Great choice for your first movie reaction! This movie is absolutely beautiful, but it's even more impressive when you learn that this movie was filmed in just 38 days!
@@pigskinpoetry Yes, that makes perfect sense. The surgical pain staking process of editing a video like yours is understood. On that note, I would recommend watching the movie front to back in one shot uninterrupted to enjoy symphonic flow underlying the chaos of EEAAO. The first time I watched the movie, I could only handle about 20 min at a time. It was just too much. Took me two days to finish! But I LOVED the revolutionary sound track from Son Lux (they got robbed at the Oscars) and so I went to see the movie on a live big screen. There the entire flow and composition of the movie clicked and blew me out of my chair.
Great Reaction! I saw this in the Theater and cried my eyes out. Normally this type of reaction to a movie would keep me from going back to watch again where everyone can see me get so emotional, but with this one I didn't give a shit, I went back and watched it 2 more times (3 total) and then bought it as soon as I could. A couple fun facts you might appreciate: 1) The budget for this movie was a tiny $25 Million... and then according to 1 of the Producers, they were actually able to pull all of this off for only $14 Million. Freaking Insane!! There were days where Jamie Lee would rent food trucks out of her own pocket to feed the cast and crew. On Hot Dog Fingers day, she rented a Hot Dog Truck. LMFAO 2) They filmed this movie in only 38 days due to the COVID lockdown that occurred. Also unbelievable but true. 3) OFC it won every Oscar, but some ppl are pretty pissed Best Supporting Actress went to Jamie Lee instead of Stephanie Hsu (the daughter). The explanation is that the Academy was doing a 'make-up award' type situation since they've never given Jamie Lee an Oscar. I also agree it should have gone to Stephanie. 4) The S&M guy who gets spanked is played by one of the Directors (Daniels). The 2 'butt plug' actors are actually the stunt coordinators in the movie. Anyways, great reaction and thanks for reading if you've made it this far!!
Maybe spoiling yourself to start off with such an amazing piece of kinetic art, but frankly your instinct was correct: this film is all of it, as the title implies. My favorite film since Amadeus from about 40 years ago. Also yes that is the Green Destiny sword from Crouching Tiger, and if you look closely at the edits you'll see her holding an Oscar (though she didn't win it this time around, but she will).
I was so pleased with this experience (outside of the editing of this--I had to edit it 9 times to pass copyright claims). The film itself was a joy. I'll definitely return to it at some point. I'll keep The Whale in mind. I've not seen it. It might be a while before the next movie night though, some I'm swamped at work and the only reactions I'll be doing any time soon are to the Rings of Power, season 2.
Great suggestion. My young son is a giant Godzilla fan, so we've already seen it. We honestly thought about doing a reaction with the two of us, but he got sick the weekend we watched it, so he didn't feel up to it.
I've never heard of it. Can I stream it somewhere? Might be a candidate for the next movie night. If people suggest enough movies, I might do a poll to let people vote on what I do next.
This movie is about A LOT of sttuff its about The youth dealing with a the new profound feeling of hopelessness because of the internet, its about nihilism(the daughter joy) and everything is bad with very little good hence the black donut with a small white center and optimism (The dad Waymond)hence the googly eyes, mostly white with a small black center. Its about the relationship between 1st and 2nd generation immigrants hence the grandpa who hates the Americanized daughter, his wheel chair robot is made out of Chinese products and he grabs a made in usa box knife and said shes too far gone Its about the struggles of mental health and sexuality identity probably even more stuff, also the now were cooking song the the raccoon is singing is Randy Newman who singing a bunch of pixar songs
You never know the quality of the show when you start watching. I didn't totally love it, but there were some good things. A Wookiee jedi is an awesome concept that needs more exploration. Episode 5's light saber battle was one of the best in Star Wars. The antagonist was pretty strong throughout. It wasn't all bad.
NGL bro, this was kind of a weird reaction :( It definitely seems like you are emotionally unavailable (you literally barely laughed or cried). But now allow me to react to this: LOTR? LMAFAO!!!!! Not horrible but pretty farther down than 'No Country For Old Men.'
Great choice for your first movie reaction!

And for such a modest budget.
Everything Everywhere All At Once is even better the second time you watch it.!! All the craziness melts into one shape of conceptual execution.
Through the editing of this video, I feel like I've seen it about 10 times now! This took 9 different edits to finally clear copyright.

Thanks for all the info. I love behind the scenes details like that. And thanks for watching.
Great reaction! I cried too.
Thanks!
Loved your reaction :) I personally related to the whole mom and daughter dynamic
Yes. There were so many entry points into this movie.
@38:22, this always gets most reactors.. The movie is really up there with 'It's a Wonderful Life', and 1959 'Ben Hur'
I wasn't expecting it to hit that hard. Poignant.

I saw Amadeus pretty young. That's one that deserves a re-watch.
i highly recommend "the silent voive" (it's an anime movie that depicts how great the saying show don't tell is)
Thanks for the suggestion.
This is cinema at its finest and your reaction was great! The Whale is a powerful film to think about for your next.

IP Man also is a kung fu movie with strong emotional beats!

Ip Man is bald! Why does Donnie have hair?
Great reaction! I subscribed! PLEASE react to Interstellar from 2014! :)
Thanks!

I thought that raccoon sounded familiar! That's awesome.
is it even worth reacting to acolyte?

Not everyone has good taste. Now, whether that's you or me is the question...
@@pigskinpoetry This movie winning every Oscar will tell you the answer to that question
