Contentment comes from the heart and only through God and His Word.I am the mother of 6 grown children. We home schooled,I stayed home from day 1. We're there times I felt defeated- of Course! But the Lord walked with me through those times. ❤

Don’t make judgement calls or judge your kid’s character based on the hard right now-about the early years. That is so good!!

Being a mother of 4 grown girls and now a Grandmother; looking back and living in today's times, I've noticed people really don't encourage themselves anymore due to social media, it's more looking for someone else to encourage us. Yes God's word encourages us, but we also have to encourage ourselves. We tend to spend more time saying I can't instead of saying to ourselves "I can even if it's not perfect in my eyes or comparison to someone else.

Oh wow thank you. I needed this. So many times through my life the Lord has cautioned me against looking to others for my strength, my motivation, and my validation. "He alone is my defense, I shall not be moved.". I was just in the middle of a text with a friend and felt tempted to burden her with psyching me up to finish this day out. I realize again how that isn't her job and definitely not letting the Lord have access to my heart in this moment. Thank you ❤

When my children were babies our prayer was that their foundation in Christ would be theirs and that they would stand firm in the wiles of the enemy. This equaled very strong willed boys and many hard days but the good by far outweighed the bad days and they are amazing young men today. There were no guarantees but we made many decisions that were not popular even in our church and homeschool communities. The parenting in a box mentality was rampant when they were younger and even more so now. Such great conversation today and we truly do have to daily give them to God and pray them through the rocky spots. Press on, mamas. Trust your husbands' judgement. I could go on but this interview is gold. Thanks ladies!

Thanks for addressing the dad topic. I would be soooo relieved and happy if my husband would agree with the rule of no screens in their bedroom until age 18. But i need to respect his belief and opinions no matter how many moms on social media tell me how they do it and how it helps kids be more present and mentally and emotionally healthy.

I wanted to just add to the piece about “lack of formula for kids growing up to be followers of Christ”, that research does show that the role of a father in passing on faith and Gospel lifestyle is way greater than that of a mother. Just something to keep in mind. To me that info pushed me to pray for my husband more. Let’s pray for our husband in that context.
Another thing, dr Barna in his huge research found that there are certain predictors as to the future following or not following Christian lifestyle in kids. He found that the number of passing on faith was actually extremely high (can’t remember the number) for the families who had a clear biblical (not just “Christian”) worldview. I listened to him in “Balanced Mom” podcast.
I do agree, however, that the pressure to find the formula isn’t helpful at all.

Part of the beginning of this convicted me where it was needed, so thank you. Thanks for the whole conversation (which I listened to in parts). I also have to say I read M is for Mama last year and it is MY FAVORITE parenting book I have ever read (and I've been a parent for 17.5 years) - also read her newer book a few months ago which was also great (but I still love M is for Mama more). I also love Abbie's outfit.

Thanks for this video! I love what you said about teenagers. I love my teenagers, I think they are amazing… my best friends really. Not without fault but neither am I! So I just think of it as they are growing and learning and we are all still growing and learning, no matter the age :) I am a mother of 6 kids and have enjoyed each and single stage of my children’s lives… all of it! And continue to enjoy. My oldest is 16 and I keep thinking that 18 years is not enough but luckily I am their mother forever, not for just 18 years so that brings me peace. It just changes how we parent but they will always be our children ❤

Just have to say “thank you” for this beautiful conversation. This is so encouraging to me as a Christian homeschooling mama of 6. I often look around at other mothers and think they must know the secrets to raising perfect children. I didn’t have a very positive childhood and because of that I tend to think that other people know the secrets to life while I remain clueless. Thanks for admitting that there isn’t a “formula.” Godly principles yes… but not a one way fits all.

We are a blended family, before we got married 5 years ago he agreed to my parenting style and aspects. But after we got married he turned on me and said im too harsh. Im just being a mother to all the children in the home. I get no help from him with my 14 year old daughter (her bio dad is not in her life by her choice) he criticizes me about my daughter. Are you all teaching your children to keep the Ten Commandments?
The church has failed us all and God tried to warn us through prophecy that they would drop the ball and stop keeping His commandments.
    (2 Thessalonians 2, 2 Timothy 4, Deuteronomy 32)
We’ve in turn failed our children by picking and choosing which of the Ten Commandments to teach them and instead taught them the traditions of the apostate church!
    Do not commit idolatry🎄🚫
    Do not make graven images✝️
Don’t take His name in vain
Remember the sabbath (SATURDAY) to keep it holy
Honour your father and mother (parents teach children the Ten Commandments: Deu 6)
    Do not commit adultery
    Do not steal
    Do not bear false witness
    Do not covet
How can we love our neighbours (aka rebuke their sins: Lev 19:15-18) if we ourselves don’t truly keep the commandments in faith?
The formula IS the Ten Commandments. God promises us that if we teach them to our children, when they grow older they will not depart.
That is a promise from God.
Repent and turn back to the holy covenant.

Oh my word, I just had to pause the video for a moment and say this thing that just popped into my head. Jesus loves us (his CHILDREN) with the most perfect love, and yet we still do not always obey what he says. The same with Lucifer, he was so very loved but we all know that he just did NOT turn out right in spite of the unconditional love of the Father. That woman had it so backwards, I can't believe it! I hope no one took her comment to heart, it's a good idea to pray for these mislead people. P.S. this is such a great video, thank you both for your willingness to share your humble, Jesus led wisdom.
