I don’t truly think he is an underrated singer nor as a band, they have earned bunches of acknowledgments and prizes throughout their careers, the United Kingdom also of course Norway have paid their acknowledgment for the timeless contributions to Music.
I think he is better, he sings with passion, not to show how good he is, and sha can go very high, he can go so deep and hight. I prefere him❤️❤️❤️
This song reminds me of the time I was at school with my friends....of lazy summer days, blue skies with fluffy white clouds.......we had our 'walkmans' listening to the album on our headphones....not a care in the world. As the years tick by, oh how I miss those times.

I was a big A-ha fan as well as Depeche Mode (still am) This reminds me of great times, an era of new wave, new romantic, synths, break dance, hip hop , falling in love for the first time and just hanging out with great mates. What great times these weee. I recollect these memories many time especially when I listen to This track, as well as I’ve been losing you. I’ll never forget those fantastic times
Yep ... when the synth kicks in, about 5 seconds in, I am instantly on the 2nd floor of my high school, after classes ... wandering the halls .... 14 years old again .... incredible the effect this song has on All of us who were teenagers in 1985 .... magical, really

When they burst into the scene in my country, it felt like sudden cool breezes in the height of hot and humid summer. The romanticism for that north Scandinavia must have played a role in me. They are welcome invasion to American 'love' songs-dominated music scene back then. European sensibility in this song including the lyrics is pleasant to my ear.....
If ever there was only one a-ha song that needed to be played live with an orchestra, this would be it.
I love the blonde, pony-tailed violinist behind Morten! In every track she's always bopping away whenever she isn't playing.

When i was a school boy, my best mate Paul Boyes & I, used to share a head phone & listen to this on a 'walkman' whilst we waited for our girlfriends...
In 1988.
I left school, and became an apprentice with British Gas, this tune stayed with me as i struggled with the conversion from 'boyhood' to 'manhood' (no initiation ceremony!)...
This song was the LAST song to remind me of being a school boy.
However, I have, and will NEVER stop loving A-HA.

When Morten changes his voice from regular to high, he's got the best like no one in the industry former or now singers ,females or males.Maybe Michael Jackson had a nice high voice too.
Morten can't hit those high notes anymore, at least those in the finale of the song. But this is one of a-ha's best efforts lyric wise. The band, even now, continues to sell out shows in Europe and as far as South America. It's funny how "Take On Me" was their only one hit wonder here in the States. Puzzling...
Steve Randel Your last remark isn’t really true because The Sun Always Shines on TV charted in the USA too, but of course no band that can sell over 100 million pieces and still fill stadia around the world after 35 years could ever be considered a one hit wonder anywhere! The USA clearly has missed out on some of the most amazing music over the past 30 odd years, by ignoring a-ha, but I think we can lay the blame squarely at the door of Warner Music who never promoted them properly in the USA. Morten has an amazing voice, but agree with you about the high notes in this song, he really should stop trying to sing them now. Considering he is almost 61, his voice is still in great shape, and this band still has a lot of mileage in them. I have been a fan since 1985, and I really think they are still the best live band in the world.
