Hacker can get up to 45% base dodge with SB, 55% with Duck and Cover aced, and finally 75% after getting a kill with the ECM active. You mentioned the idea of getting triple tapped killing you (in which case it does, regardless of having PiC aced or not). Assuming getting sequentially shot (and exactly on Grace windows) the only way to die in this situation is by being shot all three times. The odds of this happening with hacker during the ECM is 1.56%. As a matter of fact, your odds of dodging two or three bullets is *exactly* the same (42.1%), giving you an 84.2% chance of dodging two or more bullets in this hypothetical. wow i must be really lucky to consistently get 1.56% chances several times in a row i dont rely on dodge but its still annoying when it just doesnt trigger at all
@@suckanegg5501 That 1.56% number comes from being shot at *only* three times. If you get shot at more (which you probably will) the chance goes up, by definition, exponentially.
The problem with rogue players specifically in pubs is they dont care about creating space, and you get targeted more for creating space. I respect dodge as a mechanic and can get along with hacker/sicario players but playing with a BAD rogue player is just annoying.
The more things change, the more they stay the same. My old team used to do 2 or 3 man pub lobbies (as work/school permitted) and 99.99% of the time, the worst players were always running Rogue+Messiah. It's a hold over from what was "common knowledge" since Perk Decks debuted: That Rogue is the best because evasion = fast and stronk. This was a misconception at best, because facerolling everything in max difficulty PD2 gets you killed no matter what patch-version of the game you're playing, but that doesn't stop idiots from being idiots. Rogue used to be the undisputed king back when Overkill was still the top difficulty, and remained quite strong even during the early Death Wish days. (yes, even back when Grinder was offering near-immortality through constant health-gate resets)
Really great breakdown, glad to see that every difficulty is mentioned not only DS (personally I play only on DS but I understand why most people don't), I my personal opinion a thing that is overlooked a lot are "Gating" decks, i.e. for health gating Ex-prez and Grinder and for armor gating like Anar and Socio, sure they get played a lot especially anar but whenever a talk of playstyles its always "Dodge or Armor" all of these 3 play styles have their boons and drawbacks dodge is fast but not consistent, Armor is extremely consistent but slow, and gating decks can be both fast and consistent but require the most skillful play since for most of them you need to perfectly time kills/dmg dealt, to stay afloat and these are the ones I personally stick too, can't wait for more content like this from you. Oh and also do you have a modlist because the game looks stunning and I'd want to check it out

Dodge has other benefits, like you wear a suit so might as well run crits cause the suit is low detection. I know unseen strike is good but that’s points and if u are tanking your probably going to need those points for ictv or zerk. I wish there was a perk deck that gave you more armor and converted armor points into a crit chance. Don’t make it as high like the 30% from low blow but like 1% for every 10 points of armor and like a 30% more armor overall deck would be cool.
I think armor is the best, because I have the principle that, u should never rely on luck to complete Death Sentence (or atleast, I think that would be very poor game design, but again, Overkill Software is no stranger to that).
Haha I was in a death sentence lobby and everyone had dodge-medic bag builds so I told them I can use my armorer-ammo build since ammo bags are kind of a must in ds. The host didn’t even tell me not to, I just instantly got kicked

I will say dodge when using the rogue perk deck is a great way to get new players into the game. The have a dodge of 50 and dont get smashed into the face with all the berserk, melee, amor, unseen strike shenanigan's. Hell I first played in 2014 and mostly messed with dodge. When sicario came out I branched a bit into armor because of the shots adding dodge. Now I am starting to pop into unseen strike and am going to try melee skills soon. I will say you got invincibility frames like when you got shot when you used to dodge, they changed this about 6 years ago so you dont get the invincibility frames. I will say dodge for me is when I just want to relax while playing payday. My build when I do this is grimm shotgun, akimbo biker heist smg, and running hacker with jokers. For me it is just so relaxing. I play in a very similar way to armor players when I play with hacker. Unless I pop the ecm when I go rambo. For me I find dodge constantly working for me. Like it honestly feels like I dodge about 50% based on my playstyle. I would feel like you would have to see my gameplay to understand. It's like I run the same mindset from 2014-2016 I only had crew chief with the biggest armor. In 2017 I started watching connor shaw and used dodge and had alot of fun. I dont run willy nilly into cops when playing death sentance and mostly death wish. There is a danger there but it depends on if you want to have a consistant fall back option, or a somewhat inconsistant fall back option. I still recommend bullseye on all builds sep with stoic. On a closing note, I always found it cool was that in payday 2 when compared to the first was that you have a different way of playing the game that can still work well.
That's generally what makes payday 2 a much better game compared to the first one. Excluding the bloat in this one, it offers much more variety nonetheless. : )

