Im just a rec player. I have a 6'9 build that I averaged a triple double w. I have a 7'0 build that I get triple double w all the time if my team hits their shots. No shooting on either build high dunks, good lay, good interior d, decent stl, rebound, and high pass. Just gotta have basketball IQ and know how to find the open player.
Let me glaze a little bit…I am a casual player and suck at shooting consistently. 2K24 nearly broke me. I could not shoot for the life of me. 99 3 ball didn’t matter. @Lakerfan dropped his point center (SF) build and it made the game fun for me. I was able to contribute boards and assists with the occasional nasty standing dunk. It made the game fun again. I can shoot better in this 2K but last years build made me a better guard because I spent the whole year facilitating now I look to pass first instead of shoot when I’m on my guard build. If you’re a casual and struggle with shooting consistently, give these builds a try and I promise the game experience will be better not just for you but for your teammates.
Are 6’9 insides good? I love the attributes 100x better than 6’8 or 6’10 but u do miss out on the big man contact animations. Still looks OP with 96 o board, 95 strength, 90 standing, 93 block

If I have 77 vertical for gold pogo stick then how much of an improvement do you think it will be going from a 74 block with bronze paint patroller and chasedown artist to an 84 block with silver paint patroller and chasedown artist on a 6'9" or 6'10" big?
Thats always been the move. People actually lucky we dont have the perks like juice anymore. Making the tallest, fastest player possible was always OP.
My center can’t shoot but I can guard the 3-5 i can contest on both perimeter and interior and I hate playing with players who don’t utilize pick and rolls I be setting picks and they just sit top of the key and dribble a million times as a post scorer if we’re up I’m slowing the game down so the other team don’t gain no momentum and gold dimer when they double I pass to perim open mans I’m literally all over the floor but the 3 point line and works effectively

Most are just focusedv on what puts them in position to score vs what helps offense be most efficient. I love space, pace, good basketball, and unselfishness. Mashers and rim runners are just annoying bc theyll usually be the main ones screaming for space (a luxury they themselves can't provide), have to be involved in every play or it's 4 v 5, are the worse passers going up on 2+ defenders hitting you with the infamous "i thought i was going to dunk it" like their teammates aren't wide open at the 3, then get mad when their teammate does a nice move to blow past their defender but can't capitalize bc the non shooters defender double knowing his man is useless every where outside of the paint. If you can't shoot and you play with Randoms you're trash 85% of the time
LAKER how do you feel about vertical for rebounds i have a 7’0 center with 96 D board and Hof rebound chaser with short arms like Tonic build but i feel like i can’t grab boards, should i put 3 cap breakers on my vert to bring it up to 77 and get gold pogo or should i put all 5 on my vert and get 79?

Not really, people will always make non shooting builds. That's just a build style that's been in all 2ks No bigman player that shoots will look at these inside builds laker makes and thinks yea this is meta. The video still provides good information that can be used though
Definitely much appreciated and I respect you making a build that fits your playstyle. I just know from my experience I love having players that have at least a 75 three-point shot.

@@kennnyyy.21 not when you’re going against a 6’7 with 86 speed and can’t keep up but he’s got gold post move lockdown and silver paint patroller. Speed is king in 3s. 1s you can take a taller build but on a footer you’ll get exposed by the right people
It's OK, but it can result in your matchup being able to rotate paint quickly if you don't sit out of the 3pt line. You really have to have some shooting (mid or three) unless you have a dedicated team
thats for icon purposes, he plays "center" in the P&R on offense but he defensively usually plays with 2 other "bigs" whether thats a backend and stretch or 2 stretches afaik

You buy them.. if you make money from playing the game you can write it off on taxes, basically like a 30-40% discount due to not having to pay taxes on it.
Me personally i think it’s 6’10>Footers. There more athletic and i feel like vert is op this year and having a 88 vert on a 6’10 compared to a 75-80 on a footer is just so much better

@@jakesharppi made a 7 foot center balanced on everything, nothings too low but nothings too high except for 99 defensive rebounding. 90 standing dunk, 93 block ,84 close shot, 78 post, 88 interior d, 66 speed, 93 strength. Maybe a 7 1 with cap breakers is better but i like my build so far, just no shooting on it but thats the point, gotta get the most out of the attributes u want but randoms suck and miss alot and dont pass or use screens properly especially when you match make with lower overalls n rep so gotta keep that in mind
You can play Rec with any decent build really. You don't need some meta build or whatever. Just preferably a build that can decently stretch the floor, otherwise it's gonna be sometimes painful for your teammates, especially if you're not the only non shooter on the team (I guess if you're a center you can get away with it because you might be setting screens a lot, but having the option to pop after a screen as well is good). I think what's best is to make your own build that plays according to your own playstyle. Unless it's your first 2K, I don't really recommend just copying someone else's build. You just have to know what attribute values are worth it and what unlocks badges and animations. (he made a video on that)
Got a 7'0 with the natural 99, absolute god. Pure inside plays soooo well, 90 dunk on it gonna cap break it to 95. You can get good defensive stats too, my builds called a defensive anchor. Often you play at the 4 in REC but no matter if you are the 4 or 5 you absolutely dominate boards and most of the time can easily box out and putback if you also get legend box out and 96 strength
I have like 8 builds with reb chaser from bronze to legend. Gold is imo the sweet spot. As long as you have gold and have position/box out you're gonna get the board. Above that is overkill and unnecessary. Better off spending it on something else at that point

Sacrificing strength for speed and vert is the best thing you can do as a big man . I’m not saying go low strength but . I’m saying go 85 vert thenmax strength as a big man .

Can you test the dunk meter/posterizer to show how inconsistent contact dunks are this year? Especially on high vs low interior defense
for the last 6'10 build: lower free throw to 55, agility to 71, and get block to 85 to get GLASS WARRIOR takeover (Block & Reb boost)

U should try squeezing a muddy or something just to make the center think about leaving the plate. Undersized bigs are hard to play if u play solo

Center wise 7footer with a 7’7 wingspan to get the 76 3pt. Or 7f1 with a 7’9 wingspan to get 75 3pter to unlock shooting takeovers. Ect
