- It’s okay to show the bad side of business, my cargo van broke down & had to get a rental, I can’t stop fulfilling my contracts or I lose them!
These are the 3 most common mistakes I’ve seen happen since I’ve started my cargo van business almost 2 years ago. The point of this video is to hopefully help you avoid falling into one of these situations. The key is, do your research. Locally where you would want to start your business, and decide from there which route to take as you gather information and start to understand the business a little bit. Stick around for my journey, ask questions if you have any and between all of us, we can learn together. Stay hustling!

Big Tony, appreciate the shout-out 👍🏾. Bro, your video is on point, love the cinematography (I think that's the right word). Thanks for sharing all this knowledge from the contract side of this business. I'm always taking notes when you drop one, hopefully when I build my fleet up I can land one of those contracts. Keep em coming 👊🏾
Thanks my man! It’s like a passion I didn’t know I had! Im just trying to make the videos fun and I interesting. But hey, I be taking notes too you be giving out great game & motivation 🙌 respect brother.
Tony, you always look good bro!
Just a minor set back. Once all repairs and maintenance done, its money making for a while until anything is due again 💯
Yes sir! All vehicles breaks and need maintenance. This was nothing, we still getting it 😈
Finally someone don’t live on west coast I was from NJ still have family there but now I live in PA just subscribed to your page.
Much love brother! Thanks for the support 🙏
Where u at in PA? Lehigh county? Tryna link with van drivers to build a team over here.
@@ToddRogers00 No Scranton PA out here sucks very low job opportunities why want start my business I live in NJ all my life until 6 yrs ago
Shout out to Big CJ Respectfully ! I watch both Y’all channels and learn something new all the time
Appreciate you bro 👊🏾
🙌😎
There are local deals by me where you can rent a cargo van for a few hundred for the week. I noticed some loadboards require insurance and registration info, and I'm not sure if I can do that if the van is rented. It sounds to me like renting at the rate I mentioned would be fairly affordable depending on the work I could get but frankly I'm not sure where to find work applicable to my rental situation.
I spend 670 a week for electric cargo van with Penske, drive about 1000 miles a week with “dat one loadboard” make roughly a little over 3k a week on local loads.
Thanks a lot for the information man
Always! Check out the latest video!
Man you are such an inspiration, keep the great content coming

