Hi. I've been researching the docking stations before I decided to get the Minisopuru. The Satechi's smaller footprint makes it a more compact option, but the Minisopuru has more ports. In my case, I wanted to have my iMac standing a bit higher and it looks more integrated with the imac's design, and this was the only reason I got the Minisopuru over the Satechi (which is way slimmer and has more attractive look). btw. Thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it!!
@@FamilyPopTV Thank you. I often heard that some accessories have problems with different chips. Anyway, I ordered it and I'm expecting it today. If you want I'll tell you if it works.
@@enzogattullo1298 You shouldn't have any problems with the connection to your iMac - since you'll be plugging it into the USB-C port at the back. In fact - the hub is a great way to add some extra storage to your iMac. You can grab a relatively inexpensive SSD (that's what I did) and mount it right in the stand - it's a neat way to keep things tidy. I'd love to hear how it works for you once you get it set up! Thanks
Can I use the minisopuru USB hub for iMac 27 inch if I connect it with a USB C to A dongle? Perhaps a stupid question; but I think it should work. Can't find an answer on Google or RUclips. Thanks you.
The connection will work for sure, as the hub is being plugged to either usb-c (either 3.1 or the thunderbolt 3, which is I believe are the same as in yours 27"). The only issue would be the size of the stand - as the minisopuru been designed to fit specifically the 24" iMac's stand (54cm X 15cm) and yours 27" iMac has a slightly bigger width and depth (65cm X 20cm), so it won't be standing securely. If the stand could be swapped, it would be mint..
Can you tell me if the SD card slot receives the card in an upside down manner? (with the metal bars up) as you slide it in ? Could you please respond to this query ? Thank you 10-18-23
Hi. Yes, the SD card goes in upside down. Its not ideal, but it works. (this doesnt apply to the microSD card, even though its slot is located directly above the standard SD card slot).
Hi. I chose to format the SSD disk in APFS because it is the newer and more advanced file system, APFS offers several advantages over older OS (HFS+), including faster operations, better performance, and improved file system fundamentals. HFS+ was the previous file system for older Macs, but i think its no longer supported by newer versions of macOS. Cheers.
Just wanted to say a quick thank you for the useful info
Thank you , I'm glad it's been helpful. 👍
I think I can not use this on my iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch from 2017? Are there any alternatives?
How does the similarly priced and featured Satechi slim dock compare to this unit in your review? Keep up the great work.

They need to offer more colors.
I agree .
Thank you for the informative video..can you please tell whether the ssd drive installation makes the computer any slower or it is perfectly okay?
Nice video, I would like to purchase one. Is the 15 percent discount still available?
Hi, can it work with M3?
As far as I'm aware, both imacs, the M1 and the M3 have the same dimensions, so it should fit fine.

@@FamilyPopTV It also works perfectly with Crucial SSD M.2. I'm really happy with this purchase.

Pretty slow transfer speeds. A real enclosure can do up to 40gbps

Why APFS format and not Mac?

can it fit studio display stand ?
Hi. No, it's designed to fit the iMac 24" m1/m3
