Helpful video, thanks. The one thing missing for consideration of the GEN24 Plus is the ability to take advantage of a standard fuel generator when solar isn't enough to maintain batteries in a grid down situation.
Hello @SkyCharter!
There are basically two options for this: Basically, it is possible to operate an emergency power generator using a rectifier bridge or a DC power supply on one of the DC inputs of the inverter. The inverter will then process the available DC voltage accordingly and use it to charge the battery or to supply the household. Please note, however, that in this case the warranty lies with the installer carrying out the work. The emergency generator can also be used as a standalone solution. A switchover on the AC side is suitable for this, which switches off the inverter and switches on the emergency generator.
Best regards, Andrea from Fronius.
hi,
i have frenius symo gen24 plus
i have not battery in my system.
i have 2 questions
1) there are 2 mptt slot at symo gen24 plus. i plugged the fv panels first one, and second one empty.
How is the AC voltage coming from the wind turbine connected to the Fronius inverter?
2) How can I use the electricity from my electric vehicle's battery at home?
b.r. 😊👍
I have a symo gen24 plus 6.0 connected to the grid to 400V 3 phase with not current back-up or battery installed.
Is there a recommended configuration where I can have back-up power on all 3 phases ?
Any product suggestion, link to documentation or video will be highly appreciated.
Hello @NicolaeCristolovean
For Backup-power you have 2 options: The Fronius Backup Switch, which is a manual switch that can be activated during grid failures, and second the Fronius Backup Controller, which will automatically switch between Backup and Public Grid. Best regards, Andrea from Fronius.
here in NZ installer knowledge is low so I am researching myself
I notice you said external energy source is unavailable when grid is not connected I was hoping to use this feature with on-board power now increasingly available on electric vehicles if this is the case I assume it also means vehicle to Home is unavailable with a non-battery system probably the case for me initially
Cheers
Hello fronius and thank you for this video Please I would like to know the maximum number of Fronius inverters that can be paralleled
Hello. Thank you for putting out these videos.
A quick off topic question but may interest others as well?
If I update the software on my Gen24 inverter, do I need to reboot the whole system, BYD battery plus the Fronius inverter that I have, in what order?
Thanks for a quick answer.
Hello did you figure it out how to power cycle after update? Are you happy with your system, by any chance do you use Electric car to charge the batteries during winter months? What kind of system do you have?
@@procekim yes, recycle the system after an update. Then, first start the battery, then the Fronius. Works like a charm.
No, have an ice vehicle.
Why does the Fronius 6.0kW GEN24 PLUS have a 60 to 90 second switch over time? It a joke when so many are 20millseconds...
Yeah it's no good as backup, you still need to have UPSes all over the place anyway... 60 seconds I can have a diesel genset up to speed and switching over, so this is useless and overpriced.
