Bulgaria: Unpacking Sofia's hidden charms

For my money, Bulgaria's capital Sofia is among the most relaxing capital cities in all of Europe.
As I wrap up my time in Bulgaria with a second and final video from Sofia I admit to being both surprised and a bit smitten.
Maybe it’s because I’ve become accustomed to capital cites being frenetic, no matter the size of the country. Sofia isn’t frenetic. To the contrary, its people, green spaces, architecture and rhythms relax me. It’s as if I’ve returned to a familiar place rather than having come here for the first time.
That feeling doesn’t happen often when I travel. It’s nice when it does.