Now im wondering, if the hacker deck gives you 20 dodge points upon activating the pocket ECM, or during any ECM, wouldnt that mean theres a chance you can make an ICTV/Frenzy/Pseudo dodge build? If thats possible then that build could be used as a good fallback option if, lets say, you do first world bank and let your friends stealth while you hang back with a heavy loadout just in case if it all goes loud.
I prefer dodge because I don't like the slower play-style of Armorer and prefer more aggressive play, however I will admit Armorer is still very good and also has good survivability along with being more reliable overall. But again, I just find something like rogue (my go to dodge deck) more fun then Armorer. Once again, another well made video

While i agree that armor can offer better survival chance. I think you forgot other reason why dodge can be better. Detection risk. DR is important for low blow which give your weapon a chance to deal 3x the damage. And unlike dodge, crits can proc more often and dont give you a risk to yourself when it failed. This give dodge a higher potential to creating space and when you make space you dont have to worry about getting shot. While with armor with no access to crit (or use weaker weapon just for crit) you will have harder time making space and run more risk of getting shot.
It's my personal reason why I don't use ictv setups, but on most ictv decks you can run berserker (while you don't really do that on dodge decks) which balances it out. :p
It's easy, Armor is good pre-mayhem, Dodge is good post mayhem by default, some perks give armor more value so running it to dw is a good idea sometimes, but overall stoic is still op
cool vid but you overlooked a few things. even though you clarified that 75% does not mean you will dodge 75% of all bullets you still treat chance like it's something somewhat consistent, which it isnt thus you should not rely on it. if anything dodge should be treated like a bonus, so play like you didnt have dodge, that way you will avoid being let down by dodge when you need it most. other thing, not all armor decks need ictv. you also ignored stuff like anarchist armor gating. you can perfectly play armorer with, say, HBV instead of ictv for extra speed and itll still work fine, why? because it has a 100% chance to make sure your health bar doesnt take damage. the only thing that can make armor somewhat unreliable are snipers and explosives given that they ignore armor gating. that's why the worst enemy of an anarchist main will always be snipers. alternatively for even higher consistency than armor you could run stoic or leech given that those decks throw armor out the window and just focus on health, granted they do it in different ways. armor will always be better than dodge no matter how you look at it, becasue you can always count on it when you need it most. it wont let you down because of bad roll of the dice. however if you want relatively consistent dodge, sicario exists. Sicario straight up lets you stand in front of a swat van and take no health damage WITH the use of the smoke bomb and progressive dodge increase. Sicario and hacker are the best dodge decks in the game, given that they have the highest dodge chances. But point still stands armor will always be better than relying on a roll of the dice to save your ass.
Can't agree here with you. If I were to treat dodge as just a bonus and not something I can use to huge advantage I would never be able to play as aggressively as I do. And with enough focus I can no down 10 heists in a row while reasonably relying on dodge.

Theres only so many shots you can take as sicario before it forces you to dodge. Meanwhile with armor any amount of armor works, granted the more shots it allows you to tank the better.
i personally prefer muscle instead of armorer, because it heals 3% and makes you into a walking, breathing and talking block of gorilla meat which fell into cement. why? so i dont have to waste my 14 first aid kits when im low and can give them to my teammates and dont have to actively think while walking around with my iron sight with red laser sniper rifle and logger
Armor, i'd say cuz it could help you survive better and is guaranteed unlike dodge. Plus there is a thing, which is when dodge works your screen goes full white.

Luck has nothing to do with it. Learn about "dodge cooldown". Ok and below 1.5 sec Mham+ 7.5 ms. What is dodge cooldown? If you dodge you will dodge everything EQUAL or lower of the damage you dodged. If the damage is higher its a hit.

The truth is that (to my knowledge) for dodge to work and be even remotely "reliable" you need quite a high chance, thats why sicario is so good. Theres only so many shots you can take as sicario before it forces you to dodge. Meanwhile with armor any amount of armor works, granted the more shots it allows you to tank the better.

i personally prefer muscle instead of armorer, because it heals 3% and makes you into a walking, breathing and talking block of gorilla meat which fell into cement. why? so i dont have to waste my 14 first aid kits when im low and can give them to my teammates and dont have to actively think while walking around with my iron sight with red laser sniper rifle and logger

Armor, i'd say cuz it could help you survive better and is guaranteed unlike dodge. Plus there is a thing, which is when dodge works your screen goes full white.

Przeniosłem się na sicario, jest bardziej "do wszystkiego" dla mnie. DODGE pozwala na pasywniejszą ochronę ale także gdy trzeba ruszać albo coś zrobić pozwala na szybką i agresywniejszą akcje, plus granat dymny jest świetny pod robienie celu.
