    told my wife about this recipe last night when I saw it would be available today before football games. Lucky us, we have all the ingredients already at home.....well, since she is Gluten intolerant, we just used GF penne pasta and just roasted some garden tomatoes instead of canned. She went crazy about it and I was surprised how easy it was and how much flavor it had. Thanks so much, this is a keeper for cheap easy bi weekly or monthly staple now.

    Thanks! I’ve made sausage and peppers in my instant pot before (without the pasta), and it turned out great. I’m excited to try your one-pot recipe with the pasta in it in my new Ninja Foodie! Your recipe has some other changes as well (the roasted garlic, balsamic, tomato paste...) that I want to try. One note I have is that I like spicy dishes, but found that I really prefer the spices in the sweet Italian sausage (the addition of fennel especially), so I always use all sweet Italian sausage, and add the red pepper flakes. Thank you for your recipe! I especially loved your tip to cut the sausage in its casing using kitchen shears!

    I just tried the recipe for the first time tonight!!! WOW!!! I have pretty much never cooked anything of any substance other than throwing some meat on a grill, or opening a can of this or that. At 61, a year or so ago I bought bought my first Ninja pressure cooker/airfryer, just to see what I could do with it. Pretty soon I found out, not much, unless you know a recipe, and HOW it all gets thrown together. Then, The Salted Pepper entered my life! This recipe was great tasting and kind of easy to make. Still a little prep work for ME, but I'm just a beginner. It was fantastic, and even my wife was impressed with my creation, even though I watched your video as I went along on the recipe, sometimes rewinding, and a whole lot of pausing, to catch up with you. Thanks, I'll be trying out more recipes as my schedule allows. I even bought a pair of kitchen shears on your suggestion!! Cutting up the sausage was a breeze!! Keep up the great work!!!

    I made this tonight and DH actually liked it. He likes all the ingredients but doesn't like "casseroles" or messed up dishes. And like everyone else, I will modify next time. Fewer peppers although I love them, add a single link of smoked italian sausage, more pasta and so more broth and less tomato paste. I screwed up twice....put the paste in before I stirred and then forgot the balsamic which I put in before the cheese. It was very tasty and easy to make it. Thanks for all you do.

    Made this tonight and could not get it to come up to pressure. Checked after w5 minutes and decided to add more broth to help. While that may have helped with the pasta, it didn’t solve the problem of coming to pressure. However, by the time I tapped out and declared defeat, the pasta was done so I stirred it, put it in another pan, added the cheese and put it under the broiler to brown the cheese. It was a hit with all of us, including our 18 yr old granddaughter who had stopped in to chat for a moment. Great recipe!

      Have you done the water test to check to make sure your pressure cooker is functioning properly? This recipe doesn't usually cause any issues for people with coming to pressure. I'm glad it worked out in the end! Let me know if you want to troubleshoot the issue you had, just email me at louise@thesaltedpepper.com

    Louise have you found a secret to removing the trivet easily from the AF basket? I feel like it is deliberately trying to break my fingers and nails. Thanks

    Can you substitute a jar of marinara sauce for the tomatoes?

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  3 года назад

      The marinara sauce is going to be thicker, but it will probably work if you put it on top and don't stir it in until after the PC time.

    One thing I don’t like about Teflon or ceramic inserts is that they’re lousy at browning and you never get a good fond. Other than that this looks delicious. I love how explanatory she is in her videos. I halved this recipe and used an Instant Pot and it came out fantastic.
