    David,
Thank you very much for sharing this with your fellow glass artists...new techniques open the door to new ideas...and even before I watch this series of studio classes on your multi-layered squashed glass, my brain is spinning with possibilities. Your generosity in sharing new possibilities is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for this excellent tutorial on your technique. I have made some thick glass pieces with scrap in SS molds, I am thinking this would be a great way to thin the glass for slumping.

Thank you so much for sharing this technique and for FREE! Beautiful work. Just one question: I have a fiber kiln and have to use fiber fusing paper on the shelf rather than straight kiln wash. Will this cause any difficulties with this technique? Since you don't have a fiber kiln, maybe you don't know, and I can just try a small test piece, but thought I would ask first in case you might have some experience with using fiber paper with this technique. Thank you in advance for your generous sharing of your experience.

You can try the fiber fusing paper, I have never tried it. My kilns have a fiber top and brick sides. Never have had a problem with the fiber top so not sure what issues a full fiber kiln would have using kiln wash on the two shelves.

I won't be able to try this right now but when I do will let you know how it goes in case others have the same question. Thank you for your generosity and your quick response.

Thank you! I am so excited about trying this technique. I do not have two large shelves. I am thinking of using two 15" sq porcelain floor tiles that are kiln washed. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks for sharing!

    • @artandartiststories7716

That should work, like I say in this series “Try It”

@@artandartiststories7716 I tried using two 20" porcelain tiles using your firing schedule and the piece broke in multiple places. :( I am refiring without the tile on top to see what happens.
