i love that he's taking his son! even though he might have spoiled him before... he is teaching him a good lesson now! and its never too late to learn.
Dear ben., Don't forget their is a big gap between the activities of this fellow's usual occupation and homeless folk. . The gap is the government and taxation and personal choice. . Were that fellow never to have done any job or paid any taxes then folk would still be homeless. . The gap is the problem; it is the responsibility of we all via the government to help others to create an equal and fair community -world community. . cheers.
@amyyyamy I agree. I hate when just because your parents are successful pressure is put on you to achieve the same things. Just because you've gone to a private school they think you should automatically get good grades and life should be easy for you. My dad's a bank executive- I want to be a screenwriter- there's definitely allot of unwanted pressure.
I wonder these things too because in looking for a j-o-b, to keep a roof over my head, while going to school for a career change, pretty much all the employers seem to be looking for people who want a "career" in what ever business it is, like retail and a Kroger store which barely pays more than minimum wage, and they seriously expect you to be grateful. These businesses rarely work with employee schedules for people trying to go to school and improve their lives.
the son is no loser- because he didnt choose his life. its really difficult to live up to the examples parents set when they're fairly successful. so maybe he chose to not even try. my mom's a doctor, my dad's got a phd, honestly? it sucks! i will probably never be as "successful" (defined by money or education) and they dont like that.. and believe me it sucks.
I haven't seen this on TV, only a few episodes on youtube. How do they explain the cameraman? I think it's cool that the rich people actually do this and have their eyes opened a bit more than they were before. Some of them are really cool. Would be more interesting if it was more than a week. I wonder what the impact on them would be if they thought they were risking everything, and didn't know it would be over in a few days and they would be back to their plush lives.
I know this guy he ended up on the streets so broke he had to hit you up for cigarettes. Now he is in a state hospital after being in regular jail for a little. I worry he will never be Greg again his mind is gone from it seems booze and drugs . My friend still checks on him . Sad 😔
a chill ran up my spine when that woman Linda offered them breakfast. She is doing it out of the kindness of her heart, and probably can't afford to feed 2 grown men. I just thought it was so dishonest of them. There is no way the producers are letting this millionaire and his son starve. But, I guarantee Linda didn't know that. She obviously knew the area they said they were from and immediately was like "ooooh ewww".
@HDCAMAN Yeah, the swedish version is like the UK version. Not so much about how filthy rich the person actually is - more focus on the good doings of the people who receive the money. Though this is, like you said, still interesting.
I read an article on shows moving to a new network, and how the show fing success. ABC decided to give life to this show. According to the article it should have been a show on ABC rather than FOX. Because ABC has done a better job with telling the story.
I have to agree that cleaning up the beach and water is a nice thought. But what would be the point of a sparkling beach if it were filled with homeless people? I think the notion of the show is to help the less fortunate, so they can strengthen their communities in return.
@JermzzzyFTW see, i am 27, i have a good degree, i have international experience, i speak 5 languages, landed a good-paying job and most people would think i am very successful. but i will never ever live up to my parents' expectations.
@georgeeboy2222 I agree with you completely ! I am not gonna watch this episode because it will leave me sickened. to make fortunes on others losses is beyond bad karma. good luck in the after life!
Dear sexyb, I look with interest at your comment and am interested to know how much you yourself have given as donations to the poor or needy; it seems at first reading that you have not obtained the reason the telelvison show was made nor left any coment about the notion of giving nor that of giving anonymously. cheers.
Hey i understand the point your making but at the same time whilst he makes money out of poor times for other people he isnt actually causing those negative occurences.I get your point but its not really his fault! An example id use is a police officer ie they do a good job protecting people but if there was no crime and all people were good, etc they wouldnt have a job and thus they need negative parts of society to have a job and thus provide a service.
Can anyone see the irony in this? He made his millions from the misfortune of others who lost their homes to greedy banks, NOW he wants to give back a little of what he took. Kinda like a thief returning one of your rings, but keeping everything else he robbed from you. Sick, JUST Sick. Typical Lawyer with a spoiled brat kid who will just go back to his surfing and driving exotic cars. I have a lot of respect for those that earned their millions in an honorable way. These two... Forget it.
Especially the ones who got rich with businesses with employees making minimum wage and taking advantage of peoples bad times. I wonder if the couple that owns the fast food restaurants ever eat the crap they sell to people. Some of the millionaires are real bastards in how they got rich, but it's cool if they really get their eyes opened. Would be nice to see follow up on how the experience changed their lives in the long run. Do you think they pay more than minimum wage now?
@HDCAMAN There isn't a "UK version." These are two different series with the same theme. Two different cultures will create two different experiences. Trying to determine which series is "best" is impossible. It's also fairly pointless.
@ilindah not all of it is, just the majority. theres some good shows. but i have to be honest, i go on hulu, and get ads for shows in other countries, and they look just as bad.
first few minutes imply he's using this to show his son what his live would be like without that money ? isnt this about sharing and helping your fellow man ?
He might be loaded but like all Americans he cannot pronounce "Niche"! Although to be fair I am Scottish and we really wreck the English language every time we speak :-)
77 usd for that sh......... my God, in Europe you get a super hotel room down at NOT CONTAMINATED ocean side for 30 with b.f includet and daily cleaning .Plus if someone try to rent you a hotel room like that you just call the health service and they close down the shit ..........................whats happen in USA ? worst than some palces in India or Afganistan and they point on other countries ....................wtf ..........shame on you
i love that he's taking his son! even though he might have spoiled him before... he is teaching him a good lesson now! and its never too late to learn.
with all the episode, Greg and his son is the one i like the best. They really went around and check who needed the money most.

how come at 5:25 there are cameras already set up in the flat...but they've JUST walked in....hmmm..fake episode? I still have more to watch so.....

I know this guy he ended up on the streets so broke he had to hit you up for cigarettes. Now he is in a state hospital after being in regular jail for a little. I worry he will never be Greg again his mind is gone from it seems booze and drugs . My friend still checks on him . Sad 😔
So all his money is made out of others misery. In a industry that destroys lives. Yeah mate, a fucking A+ personality.

I like Cole, he's very handsome.

I never thought of that..I just hope this experience has made him question his values.
How does anyone sleep being part of the foreclosure process?
Great job fantastic !!

He says he's probably an A+ for personality.....OK
I'm more worried about his previous character and integrity

@HDCAMAN totally! american tv is all FRONT and EMPTY
The UK version is much more real & down to earth - this is hardcore sensationalized - but still interesting
Tickets Away!!!!!!!!!!!!!
his son gets it ...
lost me at making millions off the tragic misfortunes of others . no dignity in that .
this show makes me sick. MULTI- millionaires giving away only $100,000 to multiple people. fucking disgusting.
i love this episode but i hate his kid his son isnt the millionaire greg is.
@ilindah not all of it is, just the majority. theres some good shows. but i have to be honest, i go on hulu, and get ads for shows in other countries, and they look just as bad.
not too lovely for a place...
