Try adding a little edge control or grease with the foam sounds weird but it helped the curl last a lot longer.

The key to any set is making sure it’s completely dry or it will not set and it will give you a puffy frizzy end result. I’d you’re going to sleep in a set overnight, I recommend sitting under a dryer first or applying direct heat from a blow dryer to start the drying process especially with thicker hair. Air drying doesn’t penetrate through the rod like direct heat. The hair wasn’t completely dry which is why it ended up like that.
My hair was like this after I used way to much heat , it wouldn’t even curl like it’s natural curl. I still had plenty of hair etc but I ended up cutting off little by little until I got my natural curls back. With that being said it really did come out beautiful ! But also it’s already like straight in a way do for someone who’s hair is not effected by heat it may not come out the same.
I feel like my hair will slide out of the flexi rod. Anyway, I'm doing this for my wedding. I will cuss anyone who tells me "Just straighten your hair for a change." Nah.
