Nice! my guess is that we shouldn't call the api from front end code? How does this differ from realm-web , currently we're calling our mongodb atlas customer from the client side using realm-web, works great dont need a backend, could the same be said with the data api?

Wouldn't retrieving data using APIs be slower than retrieving data using drivers, because drivers are using native binary protocol for efficiency?
yes, it is slower, this is better suited for something like serverless functions on the edge (Lambda@Edge, Cloudflare Workers)
