RENAULT LAGUNA 2 -problem with ignition

- Hi. My car is Laguna 2 phase 1 1.8 petrol 121 HP produced 2002-Initiale.
The problem is the following:
-when I put the card has no contact to the dashboard, radio works, clock, the windows work, unlocks and locks with the map and the buttons too, and nothing else.
-red light glows steadily.
-when I put the other card, again nothing .
-the steering wheel is not locked.
-freaked out terminals of battery for about 15-20 min, again nothing.
Problem Solved
Cleaning up connections,checking fuses and accidentally i press with the finger to a relays which are located on the block with fuses on the back side, the dashboard flashed ,suddenly contact is came to the dashboard, I pressed the start button and the car started, now everything is O'K .

The problem sometimes is repeated, but when I will knock Relay, problem disappears.
Well what I can say,
I can't thank you enough
It was a guy here, who had this problem more than a month already, he brought electricians home to see his car , mechanics and some other peoples , but no chance , each one of them put him to change something, one told him to change the card, another said that it need another ECU with imobilizer and the list can continue,
He was already depresed about this, because he really needed his car to bring his childrens to school and not only.
Last week someone gave him my number and he called me, I asked him to bring his car at my place so I can investigate the problem.
After a quick search, I found this video,
I did exactly the same , as you said, I actually took everithing out from the relay and fuses panel, and all the plugs I tooked them out, cleaned with a Contact Cleaner spray, after I mounted everything back on, voala, magic happened, everything worked perfect.

@@vasilemarius4293 Si eu am patit-o exact cu 2 zile in urma, uite asa am ajuns sa ma documentez azi pe site. I-am pus si baterie nou nouta si tot n-a vrut. Dupa ce m-am tot invartit pe langa ea vreo 3 ore, masina a pornit intr-un final dar cu ambele pedale (ambreiaj si frana) apasate. Se pare totusi ca problema este in pedala de ambreiaj (fie se scoate, se demonteaza si se curata contactele electrice, fie se inlocuieste). Urmeaza sa ma ocup de problema saptamanile urmatoare (sa vad unde gasesc niste prelungitoare de cheie tubulara sa pot desface cele 3 suruburi cu care este prinsa pedala de podea. :) Tu cred ca deja ai rezolvat-o :)

@@murrain91 Hi, from Bucharest Romania. Try to start the car with both pedals (clutch and brake) pressed (this worked for me). However, it seems that the problem is in the clutch pedal (either remove, disassemble and clean the electrical contacts, or replace it)
I don’t know how, but somehow it fixed my car watching this video while sitting inside the car. I haven’t done anything else and now it reads my key again :)

A bit late but probably in your card reader u have broken small plastic thing which push small button inside reader (same as You turn key in other cars to 2nd position).
was these system optional or serial in these car?

Got this terrible problem to , my problem was the Card Reader !!! under in the dashboard , get a few Readers secondhand at the Junkyard and try again , BINGO, all was working for a few Euros . keep one extra on board if happen again ... was easy to remove incl the connections .

Thank you man I had the same problem and I needed to remove the red relay and then the lights came up then I put the relay back and now it's ok ... does someone know what is the relay for ?

if my timing belt de serpiente does not move what could be the fault my red lights on oil and battery and overheating are due to this belt not moving could it be one of the bearings which are either the tension wheel or air conditiong or oil pump or starter motor

+rogirs buy a second hand car reader, i changed my card reader, it whas working, but it didnt work like the key is in the first pozistion, and i changed the reader with another that i buyed with 110 euros.

In my case, the problem was in in the connection of the relays of this module (or perhaps some condensation),I did not change anything,I just took them out and I sprayed UHC module with WD40 and then I brought them back.And now everything is fine.

Hallo können sie mir sagen was das Problem war habe genau das selbe problem
Anschlüsse säubern, Sicherungen prüfen und aus Versehen drücke ich mit dem Finger auf ein Relais welches sich auf dem Block mit Sicherungen auf der Rückseite befindet, das Armaturenbrett blinkte, plötzlich kam Kontakt zum Armaturenbrett, ich drückte den Startknopf und das Auto sprang an , jetzt ist alles gut .

Lo scorso anno mi è successo questo problema portato l'auto alla Renault di zona con il carro attrezzi e la diagnosi era bloccasterzo che non dava l'impulso di corrente al quadro e non leggeva la chiavi cioè la scheda preventivo 600 euro il ricambio più il lavoro una spesa non da poco per un'auto datato cercando su internet leggo di un laboratorio di elettronica in Sicillia che costruiva degli adattatori che poteva fare a caso mio.
Non ci credevo ma o voluto tentare contatto il laboratorio e mi dice che non c'erano problemi. ORDINO l'oggetto con una spesa irrisoria da non crederci Euro 46.ripeto euro 46.alla Renault avevo naturalmente bloccato tutto quando vado con il pezzo si fanno una risata ma insisto e lo faccio montare eliminano il pezzo rotto e inseriscono il mio primo contatto proema risolto tutti rimasti a bocca aperta neanche loro sapevano dell'esistenza di questo ADATTATORE Con neanche cento euro o risolto il mio problema smontando il vecchio e rimettere il nuovo ynora di lavoro.saluti
