i found that wave on Google maps..theres a few others on that coast. well done for giving it a go. In 2011 I surfed the man-made reef at kerala, had perfect barreling lefts for a couple days. One morning I woke up and their were heavy machines and tractors on the beach... local fishermen dragged the sand bags out of the sea. Gotta be one of the shortest lived breaks in history. I came close to getting arrested for surfing in the monsoon on that trip. Way the police explained it, they weren't worried about me but the 50 or so locals who were watching me on the beach, some wading out waste deep and could get dragged off their feet, and could not swim. India is a big crazy place, with plenty surf potential...but plenty of obstacles in your way. I'll be back. Good to know someones been to that wave...maybe on a slightly different swell direction..who knows???? Also reminds me of a time my buddy and I in late 90s, travelled for 2 days on the roof of a jeepney in cordillaros (north of baler) mountains in Luzon..finally got to a place rumoured to be the GLand of PI as a typhoon was approaching. Police forbade us to hire any fishing boats, ...so close yet so far..our window was gone. Sketchy trip saw a guy get stabbed, sang karaoke with whole village watching, hung with indigenous negrritos family...unforgettable shit and we didn't surf a wave!!! Google map hunting was a hobby of mine. In 2012 I moved to a part of Sumatra not known as a surf mecca..had 5 good years there. now back at my place in Oz..haven't surfed in 6 months..can't bear the crowds on Goldy. During that 5 years I only met a handfull of crew come searching...funny, theres less surfers coming through than 30 years ago locals told me. Maybe too many dudes are relying on swell predictive apps, airbnb...Perfect waves are still there boys..you just gotta go and figure it out when you get there...and give yourself time, and connect with the locals..you'll have better trip every time!!!
Loved it! This is the best surf mission video I've ever seen because it upends that by-now totally boring story of The Big Score, We're The Winner etc. Surfing is really like this- LIFE is really like this! Misadventures make travel interesting. This is great.
Well done that short film is a true work of art. We all share that same desire of exploration and discovery and to see it illustrated here truly inspires my desire to travel more and seek out new adventures... The hope of incredible surf and endless lineups is just the icing on the cake. Jon Aspuru thanks for posting this great short film. Cheers!!!
i dont mean to be so offtopic but does anyone know a way to log back into an instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my login password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me!
@Dario Thomas I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and im trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
I've realized during a recent trip through Central America that I enjoy the hunt as much as the spoils. It was a weird thing for me to realize that surfing isn't all about the waves anymore. Thanks for sharing
i would not worry for being letting stuff like this hit the internet what happened to the soul of surfing and just expiriencing it in its purest form with friends i guess sometimes you stumble on a knob
Cattle and river water equals MANY bacterial infections. I would of went too guys. Just keep up on ur shots and tell a doctor where u were ..Show the doctor the video Tell him u need Vicodin ,as much as he can give u.
Vicodin??? A narcotic painkiller?? Wtf??. What they needed was a shitload of anti malarials, FANSIDAR for a few days then Chloroquin, plus antibiotics just in case a nasty bug was growing out!!
We didn't get enough waves to watch. Not one wave or barrel was made or shown so u guys probably just said fuck filming and surfed ur brain s out. Fastest wave I've seen in awhile.

Papa! Papa!
Manapad, south India?
Looks like a hard wave to make.. even with the fastest board..
HARDCORE
Perhaps a few more feet of size would move it out a little and slow it down just enough, great trip though guys. If you dont go, you"ll never know:)
Ole vuestros cojones!!!
"Estoy tirao aquí...estoy tirao" (Modo típico Kepa, always behind the camera) 🤦♂️
boat to an "island"..... that's a generous term..

"This is India, nobody speaks English ..." - Same like in Spain, huh?
Julius Kieninger no. Everybody in Spain speaks English .
@@mikeb2480
Miguel Parada Fue un cumplido.
No es rápida si surfeas bien.