🙌 Thanks for the love bro! Will do!
im just go back to trucking
I'm glad you bringing these things up. I've set up everything for myself in the business I'm in New York right now. I know you're in Jersey. I'm doing this as a side business for now i stillhave a job. Just so I can keep the funds coming in to keep this business running
That’s amazing. Kinda like how I did it, I was getting ready on the side until I was %100. Take your time & Don’t rush into anything. Do it right. 🙌
@@Tony.Ruiz08 Right now I'm having a problem with deci think. Which vehicle should I get meaning high roof sprinter or something small like? What you haven't decided yet which one i'm gonna go with
Hey Tony! I appreciate your content as I am looking to start soon. What tools should I use for local research? I plan on finding local contracts and using gig apps, but where do find the market information? Thanks bro and keep grinding!
RUclips is a great tool. Ask around, Anything you can get your hands on that has info. Look for job opportunities in your local area using job searching apps. Look into expediting (OTR opportunities) or maybe gig apps(download a couple a check out the demand in your area)
True
Hey, what insurance you have and how much you pay for the cargo Van insurance?
How much monthly insurance roughly? Thanks.
Mista Ruiz thanks for the video. could you explain to me how to go about hiring/paying an employee for a contract. thanks brudda
You can hire people under your LLC, as long as you got the manpower and the vehicles, you can request more routes
It’s cost to be the boss💪🏼
That’s 100% correct!
Awesome video are you looking for drivers now?
Where you located?
@@Tony.Ruiz08 I moved from Hackensack ,NJ to Lehigh Valley Allentown ,Pa
Hey ruiz i have a question, if you had to start all over again , what would you do different. In terms of getting a van would you start with the trans connect or the econoline . Would you have gotten your aurthority earlier or later. Local contract or out of state contracts. Especially if you live very close to the state line. I want to start but i need these, they would be a great help in my decision to start.
Hey brother, this is such an amazing question and I hate to answer it so late, first of all, I don’t have authority. And the best thing I could’ve done, I did, which is buy a low budget cargo van. And lastly (which is probably why I haven’t answer) I’m a newly dad so I’d rather stay local as I am. Again, I’m sorry for the late reply idk how I hadn’t reply yet!
thx bro im trying to decide if is hould buy one or rent one
I’d rather buy one. Renting is only good if it’s not eating so much of your profits.
hey tony. we have a ford focus. whats your idea how to use this car for profit? thingking of myself to have a day job and use the car afterwards for a medical delivery guy... illinois are. thanks brother.
Have you tried any gig apps? Sign up for some and try it out!
@@Tony.Ruiz08 il consider this Tony thanks
Can you recommend a good Factoring Company for cargo vans? Cant find good rates any help would be great
Thanks your channel has been very helpful
thank you !
The best factoring company you can use is yourself. Manage your money properly and don't use a factoring company. Keep that money in your pocket.
Hey! Where you located? Let’s help you out! & Money in your pockets don’t make money. Gotta spend money to make money.
@@Tony.Ruiz08 When I said keep that money in your pocket, I mean it's better in your possession than a factoring company. I am located in San Antonio. I ran my own semi without the use of a factoring company. Some of them charge as much as 6%. If you average $20,000/month, you would be paying $1200/month in factoring fees. You could easily add more vans to your fleet with that money.
Big Dog! Any tips on how to find work? Any load boards you might recommend?
Check out my latest video. It’s about finding contracts
So where they get the 20 bucks a day from…I hate that they advertise that…got a uhaul from dc to nc and paid almost 800 bucks…they need to just be upfront with their cost
It’s outrageous! Never again!
What up Tony , I’m really thinking of making the move to a cargo van business and I’m from jersey . Just wondering how good the market is around jersey?
It’s not bad at all. Most companies don’t require a year limit for the vans which is good if you wanna start with a low budget van. Just gotta do your research, also, depends what part of jersey you are from. Lmk, I’ll be around 😎
@@Tony.Ruiz08 good looking bro . I’m located in the Bergen county section of jersey. I’m still trying to learn as much as I can from you and others on RUclips . Basically mapping out my plans.
You can’t apply for contracts with out having the info of your van so how can you not buy the van first ???
However you find it best.
hello do u recommend starting out with a rental instead of purchasing a cargo van when starting out ?
It’s possible you can. Just crunch some numbers, will you still be profitable after paying for the van?
As you saw in this video, I ended up paying way more than I thought, I couldn’t survive much longer with those Uhaul rates.
Hey I hope everything goes well, I have a question, how I know if in my city I have some opportunities with in cargo van business?
The way I find contracts in my area is online through indeed. You can also use any other job searching app. Opportunities may vary depending on locations. When searching, use key words related to cargo van.
Ex:
“Cargo Van Courier”
“Independent contractor cargo van”
“Owner operator cargo van”
Depending on the demand in your area something should come up and that’s when you look at the requirements such as vehicle year and insurance level required. Hope this helps!
@@Tony.Ruiz08 Thank you brother!
@@exoticvive for sure brother. I’ll try to make a short video about it.
Is anyone doing this in Chicago ??
Is there a problem with buying a van with rear windows?
Not at all. Mainly owner’s preference.
How do I get in touch with you bro
Info on bio
Could you have gone on priceline to find a van to rent?
Yes, I could’ve rent it out of anywhere that rents. Although it was late, uhaul was my only option. This place was 24/7

🙌😎😎
Guys trynna figure out van or box struck which makes more money ?
The bigger the better. Some vans got better fuel efficiency and pay less tolls. They both got pros & cons but choose the one that would serve more purpose to your business.
@@Tony.Ruiz08 now getting into the business don’t knot nothing about it mean zero idea but been watching your videos
Need help starting my cargo business
What you need help with?
I need to know if I’m renting from a private owner and they have passenger plates but I have commercial insurance how does that work when hauling shipments?
Do you recommending renting at first?
I do not. But if somehow you can do it and be profitable, and renting is your only option.. then yes. But the logistics of it better off owning one for MORE profits/cashflow . But again, if you can rent and still make a profit, go for it.
