Reasons why I'd have a 1jz
1. Everyone has a 2jz
2. I like the Over square design
3. Sounds like an RB
and 4. Because its cheaper aswell :)

Ian Thompson Here in Canada the 2jz's are 2500 CAD which is 2k in USD. A good cheap engine rebuild 1K and you have yourself a brand new engine.

Actually the turbos on the 2j are the same size. It's just that below a certain rpm all exhaust gases are directed to the first turbo, making it spool faster.

I just looked up a picture of both the turbos and one turbo has a larger compressor wheel then the other
You can have the same size housing . Doesn’t mean the compressor wheels the same .
@@61936 that's sequential turbo, smaller being low rpm and larger for higher rpm.
Cuts down on turbo lag.

That's down to personal preference, I think it would also depend on tune and exaust setup as to how good they would sound. Like a 1JZ with a nice stainless pipe could sound better than a 2JZ with a stock pipe or vice versa.
1jzgte bottom end is a bit more robust than a 2jzgte bottom end. 1jz’s have thicker shorter rods as compared to a 2jzgte’s. I believe 1jz bottom ends would be able to support almost 900 hp without being touched on a good tune. I’m gonna be pushing mine this summer so I’ll check back In with numbers
Someone, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the 2JZ-GTE have same sized turbos? The exhaust goes into one turbo for low power and uses both for high power?

Great vid, dude! Well done. I would like to see a four way comparison between the RB engines. The RB20, the RB25, the RB26 and the RB30- then to really make it interesting, look at the RB25/6 head on RB30 bottom end. You could do a really good RB vs JZ comparison too. Cheers mate

2JZGTE does not use different sized turbos. They're both the same C12's but in sequential arrangement.

@@iamasmurf1122 you're forgetting that the 1j and 2j being in line 6's have much better and stronger gradual torque than any v8 in the top end yeah you'll probably make alot of torque on a v8 but the majority of it will be low end motors like these destroy in the top end that's all that matters.

@@pope9349 they both made nearly the same power, at least comparing the 2JZ to the 350 hp LS1. It only made 30 more hp. I mean...... Was it really that much better? It's not like a 2J doesn't make torque lol

Which one is better in a NA mecha-tuned setup for high RPM use? My money is on the 1JZ-GE due to the oversquaredness.
The sequential turbo system usually has one bigger and one smaller turbo but the 2jz sequential turbos are bothe the same size. Replace the Pistons to forged stuff on 1jz and then can push for 1000hp
B18C5 vs K20A besides the obvious fact that the K-series is turned around from B-series, what did they keep and what were the biggest changes?

I have a 1JZ non vvti only downside is the twin turbos are super fraglile other than that it sounds so good under load.

Can you tell us the difference between front sump 1jz and rear sump 1jz?
Depending on which chassis the 1JZ is in, it will either have the sump "bulge" at the front or the rear in order to clear the engine cross-member. Whether front or rear sump, the engine is essentially exactly the same, just the sump position is different. You can also swap a front sump to a rear sump and vice versa.

where can I buy a 2jz? I live in Canada and have a stock mk3 supra. I want to do a swap but don't know where to find the engine.
These are the cars that came with them from factory that you can use as a donor.. not 100% on how mk3 are set up but it is likely you will need wiring harness and the ecu to make it work. if it was an NA car you will also require an intercooler. hope this helps.

Supra mk iv forum nz..2JZ GTE has 2 equally sized turbos set sequentially by the factory..but i have to say that when the second turbo engages it kicks in very hard..which may create the illusion of a larger turbo..i see also you have been advised the same previously in your comments.
Though you said the Pistons were the same size just a different stroke
