I’d argue that his first win kinda came when he told Takagi that he would visit her when she was sick and that he doesn’t want her to leave his life. The answers, were, in a way, kind of forced, but you know he was still genuine in those responses.
Also, the sick answer comes to fruition in the manga (Chapter 160).
