Watched these all many many times over the years, haven't tired of em yet. The Roast DVD set stills comes on vacation every year with us& gets watched at family gatherings. Those old days seemed like a magic time, looking back at them now. Some of the jokes were old even in those days but the delivery style of the old comics& stars makes em funny again still.

He said she'd treat him like a kindergartener if he didn't give her back the correct change or bought the incorrect item. One of the Ten Commandments is to "honor thy father and mother in order that you may live a long life." They must have honored their parents and many others! HUGS to all of YOU!!!

They aren't made like him any more, and the celebrities doing the roasting are hysterical! I had no idea Ted Knight was that funny! And Rich Little and the rest -- so much great comic talent in one half hour!
Lynn Anderson was on 3 Dean Martin Roasts (Kirk Douglas, Hank Aaron, & Bobby Riggs). She was the only female country star on these Hollywood shows because of her mainstream appeal & success.

One of the greatest movie heroes of all time, Kirk Douglas has been one of my heroes too, and with Burt Lancaster he played in some great westerns. I am so happy, Mr. Douglas, for your long life, and wish you many, many more years of happiness and success.
I watched this whole video and not once did singer Ray Price get up to speak. A class act performer and he was snubbed. Dean was a big fan of Rays which makes this more puzzeling to me...2/6/2020..R.I.P. Mr. Douglas....
He probably did speak, but it was up to the producers' discretion regarding what material stayed in the final version that was televised and what was cut. They had to edit it down to fit the timeslot.

THIS is a roast! They’re dressed. There’s REAL celebrities there. The roasts are done with fun and class. Today they’re crass, stupid, corny and disgusting and just plain NOT funny.
I don’t usually watch the new ones because it’s people I don’t like. Who wants to see that Bieber kid roasted, but from what I have seen they are pretty funny. The old school stuff is just going to be much better. There is no real comparison. Some of these guys came out of Vaudville, also it was just a different industry. These are just another level. The dressing up is part of that, it’s an occasion so the dress for it. 🌸
