Definitely! Those units are great. I am not sure that the microMIDI allows you to adjust the polarity of the switch, which is necessary for the A/B functionality of the Backtrack. Of course, you can program the switcher to get around this, just adds a step when programming (not the end of the world).
Quick other question, with the patch changes through midi, how did you guys compensate for the audio delay? I have a quad cortex and we do midi changes but there is a .5 sec audio dropout and def don't want that live lol

Could you accomplish the same thing by switching the output with the backtrack and just using a buffered split for the input? it seems like switching the input with the aby adds unnecessary complexity.
You could split the signal pre-QCs with a buffered split. We have done this and a number of other things to split the signal before the QCs. The reason the A/B/Y was used in this scenario is mainly for the tuner output. Now, the reason the Bigshot (in particular) was used, is because it was what we had in stock and needed to meet their deadline. If you do not need the tuner output - the Lehle P-split is a great option from our experience. If you need the tuner output or are running multiple inputs the possibilities are endless. We have another video going more in depth on that.

Do you mean if you connect the PA12 to the Backtrack? Inverting the control switch there? Yes, you can.

Not sure. The artist has been doing this for a bit with MIDI patching and no audio delay reported
