Lol prices are still through the roof. Auto insurance is up 20% since 2020, as an example. I farm rice for a living. A few thousand acres. Prior to Joe's economy, it cost me $900/acre to grow a rice crop. It's up to $2000-$2500/acre. Those are real numbers. How is it that the economy is getting better? If my expenses have more than doubled, what are other industries' expenses doing? All of that expense gets pushed onto the consumer.

Duckhunt 1902: I am a retired farmer, and all commodities went up in 2020. As you know, whenever prices go up, the first people in a farmer's pocket are fertilizer and herbicide businesses. On average the price you receive for rice is (roughly) 25% higher than before 2020. Eventually the price of land, or rent, catches up to higher crop prices. I hope, and suspect, overall you are making more money now than you did in 2018. Trump's tariffs did nothing for crop prices. It took a pandemic to jumpstart them. Farmers NEVER get the best out of ANY economy, and you know it.

The house could have easily taken the senate bill and changed it to their liking and sent it back to the them for a final vote. What I'm realizing is just how expensive war is, not only in lives, but financially! If it's costing us billions and billions to merely support a distant war with weaponry, and no troops, how much must it cost to actually have boots on the ground? I work construction. I’ve been an electrician since 79. Trump was not the best years at all. He just said it was. The best years we ever had were back in the 70s and 80s. But I have more work now than I have since Bill Clinton was in office. There are standing calls in Union halls. My son‘s best friend just went from being an apprentice carpenter with a non-union outfit to being an electrician apprentice with a union outfit on the same job site. Unis are making a comeback underneath grandpa. He has a good cabinet behind him, all good presidents too. I’ll take team Biden over team confusion any day

Regular people don't care or don't trust the numbers. They care about how they feel, and for whatever reason, a great many of them do not have a good feeling about the economy. It's a sentiment born from emotion. The numbers may be getting better and may be entirely true, but it doesn't overpower the emotional response.
Groceries are high. Corporations are gouging Americans.

Yes, I'm an economist. It is called Fiscal drag. It really annoys me that Obama inherited an ecomnomy in crisis (collapse of Lehmans, housing and financial crisis; and collapse of car industry. It took 4 years for Obama to reverse this. The $700b bailout for the banks was actually architected under Bush... it was just up to obama to spend it - yet the Republicans complained and tea partied the whole of his presidency. Yet Trump inherited an economy in good order - which of course he took the credit for.
As a Democrat, is was so irritating to hear Klobuchar ignore voter concerns. It's not sufficient to say "the other side is worse", especially when we've funded MAGA nuts in the 2022 primaries. This rhetoric is a real turn off.

Isn't there a protocol he must adhere to? Did he work with his counter parts? If he cannot abide by policy and protocol, he needs to be replaced. What else would he 'overlook' for his 'interests?' I'd like to see the actual time line everyone was 'informed' before his actions. As a former federal officer, if one of my staff went out of line of command, policy and protocol without prior notice and permission, and acted as a maverick for his agenda, I would've brought him/her in and inquired of the reason. Deliberated of the possible consequences to all parties, and, would temporarily suspended him/her until, all facts are brought out. If a 'woman' in government did this, she'd be slapped down for her maverick actions, and I think he should be too. If he fudges a little now, what is he capable of in the future? Do I want to trust this man globally? I think not. Actions have consequences.

@@LionDiamond-ow1xy Don't underestimate the effect on inflation of corporate greed. During the troubling times of rapid inflation, it seems corporations found an opportunity to increase prices or lower value to increase corporate profit margins.
Inflation hit the whole world hard after COVID. Wasn't just the US that suffered from it. Looking at how prices have skyrocketed over the past years, many do not take into account corporate greed. How do we stop these inflated prices? I was listening to an economist on a talk show and her recommendation was to stop buying the product. Easy to say, some items are difficult not to buy.
We not only experienced almost 10% inflation but experienced "shrink-inflation" where product size gets smaller and price remains the same or goes up. I once bought a certain brand of soda at $4.00/12 and now it's $6.00/12 that is a 50% increase, inflation was near 10% why a 50% increase? Take notice if what you buy has shrunk over the past year or so. Look at the chart of corporate margins, profits are healthy.
