It always warms my heart to see Gunther having a good time with you. When I have to re-home my foster dogs I just live it when the new parent has social media or stays in touch regularly. When I see Ginther having a good time with you I feel the same joy I feel with my fosters knowing they went to a good home. You two are a great match and thank you for loving a dog that needed a home. Happy gotcha day you two!
Wow! A year already?!? Gunther hit the jackpot with you as his new "mom"! The two of you really hit it off, you are both so lucky to have found each other!
I always wait until the evening to watch these videos. No matter how stressful my day is, hanging out with M and G, who always do something chill, is perfect. It’s a vibe. Never end the day stressed. Thanks, Martha. 👍
my grand mother on mom's side had a couple pink flamingos in her front garden. for that reason alone , my mom would hate this place. the pink flamingoes out front. happy gunther day.
Yay its officially camping season! I have been watching all your camping videos this year and it has given me so much inspiration for my car camping set up. I'm finally camping as an adult. I used to go with my family as a kid and loved it but we didn't go often. So excited to see what's to come this season!
Right off the bat a car humidifier, what?!? That's awesome! You're history lesson reminds me of Angie on Tour, I think, who is 30 years younger than us but filled with nomadic poetic beauty. Meanwhile, that place looks like a vibe there! Even if evenings are about chickens. No judgement as that's a thing in NC. Thanks for sharing and that Gunther! Omgee had no idea about Lisa Frank there, yay for paint guerrillas 🎨
I enjoyed watching your hike in the Mt. Lemon area and the history. The Hipcamp, what an interesting place to visit! So happy for you and Gunther, one year! He's a lucky little guy.
What a great trip! Interesting history behind the hiking area. The camp spot was definitely unique compared to your usual spots, but that made it all the more intriguing to me. And it had a fun vibe, even if it was too peopley for you. And as someone from a certain generation it was really fun and interesting to see and hear about all things Lisa Frank! Happy anniversary to one cute pupper and his family. Thanks for taking us along!
Thanks! For a Friday-Saturday trip, it wasn't nearly as busy as I had expected. It helped that the other guests were pretty low-key. It seems they spent most of their time at their sites (a couple I spoke with worked remotely), or off exploring, and only gathered around dinner and movie time. So very tolerable, even for an introvert like me. 😅 Oh yah, I had the Lisa Frank stickers, the Trapper-Keeper 💖 🌈 I first heard about how absolutely unhinged the workplace was, years ago, from a former boss of mine, who once was an illustrator there. I always thought he was exaggerating a little, until later on, when the articles appeared on the internet. Wild! 😳
@@ShoestringMartha I hadn’t heard of the drama until you talked about it! Also, the Britney plant shop!!! How did you not buy something?! It’s so easy to go to a plant store and buy all the things! Plus then you could’ve used an iconic Britney line - Oops I did it again!
I was SO tempted, if anything, for the joke 😂 Just unfortunate timing, as there was an inventory snag, so there weren’t many plants available at that moment. 😞
What a cool place to camp ! I usually prefer to be out in nature, but this place would be a different kind of adventure. A nice change of pace. We finally said good riddance to the last batch of winter snow here in Minnesota and I’m so eager to go CAMPING! Always enjoy your videos.
Happy Adoptiversary, Gunther! ❤ And dangit, I didn't realize that there was a Hipcamp code I could have provided for my first Hipcamp, since your channel was the first place I'd heard of it. Just did my first Hipcamp last weekend: a 'proof of concept' car camp in my 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT hatchback, which went very well, albeit a tight squeeze. Good thing I'm short and bendy. 😅
That subscriber fact at the end is a good idea. I follow another channel down in Cochise county for ages ago and now they are at 100k+. It would be great nostalgia to see what their #s were back before their 30-day build marathon. 101degrees today and it is still only April 😢😮!!
Love this Hip Camp spot you found! Looks like you're traveling back in time there... I'd love to come check it out 😊 Happy Gotcha Day to Gunther! 🐈 Hope you enjoy many more adventures together 💞
And word is, they're back in business -- which explains the new paint. I wanted to do an update, last time I was down there, but just didn't have time.
I look forward to watching all your Vids! I am heading to AZ in a few days, making scenic stops for a few overnighters before heading to Prescott. Figured out how to get to Edge of the world, and will be braving that bumpy road in my almost 20 year old Honda Element “Beast-E”. May go to Childs Campground if it seems hospitable. I have a whole month in AZ to do what I wish. Not as savvy at filming anything but may try something. I will use your HipCamp referral too. Also I am an eBay reseller and vintage Lisa Frank goes for good $, so I was excited to see you stop there.
I believe in you (and Beast-E!)! You’ll love it there, and enjoy your Arizona adventure ❤️🌵 Be sure to check out the lakes in Prescott; they’re otherworldly 🤩
I'm subbed, love your videos, and suv layout. You've got me hooked. What is a "hip camp?" I'm in East Central Georgia ready to try out suv camping. Places around here only allow RVs and motor homes. Should I practice in my treey backyard?
Sure why not?! I've heard of people doing driveway tests, so why not the backyard? Hipcamp is kind of like AirBnB for camping -- people rent out part of their to campers. The facilities and amenities vary quite a bit. Some are RV only, but there are plenty of tent and/or SUV places as well -- at least out here. hipcamp.com/i/shoestringmartha
To be honest, I'd rather be boondocking in the middle of nowhere with no people around. But, with that being said, this looked like such a funky and cool place to check out!
Yeah it wouldn’t be an all the time thing for me, but I really enjoyed it, would definitely return sometime. Next time, I’m headed to the woods, however 😄
Gunther is one lucky pup to have found his happy forever home with you. I love that you take him on the camping adventures with you.

Thank you, and for all you do for the doggos 🥰
I only come to watch your channel for Gunther! 😅😉
Honestly I don’t blame ya 😍
AWWWW!!!! Hoorah for Gunther!! He is such a wonderul addition. 😁😁

That is exactly the sweet spot I’m aiming for … glad to hear they’re hitting just right 😌✨

Happy Forever Family Day, Gunther!
What a cute place to stay. We will have to check it out. Thanks for the 411.
Not an all-the-time sort of place, but a really fun change of pace, that's for sure. 😄
Ah. Happy Gotcha day, Gunther❤
. My rescue was adopted on earth day too. 7 years ago What a cool camping spot. Love your channel ❤
Happy Anniversary Gunther!!! Such a lucky boy ❤

Martha, I enjoyed the video and Gunther's celebration. Cheers, Mate.
❤😂🎉 WOW Homie I’m so happy I was able to help y’all. And another awesome video ❤❤❤
haha! Yay glad you saw it!! 🥰
We all love Gunther! I’m digging your hair too! That wave up front reminds me of my time at Santa Cruise, California, surfs up!
LOL some days it's Jimmy Neutron and other days, it's Cable Guy 😅
Thank you for a great video and happy Pup anniversary for you all ❤

lol I'm a terrible marketer! Glad you enjoyed your stay, and yes, sometimes it pays to be a pipsqueak. 😅
Not sure how this video has escaped me all this time. Very cool!! Looks like a great place
It was! Total European hostel vibes. 😎 At least, as I remember them from the 90s 😅

This was so much fun guys 🎉❤🎉
That place looks like great fun. I’m way far east, but it would be lots of fun to visit.
Looks like a cool place! I might get one of those evaporative coolers to try here in West Texas. Happy Gotcha Day to you and Gunther! ♥
Sweet setup ❤
The hip camp was kinda cool. Lisa Frank! I used to collect stickers when I was in elementary. I didn't know that was down in Tucson. tfs
And word is, they're back in business -- which explains the new paint. I wanted to do an update, last time I was down there, but just didn't have time.
Thanks for the info. I will try to check it out the next time I’m down there.
This is a really cool place. Would Gunther use a small collapsible pool to stay cool?
He is not a fan of water. We have a splash pad at home, and he will only go into -- reluctantly -- to chase his brother.
