On the cool, for all who is saying this midi keyboard ain’t for them just got to remember. This is useful to somebody that needs it. I don’t need it but as a midi controller I think it’s dope with its features.
I grabbed the latest Arturia Keylab essentials and it’s pretty much the best controller ever made for Apple Logic. Grabbed the notation fl key and that mug got then beat feeling keys I’ve ever touched on a keyboard.
Still using my key lab essential 61,mpc key 🔑 61,komplete kontrol a25, and my MicroFreak,I'm done with no need for any new keyboard midi controllers still nice to see the new 🫡👍🏾🫡
my problem is they pack them with knobs and faders and buttons and even a screen! BUT, they use such a rigid firmware that it kills the potential. make them open source ffs or at least open up the software if you don't have plans of doing anything else. its kind of irritating really
If you have KeyLab mk2 skip this one, MK3 is a downgrade in many ways, fewer pads, missing 12 buttons from the fader side and 7 in and outs from the rear, no CV functionality, bye bye modular and analog synths, but the screen is nicer :o). What were they thinking?
@@JayfkProductions876 This one, the MK3 is the new Arturia flagship, the main one, it's just missing features from the previous gen main KeyLab MK2 line. Maybe they are gearing to release the KeyLab Pro version, otherwise it's a weird design choice from Arturia.
My only two complains about Arturia controllers has been not having faders on the left and also with 'audio interface'. I believe that would have been dope😜 In future that's where we are heading, controllers with audio interface🤷♀
My question is how is the integration with its effects and programs to the MPC Live 2? Can those plugin modifications of chord progressions and melodies flow seamlessly with the MPC software? My main thoughts are saying no since its two different softwares unless the plugins and modulations are integrated into a wave file or some sort, but is it possible? For example, I modulate the sound of the keys as I am playing to record into the MPC Live 2 and keep the workflow still the same without interruption instead of having to record the sound of the modulated keys, then save it as a wav file to integrate into the MPC Live 2 and go from there. I was thinking of getting the Akai MPC Key 61 which would make sense to easily integrate with the MPC Live 2. Last question: Is that a weighted key bed or are they just big and light to press?
This is cool but I just purchased a bundle from NI which included the A49 and Komplete Standard for a little over $400. I was wondering if you have reviewed the A49 b4?
Yo Bolo! Just so you know, Bolo in Chinese means pineapple 🍍. I’ve watched your videos for a while, while living in China, and it only hit me now hahaha
They claim on their website to go to global settings and set the DAW protocol to studio one and then in Studio one set the keylab to MCU or HUI controller. I use studio one too and if this doesnt work thats a deal breaker.
I also use Studio One. I just got the Essentials version. It hooked up fine and worked perfectly in the Daw with no issues. The one thing I had to do was click on the instrument plugin, go to midi settings and hit the learn button and then touch all buttons and knobs it may not have recognized. Everything on works great.
I just don’t get it - the previous MK2 had 16 pads - yet the new MK3 has 12? Okay, they’re bigger, but it still seems as though there’s some wasted space at the bottom of them, so there could’ve kept to 16 pads! What’s happened to the previous model’s CV ports too? Oh! Let me guess… they’ve gone too! Some panel buttons seem to have gone too, like the mute and solo. This seems like a downgrade to me. What are they thinking!?
Can anyone please tell me some of the best keyboard that doesn't need a computer to work on, no built in speakers, and yet has atleast 100 tones with weighted keys, sleek design. I like the mk4 but it doesn't work without a computer, so as the native instruments s88 mk2. Please, anyone?
Keyboard controllers are a very personal thing. For me, the KeyLab Mk3 is a pass. Not everyone will agree and I respect that. I sold my KeyLab 88 MK2 last week and am looking at the Komplete 88 MK 3, It comes down to your unique workflow. I never used the pads of my KeyLab, which are not part of the Kontrol keyboards. The larger screen on the Kontrol is something I want and was hoping to see in the next revision of the KeyLab series. Based on that, the Kontrol series would be a better fit for me. My workflow is not your workflow. That’s why all these vendors turn out unique keyboard controllers. If you are looking for a controller, focus on what YOUR unique workflow is and evaluate the available options based on that. A guitar playing friend of mine once told me, “The best guitar for playing music is the one you are holding in your hands.” Find your instrument and make music with it, the rest is just details.
Arturias Keyboards they always look great and SEEM to do a lot, BUT, at the end of the day they are extremely limited and very unintuitive, and the features look good on paper but mostly never used because its gimmick before actual flexibility. And yes, they are not compatible with MPCs!! Their firmwares are horribly rigid and is NOT flexible, they don't even make an attempt to make them widely compatible and mostly never touch them after 1.0 other than for small useless updates, and very few of those do actually happen. Obviously they do work with their software, but that is pretty much the least you could expect... It bothers me that most reviewers pretend to critique but end up never questioning anything other than details, never an overall real-world questioning of how the actually work with other software and other hardware. Just roses and smiles
@@theroyalcrane I dont think man, im no youtuber and if so i would make a proper video and that would take time that i dont have. @@BoloDaProducer hi Bolo, you mean the keys play? :) well that is the least we could expect from a midi-keyboard. I agree 💯.

Seems way better than thre essential mk3!

9:44 scale mode works best with pads like on the ko2. Duplicated note pitches on adjacent keys is not very useful imho
Does it offer the same control capabilities in Pro Tools?
Does this work for FL Studios? And can you use the plug-ins for FL Studios?
