A new era begins for Bharat today with freedom from British
No more IPC, CrPC: 3 new criminal laws to come into effect on July 1.
Few of the new changes :
1. According to the new laws, judgment in criminal cases has to come within 45 days of completion of trial and charges must be framed within 60 days of first hearing.
2. Organized crimes and acts of terrorism have been defined, sedition has been replaced with treason and video recording of all search and seizure has been made mandatory.
3. The offences against women and children, murder and offences against the State have been given precedence in the new law.
4. Under the new laws, a person can now report incidents by electronic communication, without the need to physically visit a police station.
5. An interesting addition to the law is that in the event of an arrest, the individual has the right to inform a person of his choice about his or her situation. This will ensure immediate support and assistance to the arrested individual.'
It is high time to bring judicial amd civil reforms in India(Bharat).

These 3 laws are LONG overdue. Glad Modi and Amit Shah passed these laws through parliament and Indians have better laws that protect themselves and expedite justice and punishments.

I am from South of India and have no idea of how power corridors work.
But regarding judiciary so have an issue that our laws are drafted in such complex language so that judges have liberty to make diferent ruling on same crime based on how he reads it since many rules seem.not to be definitive. So if a poor in connected man goes to court his justice may be diferent from one delivered to a well connected person represented by any of the hundred crore club lawyers for same crime. See how hit and run in poona is developing or another judge commuting a sentence for raping a six year old since the accused is a peaceful criminal doing five time prayer. Is this justice or nonsense?
My question is being drafted by same system in same complex language will anything change for the common man? Can judges contine to give judgements as per their reading? Or will this ensure same punishment for same crime in same way irrespective of who the lawyer or prosecutor is given similarity in evidence etc?
I think govt failed in that aspect since it's the same system that wrote the text for same and not in simple direct language as it should have been

I have filed a case and can you believe for 3 long years police couldn't file the chargesheet. Disgusting and pathetic... Sometimes your are so fucking frustrated that you no longer want to pursue tha case anymore.
Moreover the complaint has to be present in every hearing where as the accused's lawyer comes in for next date and this goes on and on.

Suhel Seth was always a hypocrite, and he has changed his colours after election. He was shouting on Advaita kala show and calling the new laws draconian. His referred to statements of people like Indira Jaisingh, Salman Khurshid, as if they were ultimate authority. He was calling Advaita names when she said that the details of laws should be discussed with some good lawyers.
Judiciary was part of the formation of these laws. Supreme Court should not give stay. Any small gaps found later can be discussed. If found ok then that can be taken as amendment

A murder is a murder, and should be punished as a murder. The motive is irrelevant.
Politicians are afraid that henceforth the court case be dragged on & on for decades. Lawyers too dislike these 3 New laws due to Fixation of time frame from 1 to 3 Yrs, their Monthly EMIs from each client will get limited to this period instead on enjoying it for No work except "Taarikh par Taarikh" drama to fool litigants. Policesbwill be forced to work overtime n diligently to file case with full evidence in time. Judges too from lower to highest courts too don't like new laws b'cos they will have to do regular hearing, can't be influenced by liawyers and show results ie Judgments within time frame. Now public will be watching how this dirty nexus of policias, liawyers, Judges accept, adhere and follow the "3 New LAWS".
