taking a hit is unreliable as if you are still too close,they still chase you.also,especcialy on slower characters,sprint bursting can just,not really help sometimes,since by holding sprint you're actively making distance from the twisted while sprint bursting keeps them close.items are also underrated in my opinion
Taking a hit IS unreliable, I agree, since if you’re out of stamina, or you’re a slow character, or there’s no cover nearby, or there’s more than one Twisted chasing you, it doesn’t really work. Sprint bursting however, is intended to preserve your stamina long enough to reach an obstacle (like a table or box or something) that you can loop the Twisted around to get them to lose you, NOT just to keep running away from them forever 😁 (also yeah, items are like the strongest thing in this game)

Fun fact unless it's the only thing you do the whole round or you say in chat that you're going to do it you can't really be banned for "griefing" the reason for this is you can't really confirm that it was intentional and not that they were in the same entire half the map as you and couldn't bother to look around because they assumed the twisted's would be distracted. This would cause people to become salty and false report which is why enough evidence is basically non-existent. I've been typing for so long I don't remember what point I was making. Aaah.
On a related note to meatshielding, of course the players could just use the report feature and get you banned, but it would only last a day depending on what you said. If players wanted to get you banned for a long time, they’d need Discord, and heavy proof of you grieving. I don’t really encourage it, but if people do grief, just know that the players in your game can’t report you since there’s a high chance that they don’t have proof of you grieving.
An addition to the comment above 👆 Players would most likely have high suspicion the moment you accidentally/intentionally led any twisted to them. Which means after you’ve grieved for the first time, they’re pretty much recording and awaiting for your next move.

There's another method:when in private server runs you,ll get a guaranteed kiter who will be either flutter/goob/pebble/tisha/sprout and can even be scraps if their highly professional But in cases of public servers . Brightney can actually kite due to Sprint bust which can be used for every character. Expect if your highly at 50 stamina take cover and regen it . Goob is considered the best kiter cuz he saves vee although it's highly better to have a pebble kite at fake elevator /barracked elevator

If you’re too close, they somehow manage to see you through the wall. I don’t really get how it works, but it seems to be consistently based on how close you are to them once they regain the ability to move.

The Take a hit only works if it's not twisted pebbles, if You are a fast toon You can be safe, if slow one, write a death card before go to heaven, it's because twisteds line of sight, as You said, when they hit You the line of sight activates tho, but twisted pebbles taking more seconds for just give up, if don't have any speed ítems for the Chase as a slow toon, it's a dead thing :v
You actually CAN take a hit from Twisted Pebble, since I remember doing exactly that in one of my runs, while playing as Glisten I believe. You just have to get a good distance away from him, like both running far AND hiding behind something before his attack animation finishes, otherwise he'll go right back to chasing you if you're too close to him.
So on a scale Id say twisteds with 4 star movement (Like Toodles & Shelly) are hard to get away from but are escapable unless your using the toons: Rodger, Shrimpo, Vee without trinkets or items. Twisteds with 5 star movement are unescapable (eg: Enraged Glissten & Pebble) , without the items: speed candy, eject, smoke bomb, or enigma candy - if it gives u 50% x movement speed as a 2 star or + toon. Or.. unless you have 5 star toons (Pebble) equipped. Or.. Unless your nearly inside the ele - 1 nanometer away - Every other Twisted is escapable {unless your being chased by 6 commons and theres no islands, and your a 2 star toon.} . For blackouts - Every twisted can get you ,*unless your bright-knee or can see in the dark*, INCLUDING rabies child v.2 [Finn] especially.

the taking a hit method and hiding away is highly buggy and most of the time dosent work SINCE APPRENTLY A TWISTED WILL STILL SEE YOU THROUGH A WALL
If you’re too close, they somehow manage to see you through the wall. I don’t really get how it works, but it seems to be consistently based on how close you are to them once they regain the ability to move.

The Take a hit only works if it's not twisted pebbles, if You are a fast toon You can be safe, if slow one, write a death card before go to heaven, it's because twisteds line of sight, as You said, when they hit You the line of sight activates tho, but twisted pebbles taking more seconds for just give up, if don't have any speed ítems for the Chase as a slow toon, it's a dead thing :v
You actually CAN take a hit from Twisted Pebble, since I remember doing exactly that in one of my runs, while playing as Glisten I believe. You just have to get a good distance away from him, like both running far AND hiding behind something before his attack animation finishes, otherwise he'll go right back to chasing you if you're too close to him.
Taking hit will only not work with twisted Shelly, since she has the shortest attack stun duration
So on a scale Id say twisteds with 4 star movement (Like Toodles & Shelly) are hard to get away from but are escapable unless your using the toons: Rodger, Shrimpo, Vee without trinkets or items. Twisteds with 5 star movement are unescapable (eg: Enraged Glissten & Pebble) ,
without the items: speed candy, eject, smoke bomb, or enigma candy - if it gives u 50% x movement speed as a 2 star or + toon.
Or.. unless you have 5 star toons (Pebble) equipped.
Or.. Unless your nearly inside the ele - 1 nanometer away
- Every other Twisted is escapable {unless your being chased by 6 commons and theres no islands, and your a 2 star toon.}
. For blackouts - Every twisted can get you ,*unless your bright-knee or can see in the dark*, INCLUDING rabies child v.2 [Finn] especially.
