below the surface - also shows something about the place on land, which can be interesting when visiting Marsa Shagra Village, as a first-time visitor.
As for ladders on the boats, there are - on all the big boats (zodiaks) that sail to the outer reefs, such as Abu Dabab 2+3, Elphinstone etc. On the small boats that primarily serve diving trips on the house reef, they are boats without ladders. But these boats are relatively low - and therefore affordable to get on. It does happen, however, that when the house reef is busy, the large boats with ladders on the house reef are also used.
      Translated with Google Translate
      Sincerely, Bjarne

      Hey Dan
I just forgot to answer how far it is from the diveshade to where you lie in the water. There are about 15 meters to the water's edge. From there you wade about 40-50 meters out onto the beach, from where you can dive. So it is very easy.

@@bjarnekullebo1681 Hi Bjarne. Couple of other questions: How is the WiFi at the village? Also is the night diving done from shore or by Zodiac?

      @@danflaherty1132 Hey Dan
I think the speed measured last year on "speedtest" was around 5-10 mb. So it's probably not like home, but fine for sending pictures, talking on the phone via e.g. messenger, etc. Whether this has improved since I was there in December, I don't know. You can buy access to the village's wifi either for hours, days or perhaps a week. You must remember to log out, when you are not using the connection, or because you quickly used up your time.
Alternatively, you can buy a simcart at the airport. This solution is far better.
As for night diving, it is only from the shore. The zodiaks only sail until a little before sunset. You can night dive until to 8 PM.
      Sincerely, Bjarne

@@bjarnekullebo1681 Hi Bjarne I am leaving in a few days for Marsa Shagra! Do you recall what the process is for tipping the dive guides? Can it be done at the end of the trip or instead "as you go"?

What did you film your video on please ?

Hi Victoria All information about the camera etc appears in the scrolling texts about 12.16 minutes into the video (so almost at the end). As for the camera, I have used a Paralenz+ camera. But it has broken and is no longer being made. So my next video will be on a newly purchased GoPro 11. As far as video editing is concerned, I use Davinci Resolve 18. A super good video editing program where you can e.g. can do image stabilization - colorgrading and much more. It is a freeware program. Sincerely, Bjarne

What time of year is best for diving the red sea?

    • @bjarnekullebo1681
      @bjarnekullebo1681  Год назад

      Hi Max
It's a bit difficult to answer. If you want to see large animals, I think you can find something on the Internet. As for the water temperature, the water is a bit cold from mid-December until the beginning of March. Personally, I have dived in the Red Sea in February (a bit chilly), March is pleasant, July (very hot) and the end of November when it is still OK.
If you want to dive from Red Sea Diving Safari, there are 2 main ways you can stay. Tent without air conditioning. It will be very hot in the summer months. Personally, I always stay in the chalet with air conditioning. But I really like the months, end of November, mid-February, March and August. I hope this answers your questions. Possibly. you can read more on Red Sea Diving Safari's website:
