Pete Best was a Beatle, when he was needed. Then came Ringo turn . I'm a Beatles fan with Pete Best and with Ringo Starr.

Regardless of the Best vs Ringo debate, which I think is ridiculous, Best was part of the Beatle history which is quite fascinating. They sounded so young and raw compared to their studio work.

Pete lost his job beacuse he didn't show up to gigs and Ringo sat in. Ringo fit. That is from George. Pete lied for decades. He sucked also.

If they would of stayed a live band (with no record contract), Pete was definitely their man. He was a good drummer, popular with the fans and helped create their popularity in Liverpool. However, Ringo was a better drummer musically, and proved to be a steady asset when they started recording.

@@johnpritchard2054 Ya Pete sucking at recording is huge. Most of Ringos famous drum additions would not exist. Who cares what happened in Liverpool compared to the world. The girls like Pete. That never mattered.

Rubbish. Pete missed TWO days in TWO YEARS. And your choice of words that Pete, *"didn't show up to gigs"*, reveals your blatant bias against him, as you're clearly implying that he gave no notice that he couldn't make it. The fact is, Pete was sick the first time and HE called his mate Ringo and asked him to cover for him. Ringo, who was a phony mate if ever there was one, was only happy to oblige, as that was December of '61 and he had coveted Pete's job since the first time he saw The Beatles play in October of '60. The only other time Pete couldn't make it was because he had a court date, in March of '62, he couldn't get out of, about which he gave his bandmates and manager Brian Epstein ample notice. As for your blanket statement, "he sucked also", ummmm, yeah...that's why they kept him for TWO YEARS. lol Nitwit. smh

@@johnpritchard2054 I hear what you're saying, but I think even if they never made it big and just stayed a local band playing clubs, they would have tired of Best. He is just a plodding, sloppy drummer and even now, after all these years, his live videos show that he can't play any better than he did 50 years ago. The Beatles were still who they are and they would have tried to keep up with the times and play more and more complicated and interesting music. Best would have become a boat anchor and a frustration for them.

For the last 20 odd years Pete has always had 2 drummers in his band.
Pete is just the face of his band who sits out hitting a simple drum beat whilst the other drummer does the more complicated stuff
