I love it! Purple irises are my favorite. I imagine that the Oklahoma plantings y’all did provided field of irises just for you! My great grand mom was struck by lightning in 1910. The death of his young bride was so heartbreaking my great grandpa only bought one plot in the cemetery. This graveyard on the high prairie was so barren the wrought iron fence provides the only vestige from the harsh weather of the southern Colorado. He planted a purple iris to mark her grave. Still after more than a hundred years their love blooms anew with purple irises every spring. The single iris grew and sprawled beyond the fence into a huge spread that can be seen from great distances.
