Your second fail about soap made me laugh: poor Grant walking around smelling like a public lavatory! Thank you for sharing.

He didn't seem to find the smell offensive at all lol

I feel the same about wooden floors walking on them barefoot. Unless they are clean it's probably ok. I don't like walking on our carpets, feels rough and is somewhat old so wearing socks mostly. Nice to know about the 'plakkies' aka jandals.

Hah! I‘m so sorry but I find the soap fail so adorable 😅

Thanks for the Jandal tips! I wonder if they would work for Bill, he gets cracked heels from Jandals every summer. 🤔

I think cracked heels is more of an exfoliate and moisturise issue. A good buff with a pumice stone in the shower regularly (scrub the pumice stone afterwards so it doesn't go mouldy) and foot cream every night will help, but not sure if he's willing to do it :)

@@AThousandWords He does that every night every his whole life, they get so bad in summer, poor guy.

Yeah that soap has a weird smell! I remember when I got it and hoping it would hurry up and use up! Lol. I can't beleive how fast I watched Bridgeton. So good!!

I'd love to look into those Archie sandals. I had to stop wearing regular sandals because it killed my knees and hips, it just wasn't worth it. I did find a pair of cork bottom sandals from Target a few years ago that were really nice but who knows how long those will last 🙂.
I'm reading The Boy Who Followed His Father into Auschwitz. A little less than half way in but I'm enjoying it so far. For some reason I have read dozens of holocaust survivor books, so that might not be your thing but, ya never know. Thanks for the lovely video, I enjoyed seeing a new video from you. Cheers to 2021❤️

Thank you for sharing your favs and fails :)
I have a suggestion for you of a podcast. Mayim Bialik's Breakdown. If you have seen Big Bang Theory, you will know her as Amy. She has a PhD in neuroscience, and this podcast focuses on mental health, and how each person experiences challenges etc etc. You can also find the episodes on RUclips under her channel Mayim Bialik. She has only just launched it this week, but it's a really good watch/listen. She is funny and quirky, and she has struggled alot with anxiety etc herself. So she tackles this podcast with a lot of humor 😁 I loved the first episode 😀 It's lengthy but worth it 😉

Oh my lol we had that hand soap in our downstairs bathroom and I hated it from the day it was opened. I like the lime one and the sweet pea one but the sea one is ick, I agree

I always enjoy your faves, fails & book videos but for whatever reason I particularly loved this one. I think it's the little anecdotes which you tell with such fab humour.
I sympathise with the smelly soap fail, we recently bought the coconut scented hand soap from Method. My other half thinks it smells gorgeous but I (who usually loves all things coconut) find that the scent makes my skin crawl - While I hate to deprive him of a product he likes, I'm kind of hoping they discontinue it otherwise I have a feeling it will be adding its unique scent to my life for some while :-)
Your archies jandles have inspired me to wonder if there is something out there like arch-supported slippers? I have really flat feet and 11 months spend inside wearing only slippers is taking it's toll. I shall investigate.
    As always thanks for sharing.

Could you add orthotics to your slippers? I bought some (drugstore) ones to add to my workout shoes and they make them so much more comfortable. In a closed shoe like a slipper maybe that would work.

That's a great idea. I wear orthotics in my shoes but never even thought about trying them in slippers!

Why do you call them Jandels??

    • @WinterWind
      @WinterWind 3 года назад +1

That's what they're known as here in NZ. Old trademarked name come colloquialism nzhistory.govt.nz/timeline/04/10
Much like kleenex for tissue in the US or hoover for vacuum in the UK
